2. Ethiek in fondsenwerving?
− Zelf-reguleren vs. overheidsregulering.
− Democratie en vrijheid van vereniging.
5. The 5 universal principles
− Honesty: Fundraisers shall at all times act honestly and truthfully so that
the public trust is protected and donors and beneficiaries are not misled.
− Respect:Fundraisers shall at all times act with respect for the dignity of
their profession and their organisation and with respect for the dignity of
donors and beneficiaries.
− Integrity: Fundraisers will act openly and with regard to their responsibility
for public trust. They shall disclose all actual or potential conflicts of interest
and avoid any appearance of personal or professional misconduct.

the way donations are managed and disbursed, and costs and expenses, in an

16. Ethische codes zijn niet
gemaakt om…
−De markt af te sluiten
−Compliancy is gemakkelijker
grotere, gevestigde organisaties.
−Concurrenten te bevechten
−If you can't beat them,
accuse them on ethics.
19. Emoties en communicatie
−Een blijvende discussie zonder
absoluut juist of fout…
−Een juridische jungle.
−Communicatie stijl als deel van USP
/ UVP van een organisatie.
21. Publieke opinie & antwoord
−Eerlijk en redelijk.
−Uw brood ook mogen verdienen.
−Professionaliseren = kwaliteit
−Dus meer maatschappelijke impact.
−Geen excessieve verloning.
−We doen het voor een hoger ideaal.
Een vrijwilligerssector voor het algemeen
belang, die mensen betaalt om te werken…
22. Balans tussen knelpunten
−Organisatie risico’s bij mislukkende
investeringen.
−Belonen van individuen voor
inspanningen en resultaten.
−De realiteit van gedeelde
inspanningen.
−Druk op donoren (hard selling).
−Lange termijn van fondsenwerving.
24. Vormen verloning resultaat
− Commissie
− Contingent fee (voorwaardelijke vergoeding)
− Een vergoeding alleen te betalen bij gunstig resultaat.
(ook gekend als no cure no pay)
25. Pragmatische benadering
19.6 Commission
a) The Institute of Fundraising opposes commission payments
in principle, particularly those payments made on a
commission-only basis.Organisations OUGHT NOT to
use commission payments unless the following conditions
are met:
− Other sources of fundraising investment have been explored and
exhausted
− Payments are subject to approval by the fundraising organisation’s
trustees, or senior executives when power has been delegated
− Safeguards are in place to ensure excessive remuneration is not
permitted.
IoF Code of Fundraising Practice
26. Meer focus op kwaliteit dan op
verloning
19.7 Performance Management Systems
a) Robust performance management systems OUGHT to
be in place, recognising the impact of the payment
method on the fundraiser, the fundraising organisation,
the beneficiaries and the public at large.
b) Remuneration systems OUGHT to be monitored to
ensure that they continue to strike a balance between
allocating risk and incentivising fundraisers effectively.
IoF Code of Fundraising Practice
29. Garanties inbouwen
−Maximale percentages per bedrijf /
per bedrijfssector.
−Scheiding inhoud en
fondsenwerving.
−Omgaan met relatiegeschenken.
−Duidelijkheid over wat je wel en
niet in return doet.
−Terugtrekkingsvoorwaarden.
32. Waar ligt de grens?
‘Undue’
pressure
‘Due’
pressure
33. Fondsenwerven = morele plicht
− Als mensen recht op gezondheid hebben…
− Dan hebben arts de plicht gezondheidszorg toe te
dienen.
− Als mensen recht op veiligheid hebben…
− Dan hebben politieagenten de plicht te orde
handhaven.
− Als mensen recht hebben op een betere
wereld…
− Dan hebben fondsenwervers de plicht daarvoor
geld in te zamelen.
