The document discusses and compares the album artwork designs, or "digipaks", of several female artists. It notes that Rihanna's digipak uses soft pink and red colors, features her hair prominently, and includes flowers representing the feminine and girly nature of her music. Lady Gaga's style is darker but still focuses on her unique and changing hair, contrasting bright colors against a black background. Katy Perry's albums have consistent themes like fruit or sweets that tie the images together. Jessie J and Nicki Minaj also prominently feature themselves throughout their digipaks to reflect their image and music. Overall, the document praises designs that maintain a consistent look and theme to represent the
2. Rihanna’s digipak is very feminine as it has a lot of
soft colors such as pink and light red. This is shown
through things such as her hair which is main image
being shown throughout the digipak as it is shown
on almost every page.
Her digipak also looks very feminine because
of the flowers that are printed on the cd and
in the pictures which is something that I really
like because I think it represents clearly what
the albums music will be like and who the
music is aimed at (mainly girls.)
The main thing I like about this digipak is the front cover as I like
the way all the space is taken up by a beauty shot of Rihanna
herself because I think that image would become known as
relating to this album in particular. I also like how all the colors
within the digipak go together as a lot of red has been used and I
think it looks better if all the colors coordinate with one another
so it has a consistent look throughout.
3. Lady Gaga’s style of her digipak is more dark then
Rihanna’s but I like the way her hair is still a main
focus point of the images that are shown and the way
it changes in every image makes interesting as it
reflects her unique often changing style.
I mainly like the way the bright colors of her hair and
her clothes have been contrasted with the dark black
background because it makes it stand out more and
look even more crazy but again keeps the look and
style consistent through out as each background color
is the same.
I also really like the way she is the main image
through out the digipak. I like the idea of each image
linking in some way whether it is through color or the
image itself.
4. Katy Perry also has a very consistent look/ theme through
out her album artwork such as in her first album her theme
was fruit and in her second album it was cakes and sweets. I
really like this idea of having a theme for a digipak because
that way every page relates and all the images tie in with
one another.
What I also really like about katy Perry’s
album layout/ look is that it is very
unique and girly so it is easy to tell who
her music is targeted at such as gender
and age.
5. What I most like about Jessie J’s album is again she is
the main image through out the album. I think this is
important as it shows they care a lot about their image
as well as their music as it might help reflect it in a way.
I also like that she has an Iconic look about her which is
her hair as it helps her stand out from other artists and
get recognised by people easily.
6. Like the other artists digipaks I have looked
at Nicki Minaj’s is also very consistent with
the look she has gone for which is pink on
her pink Friday album. She has kept it
consistent by having every page pink with
an image of her in the same outfit on each
page. I like the way this has been done
because it helps emphasise the title of her
album and just ties together well.
The same goes for her Roman reloaded
album as she has kept the same look on
each page of the album.
