Cheryl Taylor, Designer at NexJ SystemsI believe there is volunteer group working on a UXbok, similar to the PMbok, which would include a code of ethics. I will have to try to find the link again in my records.2 years ago
Michaela Laubscher, Director at Fuelled by Social AlchemyIn response to inapickle, the difference with TV & newspaper false advertising is there's a governing body [ASA] who is at least out there looking after everyone's best interests. Is there anything governing global websites? No... and it's about time there is! Some practices are totally unethical and companies, such as Ryanair and Carphone Warehouse [who, I'm particularly disgruntled for the way they hand personal details over to 3rd party companies!!] should not be allowed to get away with it.2 years ago
inapickleThis is interesting but nothing new. This happens in 3 am TV ads with misleading claims, paper contracts with tiny print and ambiguous, sneaky language, radio ads with diclaimers spoken at 500 words a minute, slimy car dealers --it is all revolting but at the end of the day it is nothing new. Why does it happen? Because many people have no morals and they are happy screwing their fellow human beings.2 years ago
