    • Facebook is meant to be social, personal: like the Golf Course (or a BBQ party)
    • LinkedIn is meant to be professional: like the Conference Room ( like this room )
    • There are niche networks, by profession:
    • - LegallyMinded.com: by the American Bar Association
    • - GreenPearl.com: for commercial real estate professionals
    • - ActiveRain.com: for residential real estate professionals
    • - There will be more… and is growing through the big 2.
  • 5. How much time does it take?
    • The same as “off-line” regular networking:
    • 2 – 4 hours a week, or less?
    • Boosts your regular networking, e-newsletter, blogging, seminars, etc.
    • Remember: something is better than nothing.
    • Worth it for those growing careers for next 5 yrs
  • 6. Which step are you on now?
    • Created an account (probably responded Yes to someone else’s invitation.)
    • Filled out “some” of the profile (stuck on what else to do, and why)
    • Invited friends, some responded, some didn’t, don’t know what else to do
    • Got the basics going… what else can I do?

    • Grow your 1 st degree CONTACTS
    • Become active in, then start, GROUPS
    • Give, then ask for, ANSWERS
    • Company search : find who-knows-who in there
    • Broadcast STATUS UPDATES
    • Improve your PROFILE, with “widgets”
    • - blog posts, article links, presentations, etc.
