The Characteristics Of The Seated Statue Of Hatshepsut
Seated Statue of Hatshepsut While examining the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut, initially, the first
thing one notices is the female figure of Egyptian pharaoh Hatshepsut. Although Hatshepsut is
being shown in a primarily male position, it does not take the attention away from her feminine
face and petite, graceful body. Over time, taking on the role of a pharaohchanged the perception the
world had of who Hatshepsutwas. She went from being portrayed as the beautiful women seen in
this artwork, to being depicted as an unrecognizable male figure. When comparing the Seated Statue
of Hatshepsut to other statues of Hatshepsut created overtime, one would notice a dramatic
difference. Despite the fact that she is shown wearing the ceremonial attire of an egyptian king,
(Museum Label Text, Seated Statue of Hatshepsut) there is still a very strong sense of the figure
being female. To further point out the female traits of Hatshepsut in this statue, one would notice
the rounded protruding chest that appears to be the chest of a female. On the other hand, in later
statues of Hatshepsut, one would notice that the chest is much different. Her chest went from being
round to being more square and flat, similar to those of a man. Another significant difference is the
size change between the statutes. In the seated statue of Hatshepsut, she is very petite with small
shoulders, thin arms, waist and legs. Hatshepsut is later depicted as having very wide, broad
shoulders and a muscular

Francis Crick s First Impression
Francis Crick s first impression as per Watson s view, possessed a quick, penetrative mind and
frequently sought after for advice yet not oft valued. (page 3)
Watson also attributed Crick with fast paced and loud converser and possessor of such a boisterous
/buoyant laughter that his location within the Cavendish was obvious . (Page 4)
Watson of opinion that anything that Crick would touch would eventually be regarded as the
Gospel of that field due to his brilliant insights into someone s work. (Page 4) This the very first
impression of Watson that Crick who was merely meagre in his own experimental work for his
Ph.D as represented by him flooding the hall way with water because he had neglected to prepare
his experimental equipment properly. Whereas he was extremely quick in intervening on other s
lab work and providing insights on as to how should the experiments proceed going further. This is
my opinion is the start of this coalition between sketchy Watson and intrusive Crick alliance that
obtained and used works of many prominent scientists such as Chargaff, Donohue, Wilkins,
Franklin yet failed to give proper credit due to each one of them with a marginal exception of
Wilkins.
Watson mentions British sense of fair play would not allow Francis Crick to move into the structure
of DNA that was the subject of his friend Maurice Wilkins.
Watson did not like Franklin from the very start as he painted a picture in his mind through the
portrayal of Maurice

Success of President George W. Bush
Being one of only two President whose fathers were former President, George W. Bush had big
shoes to fill. To establish himself as a separate person, Bush did his best to publicly distance
from his families privilege life. Although this in did not apply to all aspects of his presidency,
Bush handled both foreign and domestic affairs in a way he thought to be most successful for the
nation. Entering into his first term as President, Bush had some domestic changes. He severed
America s ties with international health programs that penalized the practice of abortion and
limited government funding to go towards embryonic stem cells research. While the disuse of
abortion and embryonic stem cells was viewed as successful by the unborn child, it angered many
Americans, especially knowing that scientists believed the cure to Parkinson s and Alzheimer s
diseases could be found through embryonic stem cells. To the pleasure of oil companies, Bush
advocated for a new oil exploration of the coast of Alaska in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
and allowed his Vice President to negotiate his administration s energy policy with large oil
companies during closed door meetings. However, this and a number of other harmful acts angered
environmentalists, including the rejecting Kyoto Treaty which would have limited greenhouse gas
emissions. Perhaps his largest affect on domestic affairs was the $1.3 trillion dollar tax cut, which
turned out to be unsuccessful as the federal surpluses from

The Gap And Solution State Purpose
The introduction clearly shows the document frame that provides context. The gap and solution
state purpose that provides why we design this project. It also previews the structure and content of
the document.
In the background, there are four parts: client requirements, customer requirements, safety
requirements and engineering requirement. Client requires forward looking, innovative and
dynamic playground equipments. Customer requirements include population numbers, ages range
and parent and stakeholder values. Moreover, background also provides safety requirements and
engineering requirements.
In the proposed solutions, we offer three different solutions which include necessary technology,
materials, and implementation. These solutions also include the cost and how they meet defined
requirements. Furthermore, the pros and cons are analyzed. There are a number of figures and
tables to illustrate the features of equipments.
The analysis summarizes and analyzes features that offered by each of the proposed solutions. It
discusses and compares the benefits and obstacles. Also, it ranks alternative solutions by comparing
safety, environmental impact, cost effectiveness, playappeal and customer satisfaction.
Conclusion and recommendations provide the equipment which is the best choice to meet the
community requirement. It also provides the concerns and relative solutions.

Essay On A Crack In The Edge Of The World
The novel, A Crack in The Edge of The World, by Simon Winchester is a book that educates
readers on plate tectonics and how the pushing and pulling of those plates has shaped, and in
some cases destroyed, various pieces of the American west. Winchester s focus is on the
earthquake that devastated San Francisco in 1906, but he also incorporates his travels across the
North American plate and describes how nature and society has fused as one. His book explores
constant shifts in time and the reader may find difficulty fully delighting in the never ending stream
of words. Nevertheless, the lengthy descriptions, sentences the size of paragraphs, and an excessive
use of parentheses combine to paint a vivid image of the impact the earthquakehad... Show more

The Chinese immigrant population in San Francisco before the disaster was approximately
22,000, but the quake that hit and the fire that surged killed hundreds of these people and many
of those who lived were left homeless. City planners who were eager to finally rid the city of the
Chinese came up with a plan to move the people, but the Chinese fought back. With the help of a
Chinese American man they kept the land they were living on but racism and the oppression of
the people remained. The people were left without papers so everyone in America were granted
citizenship and with this came paper sons and paper daughters. Children and relatives could hitch
a ride from China to America and claim relations to those who had now gained citizenship. The
white people didn t want that of course so they made gaining citizenship almost impossible. The
Chinese would take the long journey, arrive hoping to make it to a free land an often times would
be sent to stay in cramped shelters in horrible conditions. Once the people were liberated from these
shelters poems were found describing the awful mistreatment that Chinese immigrants endured.
Chinatown is once again an area teeming with energy, but there is no doubt that the people who
risked their lives to keep it thriving are some ballsy

Malpura Ewes
Experiment summary
The purpose of the study was to observe the effects of multiple stresses on reproduction of Malpura
ewes. The study aimed to provide evidence on multiple stressors that impact livestock productivity
in this region. Stresses investigated in this study included thermal, nutritional and walking stress,
which livestock are subjected to as a result of extremely variable temperatures, low forage
availability, and inadequate water supply. Researchers hypothesized that heat stress, in combination
with nutritional and walking stress negatively affects the reproductive abilities in Malpura ewes, a
phenomenon largely attributed to the changing climate in this region. Thus, the objective of the
study was to provide insight on the effects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I propose the study could be improved by investigating other reproductive parameters such as
ovulation rate, oocyte competency, size of follicles, and number of follicular waves. Additionally,
reproductive and stress hormone profiles including luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating
hormone (FSH), and cortisone should be measured to further explain the multiple stress
phenomenon and evaluate the adaptive capabilities of Malpura ewes. Furthermore, the
researchers did not justify the reason for choosing to subject Malpura ewes versus other breed
types. Also, the study did not mention how the walking stress was managed, where the water
source for GII was placed, the size of the area that ewes were allowed to walk and graze, nor
described the daily activity or behavior of GII ewes. Conclusions were drawn solely upon the
climatological data and distance to measure the thermal and walking stress. The study also
mentioned using intravaginal sponges for synchronization of estrus in the ewes, but did not justify
using the chosen method. Moreover, they could have used a larger sample size to increase
precision of the data and used multiple groups to test the single effects of each stress and compare
those groups to the multiple stressed groups.

Examples Of Leadership Style At Apple
The leadership style at Apple is basically revolves around Tim cook whose managerial style is
democratic as compared to Jobs who had autocratic leadership style. This change in leadership
style at the time of change leads to play strength and focus on advancing cooperation among talent
pool of Apple. Tim s leadershipstyle has motivated individuals to develop conditions where
employees prominently feel motivated to work hard. Thus, this is the only reason when workforce
motivationat Apple goes along with high performance outcomes. Therefore, the company is rich in
intrinsic and extrinsic rewards for the people whose routine mainly supports in fulfilling the aims of

It is noted that Apple Inc. produces employees who are extremely motivated and who work
affirmed at their job. However, managers within the organisation like Steve Jobs also worked
hard for motivation of his employees in order to establish the situation when all employees feel
inspired to work hard. Apple offers extrinsic and intrinsic rewards for the people on the basis of
their performance, which helps in fulfilling and achieving objectives of organisation (Hill et al.,
2014).
Apple suggests reinforcement theory of motivation since it is based on the external environment
and the situation it holds is basically for the individual. The organisation relates to positive
strengthening strategy that enhances the occurrence of preferred performance by satisfying
situation depending on it with occurrence. Apple also implies incentive compensation system that
motivates employees, which includes bonus pay, offers past payments to employees based on
achievement of specific performance targets. Employee s stock options are motivated to work

School Reform For New Jersey Tenure Laws Essay
Abstract
This paper will effectively detail the issues surrounding policy as it pertains to teacher reform for
New Jersey Tenure Laws. I will discuss why this new reform has made it impossible to terminate
non effective teachers because of the protection that TEACHNJ provides. I will also discuss
inaccuracies as it pertains to accountability and transparency under the new tenure laws. Lastly, I
will discuss the teacher rating system and evaluation system that rates teachers in four categories,
from highly effective to ineffective. Teacher evaluations would be based on measures of student
learning, such as improvement of state test scores, student work, and other practices linked to
student achievement. The New Jersey Education Association has proposed streamlining the legal
process for removing teachers, but has adamantly defended the basic job protection of tenure,
saying it prevents unfair dismissal, favoritism and attempts to save money by firing expensive
veterans. The state s largest teacher s union also vehemently opposes judging teachers largely on
test scores, saying that doing so penalizes teachers with the most difficult students, and that the
data is unreliable. Teachers are fearful of losing their jobs if they don t raise test scores, teachers
will redouble their test preparation efforts, and quality instruction will be sacrificed, NJEA
President Barbara Keshishian said in a statement. Parents should be alarmed and dismayed at this
proposal. (Brody)

participants of this study. His study highlights some of the possible causes of homelessness
where 63% of responders stated substance abuse as main reason of homelessness followed by
32% unemployment, 23% low paying job, and 5% as relationship/marriage breakup as the one
of the reasons for homelessness. Also, from this study we can see that 52% of homeless
individuals find social support by local churches and 41% from family members. As challenges
and difficulties responders of this research identified inadequate sleep/fear of being arrested,
police harassment and cruelty, dehumanization/lack of dignity/social embarrassment, and hunger
as four main ones. Lack of sleep, dehumanization/ social embarrassment, and relationship
/marriage break up can be the social factors leading to high rate of suicide among homeless
population. The similar social conditions of prior becoming homeless are described in the study
of Mabhala, Yohannes, Griffith, (2017) but in this study showed that becoming homeless is a
process characterized by a progressive waning of resilience created by a series of adverse
incidents in one s life (p. 8). Based on their study the final stage of the becoming homeless is
collapse of relationships with people with whom they live and reflected in behaviors such as AoD
usage and legal troubles. Also, this study confirmed that being in abusive environment is one of the
causes of the homelessness. Which is opening another perspective of homelessness and high

Neimann pick type c type 2 nonclasic. He was dignosed when he was 4 at the time that was early.
All children that are affected have an eye abnormality called a cherry red spot, which can be
identified with an eye examination. A red spot in the eye that cannot be seen by the naked eye is
a marker used to help diagnose a child with this disease. To properly diagnose someone the eye test

A Report into Consumer Behavioural Theory and its Implications for Benecol s Marketing Strategy
Executive Summary * Understanding consumer behaviour allows us to engage more effectively

However, the value the product gives to the consumer from a marketing perspective will be
discussed in greater details through other behavioural theories as the above chart is too rudimentary
to give explicit argument to Benecol s potential without more exploration.
Information Processing
Something highly intrinsic to the product value of Benecol is the emphasis on being the only range
of foods to contain Plant Stanol Ester, a unique cholesterol lowering ingredient. (Rasio Plc., 2011).
Getting this information to the public through advertising happens through the brand website, but
on television the advertising is focused on basic prompts that will motivate the audience into
believing in the benefits of using the product. One example is the latest UK advert which places
stress on the convenience of the product with a line in fairly small print about the plant stanol ester
underneath the visual of how easy it can be to help lower cholesterol. The information of stanols is
considered secondary in marketing the convenience product and therefore is only likely absorbed
by those already interested in the product or the advertising.
Dissonance
This theory is based on a consumer s cognitive struggle where two beliefs that are reasoned to be
true are not consistent. This process of a cognitive clash brings about a motivation to come to a
positive conclusion where a psychological compromise can occur to bring

Sports Artwork Research Paper
Artworks are frequently collected for personal gratification, while others choose art for its resale
value. You may actually have an interest somewhere in between the two. Sports art is one area
where both ends of the art appreciation spectrum are evident. If you take pleasure in sports art
for the resale value, you need to appreciate a few things when projecting resale value. What is
Sports Art? Sports Art is any painting, sculpture, or framed photographic image that depicts sports
figures, or sporting events. The types and numbers of pieces are extensive. Artwork with a base
theme in sports ranges from paintings of golf courses, to busts of famous sports figures. The more

When determining the resale value of a piece of artwork for a sports venue, consider if the
stadium or ballpark no longer exists. The artistic value of these pieces is expanded when the art

value in sports art can include a blending of the two previously discussed subjects. Paintings and
unique photography from some of the most famous games, matches, or other types of sports events
combine both the venue and the players. There are a few oil prints of Muhammad Ali fights for
instance, that are more valuable than any single print of the celebrated boxer. Researching some of
the famous events in sports will expose you to a number of the more noteworthy participants and
the venues where they performed. If you have an interest in sports art the American Sport Are

Sociological Lense
Sociology is the research and analysis of the human society; meaning sociologist examine why we
behave the way we behave, what affects our behavior, and if ordinary things are more complex
than they seem. When developing a sociological perspective it makes the familiar strange (Conley,
3). When someone is trying to think as a sociologist it is encouraged to question aspects in your life
that you thought were normal, which conveniently can make you feel unsure about what lifestyle
you are comfortable living in. A sociological perspective is gained when you learn to think through

Was I being selfish to? Did I not want another animal to be put down in the pound? Was I

life can cause you to feel uncomfortable or like a fish out of water (Conley, 6). Feeling the
uncomfortable and unsure state while being outside of your normal element means you are in
sync with your sociological imagination. Sociological imagination can be defined as the ability
to see the connections between our personal experiences and the larger forces of history
(Conley, 4), meaning you can see how your past decisions have shaped your life into the one you
are currently living. An example would be, children. They are raised to the standards of their
guardian and are taught what is right and wrong and how to live to the guardians standards as
they grow up. Children now have a personality that is shaped by the guardians that can impact
what type of people they will grow up to be. Some kids can be kind and outgoing while others
can be abusive or even shy. When the children are older and more mature they may look back on
their childhood life and realize certain life experiences has shaped them into the adult they

The Four Biological Theories Of Aging
There are many broad theories that aim to explain why and how we age. These theories generally
compete with each other and typically only focus on one or a few aspects of aging. To truly have a
comprehensive aging theory, one must look to multiple theories, both biological and social. For my
theory, components from the free radical, immunological, modernization and continuity theories are
utilized.
Because the body is made up of many interacting systems and processes, it would make sense that
many of the individual biological theories of aging would interlink with one another to create the
aging process. The free radical theory is considered an error or chance theory (Madjaroff, 2014;
Issues in Aging , p.87 88). This means that this theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the Holy Grail to the fountain of youth, mankind has been fixated with the idea of cheating
death for as long as possible. Now with the advancement of medical technology, the human
lifespan may be extended by a significant degree. If you look only at the personal benefits of
longer life, you would have more leisurely time and more time to spend with the people you care
about. But, for society as a whole, expanding the lifespan may not be the best course of action.
There are two ways you can look at the concept of life extension. Proponents of life extension
contests that longer lifespans give people the opportunity to correct mistakes they have made,
develop deeper critical thinking skills, and decrease their health care costs by postponing the

Homeschooling Is More Appropriate For Todayв
Ђ™S Student Due
Homeschooling is more appropriate for today s student due to the increase in bullying, peer and

Homeschooling offers more real life, hands on field trip type experiences, and more personal
instruction. Unfortunately, bullying, peer pressure, and overcrowded classrooms for both student
and teachers are in every school no matter if it is a public school, private, or charter school.
Bullying is one of the top reasons parents choose to homeschool their children. A study was done

Crowded classroom conditions not only make it difficult for students to concentrate on their
lessons, but inevitably limit the number of time teachers can spend on innovative teaching methods
such as cooperative learning or group work or, indeed on teaching anything beyond the barest
minimum of required material (Burnett, Rivera Batiz, Marti 1995 p. 1). Students will disrupt the
teaching atmosphere because they just don t want to learn or just don t understand what is being
taught. So, what better way to not learn when the teacher can t teach. There are some schools out
there that Students find themselves trying to learn while jammed into spaces never intended as a

poverty, international exchange students, or just plain out economy growth do to jobs coming into

Unfortunately, all of this will lead up to low grade point average and poor grades on the national

Socratic Method Of Teaching And Study Philosophy
1. Explain some of the benefits a student may gain by studying philosophy.
Some of the benefits a student gains by studying philosophy is having the ability to gain
knowledge and think more clearly. You learn skills, seek wisdom and get an understanding of our
world through various branches. Helps us appreciate where the world came from, where we came
from. Using our critical thinking we evaluate information and reach a conclusion due to the
analyzation. We learn ethics, what is real, how others see things. We gain cognitive, moral and
spiritual development by studying philosophy.
2. Explain the Socratic Method of Teaching. Is this a useful way for students to learn?
Socratic Method is a way of thinking that involves three steps, first step is you give an initial
definition, second step you find exceptions to that definition and you present them in a form of
question. Then the third step you give a better definition of the concept. Repeat all these steps until
you discover the essence of the concept. Socratic method has its pros and cons not every student
learns the same way it might be a good method for one student or might be easier for one but not
for the other. Everyone is unique and different.
3. Explain how critical thinking can be used to analyze a philosophical issue.
Critical thinking is about making sure that you have good reasons for your beliefs.
Critical thinking is used by reasoning and examining the information given to her person to analyze

Analysis Of Quarantine The Loners
The book Quarantine the loners starts out with the main character David who figures out his
girlfriend Hillary has been cheating on him with one of his teammates from his football team.
David s mother did about a year back and David s girlfriend said he hasn t been the same ever
since she passed away and Hillary wouldn t wanna be with David anymore. The next day David
and Will were heading back to school which was a new school with the same teachers and
students just a new school. Right as David and Will enter the school another part of it explodes a
canopy has been dropped on top of the school, soldiers rush in and tell the students they have been
Quarantined because of a virus the teen has that could killothers and infect them the teen has came
there from a local testing facility. The virus can kill or spread to anyone of any age or size when
coming close to the infected teen or people.
David has seen two teachers that have been exposed to the teens so far and they are dead. Life
has gotten worse in that area now they have food drops that come from the soldiers from a
helicopter, the people started forming groups to get more supplies the groups would be the nerds,
jokes, sluts, freaks, and the pretty ones also there are the loners such as David which don t fit in a
group or have a group. David starts doing others laundry to get more supplies for him and his
brother for them to survive. David was outside trading when he sees a girl named lucy who was

which stopped it and saved her. When David punched Brad it knocked him to the ground and
Brad fell and hit his head on the concrete which killed Brad. David later finds out Lucy was a
member of the pretty ones but later got kicked out of the club because she would not date Brad.
Even though Lucy was apart of the pretty ones she is nice and kind hearted unlike the other girls
of that group. Later on David forms a group of the loners and the place is not very nice it is a
school dump in the downstairs area but later on the varsity group comes and attacks the building

Television In The 1950s
One of the most popular products in the 1950s was the TV. TV signals were able to reach the most
remote areas, breaking down the isolation in rural America. Besides entertainment, more and more
Americans turned to TV for latest news. As TV s popularity grew, it became integral part of
American life. Most importantly, TV promoted the development of a common culture.
In the 1950s, there were three major networks: ABC, CBS, and NBC. Most television programs
were entertainment shows. Current events and political issues were not a central focus of TV
networks. The most popular prime time TV shows were comedies. Significantly, most domestic
comedies depicted an idealized American family life and disregarded social and political issues
such as poverty and racial discrimination. For this reason, Newton Minow, a chairman of Federal
Communications Commission called it a vast wasteland. However, it was an extremely popular
wasteland.
Nonetheless, in 1952 for the first time, TV networks were able to make live broadcast of the
Republican and Democratic conventions from Philadelphia to the rest of the United States. Because
of this, rural residents were able to find out ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

potential threat to America s freedoms. Murrow s show on Joseph McCarthy led to reprimanding

Analysis Of Jerry Sandusky Scandal
In 2011 head coach Joe Paterno of Pennsylvania State University was fired after a scandal
involving Jerry Sandusky brought to light allegations of child sexual abuse that had been in the
shadows for as many as 30 plus years without any discipline. After Sandusky was found guilty
and sentenced to 30 60 years, some question whether this incident could have been prevented and
why it was kept secret for so many years. The Sandusky scandal is a good example of a concept
called Groupthink proposed by Irvan Janis (1982) that describes a dysfunctional group process
that can occur when group members focus on being cohesive, do not express disagreement or think
critically, and as a result, make bad decisions . In my paper I will highlight the concepts... Show

I do believe that had college football leadership been less uniform and remembered the fact that
the lives affected by these scandals were more important than the game of football, there may
have been less victims, and the resulting consequences would have been far less severe. The
majority of historical scandals involving college football involve paying football players,
cheating, and in some cases more severe allegations of sexual misconduct like those of Penn
State and Nebraska. Nebraska had allegations of multiple players playing watch out while another
player raped multiple victims. Many colleges have been caught in scandal only to repeat the same
scandal over and over until the NCAA drops the ball on them. Coaches are known to have the
attitude that wins are more important than anything else. Perhaps this culture comes from the high
turnover level of coaches who fail to present a winning team. It is not only the coaches but
teammates as well who feel they need to keep quiet in difficult situations. In the NFL, other
examples like Tom Brady s deflate gate, Adrian Peterson s child abuse case, and Ray Rice s
domestic violence case, are all examples of teammates and team staff knowing about certain
situations and either not caring or pushing things under the rug only to win games. It only takes one
whistleblower to report incidents that are criminal in nature and protect innocent victims from

Comparison of Into My Heart and I remember I remember
Both poems are about the past and are similar in many ways, but I remember, I remember seems
much more upbeat about the past than into my heart
A.E. Housman s poem describes the lost content of a speaker who is made unhappy when he
realises the happy times he had when he was young are gone forever.
In Thomas Hood s poem the speaker is also made unhappy when he is made aware that he can
never re visit those happy times he experienced as a child. They both explain the same idea in a
different way; Into my heart makes its point in an obviously sombre way, but I remember I

far country symbolises time rather than distance. It is a memory from a long time ago that is very
different from the life that the speaker is now leading. The memories seem happy because the
symbolic landscape is rural and idyllic. This landscape has hills, farms and spires, which suggest
that the speaker once led a simple life, which is very different from the life he is now leading, and
a life to which he can never return.
I remember, I remember uses a child s perspective to represent the past: the little window where
the sun came peeping in at morn, and he thought the fir trees dark and high were close against
the sky because that is how gigantic they mu st seem, to a child who is not yet fully grown. Each
stanza focuses on a different detail of his past, but they all use the same structure, in every stanza a
pleasant memory is said, followed by how upset he is that he can never experience it again, in
Fact he is so upset that he wants to die and there are many references to death in the poem: I often
wish the night had borne my breath away! and
[The] summer pools could hardly cool the fever on my brow! are just two examples.
His memories are full of bright colours and natural imagery, the reds and whites, roses, violets and
lilies, swallows, feathers, summer pools and fresh air, all help to make the speakers memories
more vivid and fresh. The speaker s memories are

Scientific method is a set of rules about how to establish rules. Not only to solve scientific

is observe that is when a person observe something that they cannot readily explain with their
knowledge. The second is define the problem, is when you have clear what is the thing that you
cannot explain, also is like the question. Next, review the literature, check if everything that you
are going to use is okay and if you understand so you can get to the point without problems.
Another, observe some more, it is basically the same as the first step but here you have to observe

No One Is More Vulnerable During Wartime Than Prisoners
No one is more vulnerable during wartime than prisoners of war (POW s). They are at the
mercy of an enemy who they had been trying to kill and defeat up until the moment of their
capture. During previous wars, this rather precarious situation was handled with a certain
amount of professionalism and dignity on the part of captors. The two world wars in Europe are
cases in which POW s were given a fair amount of food, clothing, and the ability to write and
receive letters in most cases. However, the war in the Pacific involving the United States and the
Japanese involved a great deal of abuse and substandard treatment of POW s resulting in a death
rate of about 40% compared to only 1% in the European theater. The Soviet Union also did... Show

One of their main weapons in achieving this end was to exploit the American POW s.
In past wars, once POW s were captured they were for all intents and purposes out of the war. They
could no longer fight the enemy and resistance was limited to defying camp regulations. Vietnam
would be different. Instead of being out of the fight, the men in captivity found themselves on the
front lines of North Vietnam s war of propaganda. They would be beaten, tortured, and isolated on
a daily basis for years on in, but they would continue to do everything in their power to resist the
North Vietnamese. They understood that they still had a role to play in the war and that in order to
survive and return home with honor, they had to stand together and support one another.
Throughout the eight years in which American POW s were held in Hanoi and surrounding areas
would fight on as if they were still actively engaged in the war. They did this for their country in
spite of the atrocious living conditions, mental agony, physical suffering, and a great deal of
homesickness.
The first American pilot to arrive in Hanoi as a POW was Lieutenant Everett Alvarez when on
August 5, 1964 his A4 Skyhawk was shot down over the Gulf of Tonkin in North Vietnam. He was
lightly questioned about his activities with the United States, but was not pushed to answer
questions. He was treated well and given food, water, a chance to bathe, and he also received

Amenorrhoea
INTRODUCTION
Amenorrhoea is the absence of menstrual bleeding. It is a normal feature in prepubertal, pregnant
and postmenopausal women. Pregnancy is the first to be considered in females with amenorrhoea
in reproductive age. In the absence of pregnancy, the challenge is to determine the exact cause of
amenorrhoea.
Primary amenorrhoea is difficult to define as there is a great variation in the time of onset of
menstruation. However, it coincides well with the development of puberty or secondary sexual
characteristics. Undeveloped secondary sexual characteristics at a certain age indicates problem.
Therefore, the definition of primary amenorrhoea needs to include the development of secondary

Analysis Of The Literary Works Of Bash ЕЊ, Khayyam, And Tagore
The World is an Image
Image, as a word, originates from Latin imago which means to imitate (Varshney 86). Hence,
imagery in literature is an artificial imitation of the external form of an object (Varshney 86). In
other words, an image is a form of expressing thoughts and feelings through representing reality by
employing visual expressions. In the literary works of BashЕЌ, KhayyГЎm, and Tagore, natural
imagery play a fundamental role in illustrating inner thoughts, vocalizing silent feelings, and
dramatizing frozen emotions. A good deal of Western scholarship on the works of BashЕ
Ќ, Omar
KhayyГЎm, and Tagore describe the employment(s) of imagery (among other literary techniques)
in their poems and prose as avant grade, which minimizes the literary traditions of the East and
narrowly historicizes the notion of avant grade. If avant grade, as a western concept, means
expressing thoughts and emotions through unorthodox or untraditional approaches, then it cannot
be applied to the works of Basho, Khayyam, and Tagore without ignoring the literary past. As
Kawamoto declares, nothing is absolutely new it can be new only when it is compared to
something else that has already existed (Kawamoto 712). Language, in itself, is traditional it can
evolve and develop, but it cannot break roots with the past. Imagist poetry thrives within short
formulated poems, like in the works of Basho and Omar Khayyam, for two major reasons. First,
short poems don t leave a

Racism Research Paper On Racism
This research paper strives to test the hypothesis of whether racism is on a rise due to President
Trump being in office or was racism on a rise before President Trump got in office. As stated in
the statement purpose this research question comes from incidents in my own personal life, from
social patterns I have observed, and from the significance of the election of President trump.
Growing up in as an African in America, noticing the racial tensions, and seeing how it has
evolved to what it is today in our society led me to pursue the topic.
Questions to be answered through this research to come up with an answer to the hypothesis are;
what the reason why now there is an emergence of all these hate groups that were not relevant
before the election of President trump. The question of racism in the United States, whether it has
increased over the years. The question of if have we learnt to tolerate and accept racism as being
part of our society. To conduct this research the methods to be used are as follows; examining
newspaper articles, news stories, internet articles, and journals, and books would test my
hypothesis. Conducting a survey to find out what others think, and to noting if their views align
with my hypothesis will assist in answering the research questions.
The first method is a literature review. This is the process of searching for, reading, summarizing,
and synthesizing existing work on a topic or the resulting written summary of a search (Emily Stier

Comprehensive social, emotional, and psychological screening helps target related disorders and
provide important direction in tailoring a treatment plan. Clients may be asked questions about
eating patterns, thoughts, and behaviors.
3. Nutritional Counseling Dieting focuses too much on the scale and the food. Pressures from
counting calories, food diaries, reading labels, too low calorie plans, and avoiding certain foods
using willpower can aggravate symptoms and quickly trigger binge eating. Behavioral weight loss
programs directly target obesity, which typically results from binge eating disorder. These
medically supervised programs use components of cognitive behavioral therapy. They make sure
your nutritional needs are met while also helping you learn to recognize and change faulty beliefs
about yourself and food and to cope better with triggers. Short in duration, they are fairly
inexpensive. Nutrition evaluations with a dietician help you to create an individualized, safe food
plan. It helps dispel some of the myths in the mixed messages we get from the media and society
about dieting, body image, and fast food. This can be useful when paired with self help treatments
and a behavioral weight loss program is unavailable.
4. Medications Some types of medications may help reduce symptoms of binge eating disorder, but

Strength And Weaknesses Of Unitary Government In The...
The United States of America declared freedom from Great Britain in 1776. There were thirteen
colonies that decided to arrange a necessary government. After battling the difficulties of living
under a monarchy, the Founding Fathers have set up a Federation with ideas of foreign
governments: unitary and confederal. The American Federalism government, Unitary, and
Confederal government have strength and weaknesses in running countries. Countries such as
Switzerland and Cuba use a Unitarian government system (Unitary State Countries, 2015 2018). A
Unitary government is very small centralized and controls the legal and moral legislation for both
the state and the country (Apecsecadmin 2015). The most damaging result of this system is the
lack of clear communication between the government and citizens. This type of government cannot
identify or respond quickly to a direct issue within a local city or state. The advantages, however on
the other hand do allow for prompt judgments for the entire country, this includes passing laws and

The Confederal system was made up the first thirteen colonies that saw themselves as their own
countries. The states had the ability to create treaties with each other. The Articles of Confederal
were able to win the war against Britain and declare national freedom. The advantage and
disadvantage of a confederal system is to avert a strong central government. The lack of a strong
government causes a loose relationship between the states, thus the inability to enforce tax
collections or laws. A weak government on the other hand, cannot abuse the powers causing a
tyranny ruling of the individual states (Kelly 2017). The vision of the confederal system was to
keep the power at home and allow states to share directly with the citizens. This form of
government is considered the transformation period (Greengarbage

This play ranks near the top. The Bard s presentation of emotions, character, of good and evil

Such human wisdom can be found in Iago s initial words to sleepy Brabantio: Zounds, sir, y are
robbed! For shame, put on your gown! / Your heart is burst; you have lost half your soul. Indeed,
the disappearance of Desdemona from home would seem as such to an elderly father. Human
wisdom is obvious again and again; for example, when the senator escorts the general to the
council, the duke addresses the valiant Othello without even noticing the senator at first: I did not
see you. Welcome, gentle signior. As Othello begins his address before council, he employs much
wisdom in the first two verses: Most potent, grave, and reverend signiors, / My very noble, and
approved good masters, by being as complimentary as possible, it would seem.
Shakespeare s human wisdom no doubt comes partially from his understanding of the workings of
man s mind. He possesses the ability to analyze in a psychological manner. Harry Levin s General
Introduction to The Riverside Shakespeare includes these comments regarding the psychological
aspect of Shakespeare s characters:
During the later eighteenth and most of the nineteenth century, Shakespeare s interpreters
practiced what Bernard Shaw liked to call Bardolatry. They all but deified the Bard of Avon
because he was the creator of so many characters who could be treated as if they were human

Presidents Of Washington And Lincoln
Every four years, for decades and decades, U.S. citizens have been faced with the challenge of
deciding which presidential candidate they ll vote for. Sometimes presidents with severe
deficiencies in character have been elected, sometimes others lacking leadership skills and the
ability to tackle the problems and difficulties posed by the presidency. However, there have also
been some presidents who, though not without their flaws, have remained as a model of an ideal
presidentto many people. Washington and Lincoln are two of these presidents, who exemplified
many admirable qualities as leaders.
This year, voters will again have to choose who they think would be the most qualified candidate.
But before this can be determined, it has to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, ideally, the president should not be someone who primarily desires the fame and
power that comes with the presidency. Instead, they should be someone who truly desires the
good of the country, even if it will make them less popular. Take George Washington, for example.
He was already a respected and well liked leader, but he did not want to assume the position of
president. In his inaugural speech, he said, On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country,
whose voice I can never hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with
the fondest predilection, and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of
my declining years... (Washington). He then went on to express how insufficient he felt for the task
of being president.
It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major
undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they
should have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the
president should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and
did not do things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for
them to gain the respect of the people.
The president should also be a good problem solver, should be knowledgeable in the laws and
policies of the country,

Throughout history individuals have been expected to follow the rules of the majority, the demands

The paid night watch constables and thief takers all exemplify poor policing strategies that failed by
employing incompetent individuals who do not effectively perform good policing which resulted to
the creation of poor relations within the community.
In the Eighteenth Century, the term police began to be used much to the disappointment of many
English men. One contributor was Henry Fielding, who was appointed as a Magistrate to Bow
Street in 1848. He conceived the idea of crime prevention as a role for the police. He believed that
controlling crime required the cooperation of the public, a strong police force and the elimination
of the causes, thus considered community policing philosophy, considered crime prevention as an
important element of policing

2.1 Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneur And Enterprise Skills.
2.1 Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneur and Enterprise Skills
Defining the very essence of entrepreneurship is part of a longstanding theoretical debate (Henry,
Hill Leitch, 2005, p. 99). Definitions are particularly important in the field because many of the
terms associated with the discipline, such as entrepreneurship, entrepreneur and enterprise, are often
used interchangeably. For the purpose of this review, the definition of entrepreneurship is
synonymous with Gibb (2007), who describes entrepreneurship as sets of behaviours, attributes and
skills that allow individuals and groups to create change and innovation, cope with and even enjoy
higher levels of uncertainty and complexity (Gibb, 2007, p. 1). Meanwhile, the term entrepreneur

2.2 Importance of Entrepreneurship Education
The importance of the role of EE and enterprise skills is highlighted in both European and global
development views (Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD), 2015).
While a strong emphasis on economic success and job creation has propelled EE at tertiary level,
there has not been an integrated approach in the secondary education sector (OECD, 2015).
However, development is underway, with international education institutions facing policy pressure
to explicitly embed EE in the curriculum (Mwasalwiba, 2012).
A crucial reason for teaching entrepreneurial skills to youth is to help prepare them for employment
and, in some cases, influence self employment and choosing entrepreneurship as a career path.
However, EE is not about simply creating entrepreneurs and businesses. It is about teaching students
enterprise skills, transferable to the real world. Taking part in incubator style programs teaches
students that failure is acceptable; they learn resilience which is key in the competitive 21st
Century employment landscape. This is reflected in the following textbook quote: Businesses fail,
but entrepreneurs do not. Failure is often the fire that tempers the steel of an entrepreneur s
learning and street savvy (Timmons, 1999, p. 47). Resilience, along with skills such as problem
solving and creativity, are highly desired by Australian employers, as demonstrated in recent

History Of Gum Disease
Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support the teeth. It starts with
inflammation of gums (gingivitis) which when left untreated may proceed to cause bone loss
(periodontitis). As the support of the tooth is lost, gum diseases lead to lose teeth.
Cause: The primary cause of gum diseases is plaque, the sticky bio film of bacteria that is
constantly forming on our teeth. But there are following factors which increase the risk of
developing it:
Poor oral hygiene
Smoking or chewing tobacco
Genetics and family history of gum diseases
Crooked teeth that are hard to keep clean
Pregnancy, hormonal changes
Other diseases like diabetes, cancer, HIV
Medications like steroids, anti epilepsy drugs, cancer therapy drugs, some ... Show more content on

Other studies showed that women with gum disease were more likely to deliver preterm, low birth
weight babies.
Treatment options: The goal of treatment is to reduce swelling, the depth of pockets and stop
disease progression. Treatment options depend on the stage of disease, past history of gum disease,
response to earlier treatment and overall health.
Gingivitis, an early stage of the gum disease is still reversible as the disease is still only isolated to
gums and hasn t yet spread to the bone. It can be easily treated with simple non invasive
professional cleaning by the dentist, followed by daily brushing, flossing and mouthwash rinses.
Periodontitis, an advanced gum disease has spread to the bone and requires surgical treatment.
Scaling of teeth The first and foremost treatment is cleaning of the teeth by a dentist to remove the
plaque and tartar/calculus (hardened bacterial film). This removes the bacteria and thus controls

Acquisition Of ( Conrail ) Consolidated Rail Corporation
CASE: ACQUISITION OF (Conrail) CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION (50 MARKS)
Question 1: Reason for reference to Conrail as a scarce jewel ? (4mks) Conrail had its operations
within the Northeast market, a rail network that other rail companies were yet to explore. It
connected the Northeastern cities to the Midwestern and Southern cities. Even though Conrail
had a high cost position, the revenue it obtains relative per mile track operated is the highest,
giving it a high operating ratio, hence potential to increase income. For this reason, great
synergies would be created should there be a merger with CSX, Norfolk Southern or any other
rail company at all. Additionally, analysts view that either company that would get the merger
with Conrail might reduce business for the other company or lead to its collapse. This reference
as a scarce jewel is further exhibited in the wars that arose after CSX and Conrail announced
their intentions to form a merger. These wars are in form of the offers made to Conrail that ended
up in a lawsuit by Norfolk Southern to stop the Conrail CSX merger. Question two: Motives in
acquiring Conrail for; CSX (3.5mks) Creation of synergy CSX wanted to have an economic
advantage in terms of operational efficiency and increased capital. Analyzing the projected benefits
laid out in the case, on a successful merger, the new entity would have revenues worth $8.6 billion
and 68% of the Eastern market. Their operating income would also

Essay about The American Dream Facade
If the American Dream had to be captured within a frozen image, how would the visualization be
conveyed? For the majority of today s society, the image would likely include the traditional father,
mother, and child(ren) standing pleasantly beside a moderate two story home, a well kept lawn, and
neatly trimmed hedges. In the background of this family portrait, a guarded and welcoming
neighborhood would appear, complete with similar home designs and family arrangements lining
its streets. In other words, the image of the American Dreamresides within the typical American
suburb. And within this typical suburb lies (supposedly) the remaining components of the ideal
Americanlifestyle.
From the moment William Levitt created the first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Largely a result of the lifestyles portrayed on suburban based television shows, the suburbs have
consistently been deemed the ideal environment for the ideal family of high moral standards From
the initial episodes of Leave it to Beaver in the 1950 s to the modernized episodes of Home
Improvement in the 1990 s, suburban TV sitcoms have bombarded America with images of hard
working and devoted mother/father pairs who guide their essentially normal children through the
obstacles of childhood and adolescence. As the television critic Michael V. Tueth revealed in a
recent publication of the Journal of Popular Film and Television, these television shows allowed
suburbia to evolve into the home of parental wisdom and spousal forgiveness as well as children s
fantasies and nonsense (98). Surprisingly, because America s actual suburban children record and
obtain overall success through adulthood, these television lifestyles did not seem too far fetched.
Unfortunately, through recent years, this affirmed connection between the suburbs and the perfect
family environment has become more of an intended assumption rather than a reality.
While today s society places great significance on acquiring the appearance of the traditional
America family, it places little, if any, importance on actually filling its shoes. When two teenagers

Why Division One Athletes Should not Be Paind by their...
Dr. BrenГ© Brown, a writer, researcher, and educator was quoted as saying, what separates
privilege from entitlement is gratitude. By focusing in on today s society, ethics has taken a
backseat to making an extra buck. While Division One Universities are making upward from seven
to nine figures in revenue each year off of their athletics department, athletes on athletic
scholarships are starting to get intolerant to not receiving any incentives for playing the game they
love. These athletes are becoming so disheartened by the system that they are now speaking out to
the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and the NLRB (National Labor Relations
Board) about how they deserve to receive cash incentives for the performance and time they devote
to their athletics for the University. However, why should these athletes be entitled to additional
money? They should be grateful for the privileges and opportunities they receive at the University
and reap the benefits that are intangible to them. Division One athletes should not be able to receive
payment in order to participate in their Universities Athletic programs.
One Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand dollars a year is how much some Division One
Collegiate Athletes on Athletic scholarships are getting paid up to each year according to
Forbes.com. When it comes down to it, why do they need to be paid anymore? These student
athletes who are already on athletic scholarship are essentially being compensated already due to

Aquarium and Conservatory
The first time a person looks upon the visual piece on the outside of the Belle Isle Aquarium, even
if that person does not speak English, they can easily deduce what is hidden within the interesting
building. The outside shows koi fish, shells (a sign of welcome), Roman God of the sea (Neptune)
as the keystone on the arch, and a cartouche displaying the seal of the city of Detroit. This is all
done in Terra Cotta, interestingly enough. With this being the entrance, upon entering the building
any person would know that they would soon meet aquatic creatures. The Conservatory is very
architecturally different from the Aquarium, which is slightly humorous considering the two
buildings were once connected. This building has a large... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The floor was once a lovely marble, but has since regrettably been replaced with bath tile in that
1954 renovation (Mayell). A long time ago, spittoons were everywhere, dating the old building
quite a bit. The cross shaped floor plan allows the maximum amount of tanks while providing a
sense of mystery to discover exhibits behind the hidden corners (Boardman). At the end of the
aquarium was once a home to otters, however, they started to create too much of an odor so they
had to be removed. There was once also a large shrunken pool under the dome that was home to an
alligator and turtles.
At the time of its opening, the Aquarium was among the sixth largest in the world (Austin). High
tech equipment, for this time, was installed and permitted for the keeping of both seawater and
fresh water marine life and the observance of the correct water temperatures in the correct tanks.
The water was recycled through the tanks because, according to marine preservationists, fish
survive better in water they have already lived in (Austin). Originally, an 8,531 gallon center
tank with a railing around it occupied the center of the building and was topped off with filtered
water that snaked through 5 miles of piping. The Conservatory is not only a Greenhouse, but also
a Botanical garden, and has a dome of its own. At 85 feet high, its dome provides 100,600 cubic
feet for large palm trees (Baross). Other plants include banana trees,

The Great Gatsby Compare And Contrast Essay
The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald is one of the most famous books in American literature.
This books shows American life during the 1920s and how greed and materialism were taking over
the American dream. The film director, Baz Luhrmann puts his effort to turn Fitzgerald s
masterpiece into the movie, The Great Gatsby. The actor in the movie do a pretty decent job in
portraying the characters in the book. The narrator of the book, Nick Carraway, is played by
Tobey Maguire. Maguire does a nice job of showing how disturbed by the events that occurred in
the East. However, Maguire doesn t seem as observant as Nick is in the book. Nick usually
realizes little details and he like to elaborate about them. Though, this could just be because they
can only put just a few main things about the book in two and a half hour timespan. Leonardo
DiCaprio plays... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A main difference is that Nick is found in a sanitarium, telling the doctor all the events that led
up to Gatsby s death. This does not take place in the book. He never goes to a doctor to get help.
In fact, Nick goes back to the home in the Middle west to write the story. Another difference is
that in the movie Jordan Baker doesn t tell Nick about Tom s affair, when Nick goes to Daisy s
house for the first time. In the book, Jordan does tell Nick that Tom is having an affair when
Daisy leaves. Nick and Jordan s relationship is not shown too much in the movie, which is a
downside of the movie. The book, however, shows that they were dating, their break up, and
their first kiss. Also the part where everyone goes to New York is also different. At the hotel in
the movie, Gatsby gets really mad and he almost hits Tom. Gatsby doesn t do anything like that in
the book. This made the movie more entertaining and it showed it showed daisy going away from
Gatsby better. Even with these changes, the basic plot of the book and the movie is basically the

Tim Peake Summary
The Christian Science Monitor article, PUT THE TITLE HERE, PUT THE LINK HERE,
discusses the dangers of space travel with astronaut Tim Peake. According to Peake, a window
on the International Space Station (ISS) was damaged by a paint chip sized piece of metal. He
contends that the ISS can withstand this type of small hit by debris. However, a strike by larger
Space debris could be hazardous. In fact, the ISS had to do a planned maneuver to get out of the
way of a larger piece of debris. For many years debris from inoperable satellites has accumulated in
Earths orbit. The trash left from these satellites is posing an increasing threat to current missions.
In the year 1998, The National Research Council (NRC) of the National Academy of Sciences
equated the danger from space debris to that of a spacecraft s launch or reentry. And since that
time, the amount of debris in space has more than doubled. Another issue that contributes to the
danger of the debris, is that it is traveling in space at 17,500 miles per hour. At this rate, even a
small piece of debris could cause serious damage. Consequently, there have been many ideas put
forth about how to rid Space of all... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undoubtedly, less prosperous countries will not be able to travel to Space if they have to take
on the added expense of outfitting their spacecraft with de orbiting technology. However, Space
travel is a luxury, not a necessity. If a country cannot afford the added expense then that country
is not ready to partake in Space travel. Also, various companies and countries will wish to choose
their own way to manage the decomposition of their spacecraft. I think this is negotiable, as long
as they do have a viable plan in place before travel. However, an International law that requires a
standardized method for removing debris and planning for future debris would be easier to monitor

Oman And The Middle East Stratum
Over the past thousand years, Oman has occupied a key strategic space in the Middle East stratum.
With its vast mountain ranges, desert terrain, and steep cliffs along the coast, Oman over the years
has proven to be very difficult to invade. This has allowed Oman to repel the majority of attacks
from foreign militaries and maintain their sovereignty. The Southern and Eastern coastline of the
country represents the key that makes Omanso important to the strength of the Middle East. Oman
is a major piece to the peace in the Middle East. Oman lies in the southeast corner of the Arabian
Peninsula right on the Tropic of Cancer latitude line (International, 2011). Yemen, Saudi Arabia
, and
the United Arab Emiratesborder Oman from the southeast, west, and the north. Oman also claims
many islands in the Arabian Sea and in the Strait of Hormuz off Oman s northern tip. Similar to its
surrounding nations, Oman has a mountain range that spans the country. The Hajar mountain range
begins at the north west tip and extends down its western border to the southwest, near Yemen
(International, 2011). The Omanis compare The Hajar to a human backbone, for it forms a great
arc much like the human skeleton. The Interior of Oman is mostly sand dunes, rocks, and gravel,
which is very similar to the entire Middle East region (International, 2011). Oman s coastline
stretches 1,700 km from North to South. Low hills and wastelands with little vegetation is what fill
these coastlines

  • 2. The Characteristics Of The Seated Statue Of Hatshepsut Seated Statue of Hatshepsut While examining the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut, initially, the first thing one notices is the female figure of Egyptian pharaoh Hatshepsut. Although Hatshepsut is being shown in a primarily male position, it does not take the attention away from her feminine face and petite, graceful body. Over time, taking on the role of a pharaohchanged the perception the world had of who Hatshepsutwas. She went from being portrayed as the beautiful women seen in this artwork, to being depicted as an unrecognizable male figure. When comparing the Seated Statue of Hatshepsut to other statues of Hatshepsut created overtime, one would notice a dramatic difference. Despite the fact that she is shown wearing the ceremonial attire of an egyptian king, (Museum Label Text, Seated Statue of Hatshepsut) there is still a very strong sense of the figure being female. To further point out the female traits of Hatshepsut in this statue, one would notice the rounded protruding chest that appears to be the chest of a female. On the other hand, in later statues of Hatshepsut, one would notice that the chest is much different. Her chest went from being round to being more square and flat, similar to those of a man. Another significant difference is the size change between the statutes. In the seated statue of Hatshepsut, she is very petite with small shoulders, thin arms, waist and legs. Hatshepsut is later depicted as having very wide, broad shoulders and a muscular ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

(page 3) Watson also attributed Crick with fast paced and loud converser and possessor of such a boisterous /buoyant laughter that his location within the Cavendish was obvious . (Page 4) Watson of opinion that anything that Crick would touch would eventually be regarded as the Gospel of that field due to his brilliant insights into someone s work. (Page 4) This the very first impression of Watson that Crick who was merely meagre in his own experimental work for his Ph.D as represented by him flooding the hall way with water because he had neglected to prepare his experimental equipment properly. Whereas he was extremely quick in intervening on other s lab work and providing insights on as to how should the experiments proceed going further. This is my opinion is the start of this coalition between sketchy Watson and intrusive Crick alliance that obtained and used works of many prominent scientists such as Chargaff, Donohue, Wilkins, Franklin yet failed to give proper credit due to each one of them with a marginal exception of Wilkins. Watson mentions British sense of fair play would not allow Francis Crick to move into the structure of DNA that was the subject of his friend Maurice Wilkins. • 4. Success of President George W. Bush Being one of only two President whose fathers were former President, George W. Bush had big shoes to fill. To establish himself as a separate person, Bush did his best to publicly distance from his families privilege life. Although this in did not apply to all aspects of his presidency, Bush handled both foreign and domestic affairs in a way he thought to be most successful for the nation. Entering into his first term as President, Bush had some domestic changes. He severed America s ties with international health programs that penalized the practice of abortion and limited government funding to go towards embryonic stem cells research. While the disuse of abortion and embryonic stem cells was viewed as successful by the unborn child, it angered many Americans, especially knowing that scientists believed the cure to Parkinson s and Alzheimer s diseases could be found through embryonic stem cells. To the pleasure of oil companies, Bush advocated for a new oil exploration of the coast of Alaska in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and allowed his Vice President to negotiate his administration s energy policy with large oil companies during closed door meetings. However, this and a number of other harmful acts angered environmentalists, including the rejecting Kyoto Treaty which would have limited greenhouse gas emissions. Perhaps his largest affect on domestic affairs was the $1.3 trillion dollar tax cut, which turned out to be unsuccessful as the federal surpluses from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Essay On A Crack In The Edge Of The World The novel, A Crack in The Edge of The World, by Simon Winchester is a book that educates readers on plate tectonics and how the pushing and pulling of those plates has shaped, and in some cases destroyed, various pieces of the American west. Winchester s focus is on the earthquake that devastated San Francisco in 1906, but he also incorporates his travels across the North American plate and describes how nature and society has fused as one. His book explores constant shifts in time and the reader may find difficulty fully delighting in the never ending stream of words. Nevertheless, the lengthy descriptions, sentences the size of paragraphs, and an excessive use of parentheses combine to paint a vivid image of the impact the earthquakehad... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Chinese immigrant population in San Francisco before the disaster was approximately 22,000, but the quake that hit and the fire that surged killed hundreds of these people and many of those who lived were left homeless. City planners who were eager to finally rid the city of the Chinese came up with a plan to move the people, but the Chinese fought back. With the help of a Chinese American man they kept the land they were living on but racism and the oppression of the people remained. The people were left without papers so everyone in America were granted citizenship and with this came paper sons and paper daughters. Children and relatives could hitch a ride from China to America and claim relations to those who had now gained citizenship. The white people didn t want that of course so they made gaining citizenship almost impossible. The Chinese would take the long journey, arrive hoping to make it to a free land an often times would be sent to stay in cramped shelters in horrible conditions. Once the people were liberated from these shelters poems were found describing the awful mistreatment that Chinese immigrants endured. Chinatown is once again an area teeming with energy, but there is no doubt that the people who risked their lives to keep it thriving are some ballsy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Malpura Ewes Experiment summary The purpose of the study was to observe the effects of multiple stresses on reproduction of Malpura ewes. The study aimed to provide evidence on multiple stressors that impact livestock productivity in this region. Stresses investigated in this study included thermal, nutritional and walking stress, which livestock are subjected to as a result of extremely variable temperatures, low forage availability, and inadequate water supply. Researchers hypothesized that heat stress, in combination with nutritional and walking stress negatively affects the reproductive abilities in Malpura ewes, a phenomenon largely attributed to the changing climate in this region. Thus, the objective of the study was to provide insight on the effects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I propose the study could be improved by investigating other reproductive parameters such as ovulation rate, oocyte competency, size of follicles, and number of follicular waves. Additionally, reproductive and stress hormone profiles including luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), and cortisone should be measured to further explain the multiple stress phenomenon and evaluate the adaptive capabilities of Malpura ewes. Furthermore, the researchers did not justify the reason for choosing to subject Malpura ewes versus other breed types. Also, the study did not mention how the walking stress was managed, where the water source for GII was placed, the size of the area that ewes were allowed to walk and graze, nor described the daily activity or behavior of GII ewes. Conclusions were drawn solely upon the climatological data and distance to measure the thermal and walking stress. The study also mentioned using intravaginal sponges for synchronization of estrus in the ewes, but did not justify using the chosen method. Moreover, they could have used a larger sample size to increase precision of the data and used multiple groups to test the single effects of each stress and compare those groups to the multiple stressed groups. ... • 9. School Reform For New Jersey Tenure Laws Essay Abstract This paper will effectively detail the issues surrounding policy as it pertains to teacher reform for New Jersey Tenure Laws. I will discuss why this new reform has made it impossible to terminate non effective teachers because of the protection that TEACHNJ provides. I will also discuss inaccuracies as it pertains to accountability and transparency under the new tenure laws. Lastly, I will discuss the teacher rating system and evaluation system that rates teachers in four categories, from highly effective to ineffective. Teacher evaluations would be based on measures of student learning, such as improvement of state test scores, student work, and other practices linked to student achievement. The New Jersey Education Association has proposed streamlining the legal process for removing teachers, but has adamantly defended the basic job protection of tenure, saying it prevents unfair dismissal, favoritism and attempts to save money by firing expensive veterans. The state s largest teacher s union also vehemently opposes judging teachers largely on test scores, saying that doing so penalizes teachers with the most difficult students, and that the data is unreliable. Teachers are fearful of losing their jobs if they don t raise test scores, teachers will redouble their test preparation efforts, and quality instruction will be sacrificed, NJEA President Barbara Keshishian said in a statement. Parents should be alarmed and dismayed at this proposal. (Brody) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His study highlights some of the possible causes of homelessness where 63% of responders stated substance abuse as main reason of homelessness followed by 32% unemployment, 23% low paying job, and 5% as relationship/marriage breakup as the one of the reasons for homelessness. Also, from this study we can see that 52% of homeless individuals find social support by local churches and 41% from family members. As challenges and difficulties responders of this research identified inadequate sleep/fear of being arrested, police harassment and cruelty, dehumanization/lack of dignity/social embarrassment, and hunger as four main ones. Lack of sleep, dehumanization/ social embarrassment, and relationship /marriage break up can be the social factors leading to high rate of suicide among homeless population. The similar social conditions of prior becoming homeless are described in the study of Mabhala, Yohannes, Griffith, (2017) but in this study showed that becoming homeless is a process characterized by a progressive waning of resilience created by a series of adverse incidents in one s life (p. 8). Based on their study the final stage of the becoming homeless is collapse of relationships with people with whom they live and reflected in behaviors such as AoD usage and legal troubles. Also, this study confirmed that being in abusive environment is one of the causes of the homelessness. Which is opening another perspective of homelessness and high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the value the product gives to the consumer from a marketing perspective will be discussed in greater details through other behavioural theories as the above chart is too rudimentary to give explicit argument to Benecol s potential without more exploration. Information Processing Something highly intrinsic to the product value of Benecol is the emphasis on being the only range of foods to contain Plant Stanol Ester, a unique cholesterol lowering ingredient. (Rasio Plc., 2011). Getting this information to the public through advertising happens through the brand website, but on television the advertising is focused on basic prompts that will motivate the audience into believing in the benefits of using the product. One example is the latest UK advert which places stress on the convenience of the product with a line in fairly small print about the plant stanol ester underneath the visual of how easy it can be to help lower cholesterol. The information of stanols is considered secondary in marketing the convenience product and therefore is only likely absorbed by those already interested in the product or the advertising. Dissonance This theory is based on a consumer s cognitive struggle where two beliefs that are reasoned to be true are not consistent. This process of a cognitive clash brings about a motivation to come to a positive conclusion where a psychological compromise can occur to bring ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You may actually have an interest somewhere in between the two. Sports art is one area where both ends of the art appreciation spectrum are evident. If you take pleasure in sports art for the resale value, you need to appreciate a few things when projecting resale value. What is Sports Art? Sports Art is any painting, sculpture, or framed photographic image that depicts sports figures, or sporting events. The types and numbers of pieces are extensive. When determining the resale value of a piece of artwork for a sports venue, consider if the stadium or ballpark no longer exists. The artistic value of these pieces is expanded when the art shows both a famous venue and an historic game that was played there. Famous Events Finding value in sports art can include a blending of the two previously discussed subjects. Paintings and unique photography from some of the most famous games, matches, or other types of sports events combine both the venue and the players. Sociological Lense Sociology is the research and analysis of the human society; meaning sociologist examine why we behave the way we behave, what affects our behavior, and if ordinary things are more complex than they seem. When developing a sociological perspective it makes the familiar strange (Conley, 3). When someone is trying to think as a sociologist it is encouraged to question aspects in your life that you thought were normal, which conveniently can make you feel unsure about what lifestyle you are comfortable living in. Sociological imagination can be defined as the ability to see the connections between our personal experiences and the larger forces of history (Conley, 4), meaning you can see how your past decisions have shaped your life into the one you are currently living. An example would be, children. They are raised to the standards of their guardian and are taught what is right and wrong and how to live to the guardians standards as they grow up. Children now have a personality that is shaped by the guardians that can impact what type of people they will grow up to be. • 17. The Four Biological Theories Of Aging There are many broad theories that aim to explain why and how we age. These theories generally compete with each other and typically only focus on one or a few aspects of aging. To truly have a comprehensive aging theory, one must look to multiple theories, both biological and social. For my theory, components from the free radical, immunological, modernization and continuity theories are utilized. Because the body is made up of many interacting systems and processes, it would make sense that many of the individual biological theories of aging would interlink with one another to create the aging process. The free radical theory is considered an error or chance theory (Madjaroff, 2014; Issues in Aging , p.87 88). This means that this theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Socratic Method is a way of thinking that involves three steps, first step is you give an initial definition, second step you find exceptions to that definition and you present them in a form of question. Then the third step you give a better definition of the concept. Repeat all these steps until you discover the essence of the concept. Besides entertainment, more and more Americans turned to TV for latest news. As TV s popularity grew, it became integral part of American life. Most importantly, TV promoted the development of a common culture. In the 1950s, there were three major networks: ABC, CBS, and NBC. Most television programs were entertainment shows. Current events and political issues were not a central focus of TV networks. The most popular prime time TV shows were comedies. Significantly, most domestic comedies depicted an idealized American family life and disregarded social and political issues such as poverty and racial discrimination. For this reason, Newton Minow, a chairman of Federal Communications Commission called it a vast wasteland. However, it was an extremely popular wasteland. Nebraska had allegations of multiple players playing watch out while another player raped multiple victims. Many colleges have been caught in scandal only to repeat the same scandal over and over until the NCAA drops the ball on them. Hence, imagery in literature is an artificial imitation of the external form of an object (Varshney 86). In other words, an image is a form of expressing thoughts and feelings through representing reality by employing visual expressions. In the literary works of BashЕЌ, KhayyГЎm, and Tagore, natural imagery play a fundamental role in illustrating inner thoughts, vocalizing silent feelings, and dramatizing frozen emotions. A good deal of Western scholarship on the works of BashЕ Ќ, Omar KhayyГЎm, and Tagore describe the employment(s) of imagery (among other literary techniques) in their poems and prose as avant grade, which minimizes the literary traditions of the East and narrowly historicizes the notion of avant grade. If avant grade, as a western concept, means expressing thoughts and emotions through unorthodox or untraditional approaches, then it cannot be applied to the works of Basho, Khayyam, and Tagore without ignoring the literary past. As Kawamoto declares, nothing is absolutely new it can be new only when it is compared to something else that has already existed (Kawamoto 712). • 35. Strength And Weaknesses Of Unitary Government In The... The United States of America declared freedom from Great Britain in 1776. There were thirteen colonies that decided to arrange a necessary government. After battling the difficulties of living under a monarchy, the Founding Fathers have set up a Federation with ideas of foreign governments: unitary and confederal. The American Federalism government, Unitary, and Confederal government have strength and weaknesses in running countries. Countries such as Switzerland and Cuba use a Unitarian government system (Unitary State Countries, 2015 2018). A Unitary government is very small centralized and controls the legal and moral legislation for both the state and the country (Apecsecadmin 2015). The most damaging result of this system is the lack of clear communication between the government and citizens. This type of government cannot identify or respond quickly to a direct issue within a local city or state. The advantages, however on the other hand do allow for prompt judgments for the entire country, this includes passing laws and design a budget.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Confederal system was made up the first thirteen colonies that saw themselves as their own countries. The states had the ability to create treaties with each other. The Articles of Confederal were able to win the war against Britain and declare national freedom. The advantage and disadvantage of a confederal system is to avert a strong central government. The lack of a strong government causes a loose relationship between the states, thus the inability to enforce tax collections or laws. A weak government on the other hand, cannot abuse the powers causing a tyranny ruling of the individual states (Kelly 2017). The vision of the confederal system was to keep the power at home and allow states to share directly with the citizens. This essay intends to examine various aspects of this subject, along with critical opinion. This play ranks near the top. The Bard s presentation of emotions, character, of good and evil actions that are down to earth these are sometimes seen as the main reasons for the high ranking of Othello. Louis B. (37) Such human wisdom can be found in Iago s initial words to sleepy Brabantio: Zounds, sir, y are robbed! For shame, put on your gown! / Your heart is burst; you have lost half your soul. Indeed, the disappearance of Desdemona from home would seem as such to an elderly father. Human wisdom is obvious again and again; for example, when the senator escorts the general to the council, the duke addresses the valiant Othello without even noticing the senator at first: I did not see you. Welcome, gentle signior. As Othello begins his address before council, he employs much wisdom in the first two verses: Most potent, grave, and reverend signiors, / My very noble, and approved good masters, by being as complimentary as possible, it would seem. Shakespeare s human wisdom no doubt comes partially from his understanding of the workings of man s mind. He possesses the ability to analyze in a psychological manner. Harry Levin s General Introduction to The Riverside Shakespeare includes these comments regarding the psychological aspect of Shakespeare s characters: During the later eighteenth and most of the nineteenth century, Shakespeare s interpreters practiced what Bernard Shaw liked to call Bardolatry. Sometimes presidents with severe deficiencies in character have been elected, sometimes others lacking leadership skills and the ability to tackle the problems and difficulties posed by the presidency. However, there have also been some presidents who, though not without their flaws, have remained as a model of an ideal presidentto many people. In addition, ideally, the president should not be someone who primarily desires the fame and power that comes with the presidency. Instead, they should be someone who truly desires the good of the country, even if it will make them less popular. Take George Washington, for example. He was already a respected and well liked leader, but he did not want to assume the position of president. In his inaugural speech, he said, On the one hand, I was summoned by my Country, whose voice I can never hear but with veneration and love, from a retreat which I had chosen with the fondest predilection, and, in my flattering hopes, with an immutable decision, as the asylum of my declining years... (Washington). He then went on to express how insufficient he felt for the task of being president. It is common for presidents to arrive as potential candidates after engaging in other major undertakings, political or otherwise. The third qualification for a president, then, is that they should have an honorable reputation and past history. Tied in with this, is the criterion that the president should have had prior positive leadership experience, where they acted honorably and did not do things such as use bribery or engage in questionable practices. It should also be easy for them to gain the respect of the people. The president should also be a good problem solver, should be knowledgeable in the laws and policies of the country, ... Deп¬Ѓnitions are particularly important in the field because many of the terms associated with the discipline, such as entrepreneurship, entrepreneur and enterprise, are often used interchangeably. For the purpose of this review, the definition of entrepreneurship is synonymous with Gibb (2007), who describes entrepreneurship as sets of behaviours, attributes and skills that allow individuals and groups to create change and innovation, cope with and even enjoy higher levels of uncertainty and complexity (Gibb, 2007, p. 1). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 2.2 Importance of Entrepreneurship Education The importance of the role of EE and enterprise skills is highlighted in both European and global development views (Organisation for Economic Co operation and Development (OECD), 2015). While a strong emphasis on economic success and job creation has propelled EE at tertiary level, there has not been an integrated approach in the secondary education sector (OECD, 2015). However, development is underway, with international education institutions facing policy pressure to explicitly embed EE in the curriculum (Mwasalwiba, 2012). A crucial reason for teaching entrepreneurial skills to youth is to help prepare them for employment and, in some cases, influence self employment and choosing entrepreneurship as a career path. However, EE is not about simply creating entrepreneurs and businesses. It is about teaching students enterprise skills, transferable to the real world. Taking part in incubator style programs teaches students that failure is acceptable; they learn resilience which is key in the competitive 21st Century employment landscape. This is reflected in the following textbook quote: Businesses fail, but entrepreneurs do not. Failure is often the fire that tempers the steel of an entrepreneur s learning and street savvy (Timmons, 1999, p. 47). Acquisition Of ( Conrail ) Consolidated Rail Corporation CASE: ACQUISITION OF (Conrail) CONSOLIDATED RAIL CORPORATION (50 MARKS) Question 1: Reason for reference to Conrail as a scarce jewel ? (4mks) Conrail had its operations within the Northeast market, a rail network that other rail companies were yet to explore. It connected the Northeastern cities to the Midwestern and Southern cities. Even though Conrail had a high cost position, the revenue it obtains relative per mile track operated is the highest, giving it a high operating ratio, hence potential to increase income. For this reason, great synergies would be created should there be a merger with CSX, Norfolk Southern or any other rail company at all. Additionally, analysts view that either company that would get the merger with Conrail might reduce business for the other company or lead to its collapse. This reference as a scarce jewel is further exhibited in the wars that arose after CSX and Conrail announced their intentions to form a merger. These wars are in form of the offers made to Conrail that ended up in a lawsuit by Norfolk Southern to stop the Conrail CSX merger. As the television critic Michael V. Surprisingly, because America s actual suburban children record and obtain overall success through adulthood, these television lifestyles did not seem too far fetched. According to Peake, a window on the International Space Station (ISS) was damaged by a paint chip sized piece of metal. He contends that the ISS can withstand this type of small hit by debris.
