Year 7 Student Led Conferences Presentation - Presentation Transcript

    1. Student-led conferences 2nd June 2009 Yukiko Lui
    2. English Without a doubt, English is and will stay one of my most favourite subjects. This year, in English, we have focused on poetry, narrative, speaking & listening and we are currently writing a character study for a chosen character from Natalie Babbitt’s Tuck Everlasting. We have done assessments on narrative, poetry and speaking & listening. For all 3 of these, I have been very pleased with the feedback Ms. Evans has given me. Definitely, I have enjoyed poetry and speaking & listening the most this year. I would love to expand my reading material; to include complicated, complex books.
    3. English Targets I have a few targets for English: 1. Expand my reading material 2. Contribute my ideas more in class
    4. English Evidence
    5. Maths This year in Maths, we have studied Algebra, generalising, visualising among many other things. We have taken 2 ‘major’ tests this year, both of which I have been happy with. I enjoyed World Maths Day the most this year. I would love to work on the ‘math triangle’, Evidence, Answers & Justification later this year.
    6. Maths Targets I have a few targets for Maths: 1. Use the MyMaths and nRich websites more to revise, etc. 2. Try and implement Justification into my answers
    7. Maths Evidence
    8. French I think I have made a great start this year in French. We’ve been learning about animals, weather, number and so many other things. I have enjoyed French immensely this year. We have done a number of assessments this year, one for each unit. I have been proud of my scores in all of these assessments. In the future, I would love to work on my reading and writing to further my knowledge of the language.
    9. French Targets I have a few targets for French: 1. Work on my pronunciation by reading out loud more 2. Try and make my reading more fluent 3. Speak confidently!
    10. French Evidence
    11. Humanities Humanities has been one of my favourite subjects this year. We have worked on Medieval Times, Geography, Religious Studies, community, and many others. I loved writing my speech for a new principle of WIS. Later, in the future, I would like to work more on History.
    12. Humanities Targets I have a few targets for Humanities: 1. Practice my PEE (Point, Evidence, Explain) 2. Try and explain why my sources are valid
    13. Humanities Evidence
    14. Chinese This year in Chinese, we have worked on places, colours, nationalities, time and many other things. We completed various assessments this year, varying from oral and speaking, listening to reading and writing. On all these assessments, I have been pleased with my scores. I think all aspects of my Chinese have improved this year, and I am happy with my progress.
    15. Chinese Targets I have a few targets for Chinese: 1. Work on my pronunciation by reading out loud more 2. Try to memorise more characters and the tone marks
