      Data from HERI (2007) show:
      94% of first year students spend some time on social media each week
      Majority of first year students (60%) spend between 1-5 hours/week on social media
      Time spent on social media was lest than on academic activities and socializing in the real world

      Involvement refers to the investment of physical and psychological energy.
      Involvement occurs along a continuum.
      Involvement has both quantitative and qualitative features.
      Amount of student learning and personal development associated with any educational program is directly proportional to the quality and quanitty of student involvement in that program.
      The effectiveness of any educational policy or practice is directly related to the capacity of that policy or practice to increase student involvement.
