- Lync is design tocommunicatebetween 2 persons: I’mlookingfor person X, is he availableandcan I call him? Conferencing allowsyoutoorganize/schedule meetings betweenpeople. All these modalities are ad-hoc or plannedand the conversation is goneafter finishing.Lync Persistent Chat has a different approach: itallowsgroups of peopletoconnectaround a subject and these chat channels are alwaysavailable (persistent).
- Lync/UC is designedtobebuildaroundpeopleandallowthemtoconnectthroughvoice, video, chat or email.Persistent Chat is buildtobe the centralcommunicationchannelregarding a specific topic/subject/project.
