Editor's Notes
Aims: to give staff an insight into the use technology in teaching and learning by raising the potential risk of using the internet and by exploring ways of minimising that risk with the skill learned and resources used in this session.
Free software (freeware) is completely free of charge. Free and open source software (FOSS) or free/libre/open source software (FLOSS) is distributed on licences that allow you to use and adapt the source code. In the case of FOSS, free refers to the 'freedom' to use and edit the program, but much of it is also available free of charge.
