This document provides instructions for creating personal accounts and alerts within various database platforms like EBSCOhost, ProQuest, ScienceDirect, Sage Journals Online, CQ Researcher, and Facts on File. Creating a personal account allows users to save searches, citations, and set up email alerts to be notified when new content is added matching their research interests or selected publications. The steps outlined include how to sign up for an account, set search alerts, and sign up to be notified of new issues for specific journals within each database interface.

By creating a personal account – you can save your favorite articles
securely, and much more!
To create an account, click Sign In to My EBSCOHost.

15. EBSCOHost – Search Alerts
To you have a research topic that you would like to be kept
informed of? EBSCOHost will run searches for you on a regular
basis.
First, run your search.
Then, click Alert / Save / Share

Click E-mail alert in the pop-up
box that appears.

Enter the information needed so that EBSCO can notify you when
new articles matching your search are available.
This includes noting how frequently you would like to be notified.
Click Save Alert when finished.

notified when the most recent issue of
your favorite journal or magazine is
available.
(If it is included in an EBSCOHost
database!)
(Note: You will need to ensure that the
library does have access to current issues
of the journal in order to do this!)

Publications at the top of the
screen.

second search box, and then click
browse.

ScienceDirect requires that you first
create an account before creating
journal and search alerts. After this,
you may log in when using the
database.
