MILAAP is a proposed platform that would allow residents of gated communities to better know their neighbors and about activities in their society. The number of gated communities and people migrating to cities is increasing rapidly in India. Currently, societies are fragmented with little communication between residents. MILAAP would provide better communication tools and a central place for residents to learn about and participate in society activities and discussions. User research found residents want easier ways to spread information, find help, and learn about facilities. The proposed solution is a tablet device mounted at each home that can function as a video intercom and run the MILAAP app to connect residents.
