This document discusses the role of teachers in developing computer-assisted language learning (CALL) materials. It presents two models: 1) the computer acts as a tutor to free up teacher time for more creative/personal activities; however, the internet requires more of the teacher's time and knowledge. 2) The teacher plays an active role as the author and facilitator of CALL methodologies, ensuring materials are clear, contextualized, and timely for their students. The document also outlines four levels of computer literacy for teachers, from basic user to programmer, and the development process for CALL programs.
