2. New Technologies Used In The
Research Stages...
For the primary research we used Survey Monkey to collect
information from the Kate Nash fan audience. This helped us
decide which video was most popular and what made it that
popular, which contributed to how we planned our storyboard
of our video.
We used facebook as part of the primary research to
publish the questionnaire we created on Survey Monkey so
that we could collect feedback and response.
We used YouTube to research Kate Nash music videos so
we could find out the forms and conventions and include
them in our music video.
3. New technologies used in the
planning stages...
We used blogger in the planning stages to document our
findings and analysis of Kate Nash’s music videos and
also to plan what we were going to do for our music
video. We used blogger in our last year, but the format
had changed this year.
We used photoshop to do drafts and plans of what out
digipak would look like. They were rough plans and they are
not as developed as our final digipak pages. The rough plans
were created within 10 minutes, we used our knowledge from
last year for the plans.
We used a computer and mainly the internet
to find sample images that we could use for
the plan of the digipak. Also we used the
internet to find the lyrics of the song to plan
the events of the music video.
4. New technologies used in the
construction stages...
We used photoshop to construct the pages of our digipak. We
learnt a lot of different tools that we didn’t use last year. Use of
the magnetic lasso tool, which we used to cut around the
photographs of the artist.
We used Final Cut Pro to create out music video, this was a
completely new piece of software to us, and it took us a while to
work out how to use it to it’s potential. This programme is
responsible for the editing of the videos we filmed.
We used a Mac Book to do the editing on the music video and
organise the videos and images we had taken. This was a new
piece of hardware to most of our group. Fortunately, one
person from our group owns one and knows how to use it.
This was helpful as this was the only piece of technology we
could use Final Cut Pro on.
5. New technologies used in the
construction stages…
We used a Cannon SLR camera to film the music video in
scenes and also used it for taking images that we were going
to use on the digipak. This was a new piece of equipment to
us, but we managed to learn how to use it easily.
We used YouTube in the construction stage to
download the song we needed for the music
video. Without YouTube we wouldn’t have been
able to get hold of the song, so our music video
would have been silent.
6. New technologies used in the
evaluation stages…
We used Survey Monkey in the evaluation
stage for creating a questionnaire to find out
what the audience thought of out music
video, when we posted it around the
internet, without Survey Monkey it would
have made it a lot harder to get response
back from the audience.
We used Blogger in the evaluation stage for
putting our analysis and evaluating of the video
and digipak we have created. Without this our
work would not all be in one place and it wouldn’t
have been as easy to see what we have done and
what else needs to be uploaded. I learned how to
upload a presentation created on Microsoft
PowerPoint onto Blogger.
7. New technologies used in the
evaluation stages…
I used Microsoft PowerPoint in the evaluation stage for
presenting answers and analysis of the digipak and video we
have created. PowerPoint helps me easily organise my
thoughts into well presented slides that are more
interesting to read than a full page of writing.
I used Microsoft Word in the evaluation stage for
presenting analysis of the audience feedback for both
research and product. This programme helped me
arrange screenshots and images taken from our work
with text analysing what the audience thought of the
work.
I used Slideshare for the evaluation stage so
that I could upload documents created on
Microsoft PowerPoint onto Blogger. Without
this, Blogger wouldn’t allow PowerPoint
presentations to be uploaded.
