Hope Smith plans to film a short horror film entirely from outside her house looking in through windows. She will film at night for safety and ease. The sole location is her house in Shipton by Beningbrough. Layout diagrams show the windows and areas visible. A risk assessment addresses potential issues like tripping, dropping equipment, or power cuts. Evan Stone will play the lead role. Hope will direct and edit. Equipment includes a gimbal, camera, batteries, and SD cards. Costumes, props, a mood board, color scheme, storyboard, and production schedule are provided.
3. Location
◦ I will be filming the whole short film from the outside of my house looking in through the
windows to the inside of the house, this means I will be using the internal and external
parts of the house. My house will be the only location used as we will be filming at night so
it will be safer and to film there and easier as I know what the area looks like as it might
not be easy to see certain areas in the dark. For transport to the location the actress will
take the number 30 bus route from outside York art gallery to opposite my house .

6. Risk assessment
Risk Way to prevent What to do if it happens
Tripping over something
outside (especially during the
moving shot)
To help prevent this I will make sure I set the
sensored lights off before I start filming so I
have something to guide my way (the lights
aren’t bright enough to effect the footage)
If I do fall and injure myself during
filming I will have a first aid kit on hand
in case it’s needed
Dropping my laptop When evan puts the laptop on the table make
sure she is holding it with both hands so she
doesn’t drop it.
I doubt it is a big enough height to do
any damage to the laptop if it does get
dropped but if it does then we’d just
check to make sure it’s okay.
Getting locked out of my
laptop
I will tell Evan not to press the enter button on
the keyboard because if she does she will start
to put in the password to my laptop and get it
wrong.
If Evan does try guessing my password
I will receive a code that I have to put
in to unlock my laptop again
7. Risk assessment
Risk Way to prevent What to do if it happens
Falling off the chest of draws Make sure I don’t move too much
when I’m sat on the draws or sat to
close to the edge of the draws
If I do fall off hopefully I fall onto
my bed so I don’t get hurt
Moving the camera in the last scene Make sure I don’t knock the tripod
with the camera on it in between
shots so all shots are the same
Reshoot the shots taken before the
camera moved
Power cut Film on a day when there is no
storm because a storm will increase
the chances of a power cut
If a power cut does happen we will
have to reschedule to film on
another day

9. Equipment
◦ DGI Ronin-S gimble ◦ DSLR Cannon camera ◦ Spare camera battery ◦ SD card
I will be using the gimble and DSLR during the
whole shoot day, I will be using the same
camera all-day, and I'll use the stabiliser for all
outdoors shots so I can get the right camera
angles and movement.
I will need the battery and SD card for spares so I
can use them in case the camera battery dies, or I use
up all the storage on the SD card
10. costume
This will be the girls
costume for the
movie or very similar
to what she will wear.
I wanted the outfit
to be very simple and
baggy as she is just
home alone at night,
so I wanted her to
look comfortable and
cosy.
I picked the black and red jumper because I
know the actress has a jumper like that one and
it looks a lot like the jumper
Freddie Krueger wears in the film A
Nightmare On Elm Street so I thought it would
be a cool nod to the film.
I am choosing this type of trousers that are a very
baggy style and often have patterns on them. I
picked them because they go with the laidback
comfortable look I am going for.
I will use these exact fluffy socks in the film
because I already have them. I decided to use
fluffy socks because they go with the whole
comfort theme of the outfit and no free foot
videos.
11. Props
My laptop will be used as a prop for the first
3 scenes in the film
A can of Alaska cider will be used as a prop
when the girl goes to get something from the
fridge

13. Colour scheme
For the colour scheme in my film it will consist of red, orange, black, and shades of blue. The black and dark
blue represent the night as this will be when I am filming, I have chosen to Film at night because most horrors
are set at night time as it adds to the creepy atmosphere. I chose the red for the costume of the girl because red is
a colour heavily associated with horror and the striped jump she wears is a nod to the one worn by Freddie
Krueger in A Nightmare On Elm Street. The golden orange colour represents the warm coloured lights that are
in the girls house this suggests that her house is a safe space so the audience fear the darkness more. The lighter
blue represents the colder looking lights in the girls room this helps to indicate that something bad is going to
happen.
