CHARACTER that captures the HEART."
"A Brilliant Mind is useless without a Humble Heart.
You make an IMPRESSION with what you SAY
but you make an IMPACT with what you DO.“
Francis Kong

“Watch your thoughts,
for they become words.
Watch your words,
for they become actions.
Watch your actions,
for they become habits.
Watch your habits,
for they become character.
Watch your character,
for it will be your identity.
Reflect on your identity,
for it determines your destiny.”
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 15
Have a Positive
Attitute
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 16
Positive Attitude is Important
in Building Positive
Relationship with Others
Eliminate the Negative
Follow Abraham Lincoln's famous instruction:
"I do not like that man, therefore, I shall get to know him better."
Most of relationship ends not because of permanent decision
but just because of a temporary emotion. -ipcap
Build up others a sense of importance
Give sincere appreciation
Check the first impression
Develop a genuine interest to people around you
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 17
Positive Attitude is
Important in Creating
Positive Atmosphere
Whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is
lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any
excellence, and if anything worthy of praise, let
your mind dwell on these things.
– Philippians 4:8
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 18
Take the positive and
Eliminate the Negative
Attitude
Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only
what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that
your words may give grace to those who hear. Put
away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and
backbiting and slander, together with all malice, and
be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.
– Ephesians 4:28-29, 31-32
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 19
masamang hangarin at akala. Maging mabait kayo sa isa't
isa, maawain, magpatawaran sa isa't isa, kung papaanong
pinatawad kayo ng Diyos kay Cristo.
– Efeso 4:28-29, 31-32
Take the positive and
Eliminate the Negative
Attitude
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 20
Integrity
integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness,
uprightness, or accuracy of one's actions
the quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to
high moral principles or professional standards with
or without the presence of others
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 21
Integrity
The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but
the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy
them. – Proverbs 11:3
Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be
trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with
very little will also be dishonest with much.
– Luke 16:10
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 22
The inward factors that obscure or distort our
identity and integrity as teachers is FEAR.
Fear, not ignorance, is the enemy of learning,
and it is fear that gives ignorance its power.
Fear is the counterpoint of every great and good
human virtue
Fear, not doubt, is the counterpoint of faith;
Fear, not hate is the counterpoint of love;
Fear, not greed, is the counterpoint of generosity;
Fear, not betrayal, is the counterpoint of trust.
It is fear that deforms our lives;
Fear is clearly at work in our educational culture
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 23
Every human experienced fear, but in varying degrees.
Such fear could be:
fear of failure and rejection
fear of being alone & lonely
fear to be declared wrong
fear of discovering what is lacking in himself
fear of pursuing what is right
Fear came when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of
Eden. So the origin of fear is sin the opposite of
truthfulness and righteousness.
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 24
God has not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power,
and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear,
because fear has to do with punishment. The one who
fears is not made perfect in love. I John 4:18
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 25
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the
Lord, not people, 8 because you know that the Lord
will reward each one for whatever good they do. –
Ephesians 6:7
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 26
The consistencies have to do with qualities of being:
 presence
 passion
 personal identification
 concern for students
 a certain largeness of mind and heart
 keepers of integrity
 they are, in a word, "whole" people
“The way to truly increase teachers'
capacities and skills is to engage
their souls.”
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 27
The Value of Self-Reflec
In a profession as challenging as
teaching, honest self-reflection is a key.
Reflection……..
“If teachers are to become healers for their
students, they must first work to heal
themselves.”
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 28
Ask Yourself The Following Tough
Questions
And Be Honest!
Then take your answers and turn them
into positive, resolute statements that
give you concrete goals on which to
focus immediately. Be honest.
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 29
Self-
Reflection1. Do I include my soul in my
teaching profession ?
2. Do I teach because of love
and unconditional service?
3. What resentments and
fears do I need to resolve in
order to move forward more
optimistically and with a
fresh mind?
4. What types of students do
I tend to ignore or do I need
to spend more time serving?
5. Which lessons or units am I
only continuing to perform
out of habit or laziness?
6. Am I being a cooperative member
of teaching team and colleague?
7. Have I done enough to foster a
productive relationship with my
principal?
8. Do I still enjoy teaching? If not,
what can I do to increase my
enjoyment in my chosen profession?
9. Do I bring additional stress upon
myself? If so, how can I decrease or
eliminate it.
10. Am I willing to create a positive
atmosphere in my workplace?
11. Am I aware of my identity?
12. Do I keep and value my integrity?
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 30
Stimulate changes in teaching behavior and classroom
behavior & procedures.
Articulate a renewed sense of passion for your work.
Renew and deepen the educators sense of purpose and
invite each teacher to explore what is important about his or
her work.
Deepen teacher’s appreciation for collegial relationships.
The Benefits of Self-Refl
Clarify and renew core beliefs about students and teaching.
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 31
“If any man wishes to exert a
good influence in speaking,
He must also exert a good
influence by living.”
I Timothy 4:16
Watch yourself and watch your teaching.
Keep on doing these things, because if
you do, you will save both yourself and
those who hear you.
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 32
“Blessed are the pure in heart for they
shall see God. - Matthew 5:8
“I can do all things through Christ
who gives us Strength.”
Philippians 4:13
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 33
Move ahead with the confidence
that you are mindful and
motivated to be the best teacher
you can be!
We can witness how effective the personal
and professional development can be
when it puts focus on teachers' inner life
and reflection through values formation.
8/18/2015 Ms. Amanda C. Santiago 34
Thank You
