The group employs over 6,400 people and is a multi-platformcompany focusing mainly on Magazine and radio.Bauer’s most popular media brands are Kiss 100(Kiss FM) & For Him Magazine (FHM) which waspurchased in 1994 and is now a best-sellinginternational multi-platform.Other popular magazines in the Media groupare:Empire, Practical photography, Grazia, Heat andmany more…Most of Bauers media brands are very popularand there is a wide range of magazine genresthey have, from fishing, golf and fashion totrains. Bauer covers a big enough variety tomake them a mainstream magazine institution.

Their awardwinning portfolio of websites reaches over 25million users globally every month.Some of the types of well know magazines IPCmedia produce are:NME, Now, What’s On TV, Marie Claire &Woman’s OwnI would say that IPC Media produces UKmainstream magazines as they are the UK’sleading consumer.

Established in 1947, their magazineincludes genres such as Retail, Health,Construction, Architecture and Fashion.Brands at EMAP include Smash Hits(1978-2006), RetailWeek, H&Vnews,NursingTimes.net & Construction News.Because EMAP’s brands focus on specificindustries I would say that EMAP are not avery well-known magazine industry this leadme to believe they are a niche magazineindustry.

They shipworldwide with operations in the UK, USand Australia.They use different types of media such asapps, websites and events to do with themagazines they publish.Some of the types of magazines Futureproduces are: Classic Rock Guitar Techniques Guitarist Metal HammerI would say that Future PLC magazines areNiche as they are not very well known.
