1. Why Salesforce is so powerful and potentially game changing
2. What the benefits are for fundraising
3. How you can access these opportunities

3. ● Systems that don’t talk to each other
● Data in different places – donors, campaigning, emails,
online giving, web and service delivery
● 360 Supporter View – much talked about…rarely
achieved
● ‘Central Mothership’ model
● Systems that people are reluctant to use
● Training and consultancy – limited supply and
expensive
● Over-reliance upon IT infrastructure and resources

The status quo is unacceptable

14. Fundraising with Salesforce
““VSO chose Salesforce as its primary platform in
2012, but we have been using Chatter to share ideas,
information and stories about our programmes for
nearly two years.
We have started to move existing systems across,
starting with HR and volunteer management. I was
a VSO volunteer and am now a VSO staff member
so it makes a lot of sense to have both systems on the
same platform.
It’s early days, but Salesforce delivers a lot of
functionality out of the box (e.g. links to social
media) and development happens quickly so users
can see their input appear in a mock-up system
within a couple of weeks”
Nikki Hill, Global Income Programme Manager - VSO International
