WHAT IS COUPLER?
TRADITIONAL COUPLERS: OPTO-COUPLERS.
WHY WE ARE USING ISOLOOP MAGNETIC COUPLERS?
 To transmit the data.
 To make the connection.
 To reduce the connectivity.
 To reduction of space as well as increment of speed.
 To overcome headache.
 Electro–mechanical relays.
 Transformer.
 Opto-couplers.
 Magnetic couplers.
 WHAT IS GMR???
 IT CONSISTS OF
 2 magnetic layers
 1 nonmagnetic layer
 Input current supply
 chip microscopic coil
 Wheatstone bridge GMR sensor
 Isolation receiver
 IT CONTAINS
 Voltage regulator
 GMR bridge
 Comparator
 Transistor or switching ckt.
 Current / data o/p
 Its on chip configurations
 Can operate at high speed 10Mbd & temperature
 Dynamic power consumption
max. power supply current per channel for isoloop:
I (input) =40(f /fmax) (4/5) mA
Where f =operating frequency
fmax= 50 MHz
 Faster operation
 Bandwidth
 Small footprint
 Excellent noise immunity
 Temperature stability
Magnetic isolator quickly find their way in to process control and
industrial applications. And its having mostly digital application.
 Digital isolation application:
 ADCs
 DACs
 Multiplexed data transmission
 Data interface
 Digital noise reduction
 Magnetic couplers are expected from more manufacturers.
 They will be even faster, they will have more channels, and
more types of integrated bus transceivers will be made
available.
 Higher speed magnetic couplers are under development.
 ICs scale down and become faster. NVE has reported prototype
devices with speeds of 300 Megabaud and less than one
Nanosecond switching times.
 ISOLOOP MAGNETIC COUPLERS ARE HAVING SO MANY
ADVANTAGES OVER THE CONVENTIONAL COUPLERS.
 IT CAN REPLACE THE CONVENTIONAL COUPLERS.

  • 3. WHAT IS COUPLER? TRADITIONAL COUPLERS: OPTO-COUPLERS. WHY WE ARE USING ISOLOOP MAGNETIC COUPLERS?
  • 4.  To transmit the data.  To make the connection.  To reduce the connectivity.  To reduction of space as well as increment of speed.  To overcome headache.
  • 5.  Electro–mechanical relays.  Transformer.  Opto-couplers.  Magnetic couplers.
  • 6.  WHAT IS GMR???  IT CONSISTS OF  2 magnetic layers  1 nonmagnetic layer
  • 7.  Input current supply  chip microscopic coil  Wheatstone bridge GMR sensor  Isolation receiver
  • 8.  IT CONTAINS  Voltage regulator  GMR bridge  Comparator  Transistor or switching ckt.  Current / data o/p
  • 9.  Its on chip configurations  Can operate at high speed 10Mbd & temperature  Dynamic power consumption max. power supply current per channel for isoloop: I (input) =40(f /fmax) (4/5) mA Where f =operating frequency fmax= 50 MHz
  • 10.  Faster operation  Bandwidth  Small footprint  Excellent noise immunity  Temperature stability
  • 11. Magnetic isolator quickly find their way in to process control and industrial applications. And its having mostly digital application.  Digital isolation application:  ADCs  DACs  Multiplexed data transmission  Data interface  Digital noise reduction
  • 12.  Magnetic couplers are expected from more manufacturers.  They will be even faster, they will have more channels, and more types of integrated bus transceivers will be made available.  Higher speed magnetic couplers are under development.  ICs scale down and become faster. NVE has reported prototype devices with speeds of 300 Megabaud and less than one Nanosecond switching times.
  • 13.  ISOLOOP MAGNETIC COUPLERS ARE HAVING SO MANY ADVANTAGES OVER THE CONVENTIONAL COUPLERS.  IT CAN REPLACE THE CONVENTIONAL COUPLERS.
