2. Katy Perry
‘The One That Got Away’
This video is has the singer as the actress in the
video and it uses narrative only for this song.
The narrative is about an elderly woman who is in
love with a man who she was with when she was
younger, but he past away.
There are two different time periods in this video so
there are two different fashions. The video is shot in
the future when she is and elderly woman and then
there is when she is younger
( early 20’s).
I like the use of flashbacks in this video as it helps
the audience to understand the narrative.
It is mainly set in the home of the elderly
woman, but the flashbacks are in many locations
including an apartment in a city.
3. The Script
‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’
This song uses images that relate to the
lyrics and uses narrative and
performance.
The song seems to be about the love a
man feels towards a woman who has left
him. So he sits on a street corner and
won’t move until she comes back. This
shows that the narrative is clearly about
love and loss.
The narrative is set on a busy city street.
There are no real costumes as
such, because there is no real need for a
specific costume and it is the lead singer
of the band who is the actor in the video.
I like the way that the video uses images
that directly link to the lyrics as it helps
the audience to visualise the lyrics and it
is like telling a story.
4. DJ Ironik
‘Stay With Me’
The song is about the relationship
between a man and a woman, the
woman is extremely ill in hospital
and its about the feelings the man
feels for her and his desperate need
for her to get better.
The video is mainly shot in a hospital
ward with the woman led on a
hospital bed.
There are no specific costumes, just
wears modern and fashionable
clothing.
I like that the images emphasise the
lyrics throughout the song and I think
that it is uses powerful images that
affects people emotions and
feelings.
