‘The Holiday’
Scene 1.Interior.Night.
The room is very brightly lit and the walls are plain white. Jess is lying on what seems to a
hospital bed. Her eyes open and she looks around her to try and understand where she is.
Her eyes close again.
Scene 2.Exterior.Evening.
The screen fuzzes and then focuses to Jess running down a pathway. The scene is dark and
dingy. She is breathing very heavy and frequently looks around her to see if there is anyone
behind her.
Scene 3.Interior. Evening
An average sized bedroom belonging to Jess. The three girls, Nancy, Jess and Nicole are all in
Jess’s room packing for the holiday. Nicole is sat over by the computer looking for clothes
online. Jess is putting things from her wardrobe into the suitcase on the bed and Nancy is
filming the entire process on their handheld camera. She moves the camera over the suitcase
to show the content.
NANCY
We’re going on holiday!
Jess takes a t-shirt out of the wardrobe and dearly walks over to the suitcase.
JESS
Yeah.
NANCY
Say you’re excited!
Scene 4.Exterior.Evening.
Jess pipes up a bit and moves towards the handheld camera, shaking her head from side to
side. Nicole is still sat quietly over by the computer.
JESS
I’M EXCITED!!
There is a fuzzy screen. Jess is running down a path, heavy breathing very loudly, in the dark.
She frequently looks behind her as if she is being chased. The screen goes fuzzy

Nicole is sat facing the computer screen, very clearly preoccupied by something interesting
on the screen.

What about you Nicole, are you excited?
Nicole looks extremely embarrassed and nervous to be being filmed
NICOLE
Yeah!
Scene 6.Exterior.Evening.
Jess is still running down the dingy pathway, heavy breathing. She is very frantic and you can
tell she is getting out of breath. She still keeps looking behind her to see if there is anyone
there.
Scene 7.Interior.Day.
There are no characters in this scene but a voice over is describing what is going on. The
computer screen is brightly lit. A holiday website is on the screen showing a beautiful house
surrounded by forest and in the middle of nowhere.
NANCY.
Oh, My, God. Check out this place!
JESS
BOOK IT! BOOK IT!
NICOLE.
Do you not want to ask the boys first?
JESS
Why?
NICOLE
Be Nice
JESS
No, Just book it!
Scene 8.Exterior.Evening.
Jess is still running down the dingy pathway, heavy breathing. She is very frantic and you can
tell she is getting out of breath. She still keeps looking behind her to see if there is anyone
there.
Scene 9.Exterior.Day.
There are no characters in this scene. Outside the front of an old fashioned brick house, you
can hear the murmuring of people chatting in the background, the voice over kicks in.

JESS
Don’t move, everyone stand still! 3, 2, 1.
There is a bright white flash.
Scene 10.Exterior.Evening.
Jess is still running down the path, heavy breathing and getting extremely out of breath. She
appears to jump over something. She runs a bit further and then falls to the ground throwing
the handheld camera just in front of her. She lets out a piercing scream.
