Reflection unit 3: Classroom management
As futures teachers to be and as in pre-service teachers classroom
management is one of the most complicated issues inside a classroom, we need to
keep in mind some strategies regarding to pair work, individual work, sitting
arrangement, how to create a safe environment that can provides safety to the
students, among other aspects, it is necessary to understand that classroom
management does not mean that the students have to be quiet without speaking
during the whole class; Classroom management means that the teacher has the
ability to control the students’ behavior inside the classroom and that the students
need to participate during the lesson.
In this unit we mainly studied the aspects suggested by Brown that were
some steps that can improve the classroom management in order to generate a
better environment at the moment of learning a language. Even though, we did not
had to do any assignment related to this topic, the hours that we analyzed it in the
course allowed us to understand and to practice some of the ideas in our practice
centers.
