A Personal Learning Environment (PLE) can be summarized as: 1. A PLE is a collection of digital tools and resources that are brought together and controlled by an individual learner to facilitate their learning. 2. It allows learners to access, aggregate, configure and interact with digital materials from their ongoing learning experiences from a single interface. 3. A PLE represents a shift to a learner-centered approach where students control their own learning goals, materials and processes through a personalized learning center composed of interconnected applications and services.
