{ Lesson for Beginners
Today Tom & Chrissey will:
• Introduce you to Facebook.
• Help you create your account & profile,
• Show you that anyone can use it safely.
• All you need to take from this class is
enough to be able to make a start.

• Don’t worry if you feel a little
overwhelmed. We are here to answer
your questions and show you the way.
Friend: People you connect and share with on Facebook

Like: A way to give positive feedback and connect about things you care

             about.

Lists: An optional way to organize friends

Messages: Central place to exchange private messages, chats, emails with friends.

News feed: An ongoing list of updates on your home page that shows you what’s

new with friends and pages you follow.

Poke: A way to get attention

Timeline: Your collection of photos and status updates

Wall: The space on your profile where you and friends can post and share
• Don’t expect privacy
    • Use the privacy settings, but don’t rely on them.
• What you post stays forever and Facebook “owns it”
• If it’s not nice, don’t say it.
• Keep yourself safe
    • Don’t put personal/contact information in wall messages
or in comments to pictures or notes.
    • Only friend people you know and trust.
