2. INTRODUCTION
Tchebicheff’s Mechanism is a mechanical linkage that converts rotational motion to
approximate straight-line motion. It was invented by the nineteenth-century mathematician
Pafnuty Chebyshew, who studied theoretical problems in kinematic mechanism. This mechanism
works on connected links, To perform this mechanism a DC motor is required. The aim of the
motor drive system is to supply energy source required to actuate all systems of the machine.
3. LITERATURE REVIEW

Fundamental concept on Principles of Mechanism.
4. PROBLEM DEFINITION AND OBJECTIVE
PROBLEM DEFINITION:-
• To make a working model of mechanism for industry use cutting / feeding.
OBJECTIVES:-
• To make the mechanism using industrial material.
• Should be steady.
• Required less maintenance.
• Easy to maintain.
• Can be easily set-up.
• Less set-up cost.
5. METHODOLOGY
Working:- This mechanism works on connected links, to perform this mechanism a DC motor
with torque of 1.96 Nm, 100 rpm and 12V is selected. The aim of the motor drive system is to
supply energy source required to actuate all systems of the machine. Link 1 is fixed with base
of this mechanism, link 2 is connected with link 1 and motor is attached and fix with link 1
and its shaft is connected with link 3. Which rotates with motor shaft. Rotating link 3 is
connected with one side of link 4 and another side of link 4 is connected with link 1, one side
of link 5 is connected at center of link 4 and another side of link 5 is connected with cutting
blade. Which supply cutting motion to connected blades.

7. Fabrication Process:- At first a 3D working diagram is made on solid work. This Cutting
machine based on Tchebicheff’s Mechanism is made by mild steel Aluminum and plywood.
To make this cutting machine, Cutting, Drilling, buffing process is used. It contains nut and
bolt to assemble this machine.
Project Planning:- At first discussed with group member and a 3D working diagram is made
on solid work to know any errors or problem, then required material and electric components
is brought from market, and fabricate it as required for cutting machine, i,e Cutting, Drilling,
and Buffing etc. and assembled it to make a cutting machine based on Tchebicheff’s
Mechanism.
8. Material Selection:- Material selection is an important aspect of machine design; it involves
the selection of material from which the respective components of automatic paper cutting
machine will be fabricated. To analyze the components of the various machines that make up
the automatic paper cutting machine some factors have to be considered. Many times, a
material problem is one of selecting the right material from the many thousands that are
available.
To fabricate the actual model, Mild steel (M.S.) material used for its fixed links,
Aluminum for remaining links and plywood is used for its base.
9. CONCLUSION
This PPT highlights the Tchebicheff’s Mechanism Cutting Machine. Which cuts the
specified material, It also contains mechanical design used to perform a successful Cutting, As a
result, it presents an application of the design process on the example of cutting machine, it is
sturdy and easy to assemble and use. And it is widely used in manufacturing industries.
