the same area which effect the noise level

Description of Location: A standard living room, with sofa, TV and coffee table.
Kitchen- table, window giving natural lighting.
Purpose of the Location: To film the beginning the film where Sarah is watching the
news and then starts to eat her breakfast whilst she goes into a flash back.
Advantages:
• location is inside therefore I don’t have to be aware and cautious of the weather
• appropriate to the mes-en-scen I intended for this scene, it will create a realistic
everyday morning

Description of Location: Widespread of space with lab equipment such as
flasks, sink and cupboards that are typical of a lab environment.
Purpose of the Location: To film the flashback scenes of Sarah as a little girl
remembering her mother’s involvement with scientists and a lab
experiment.
Advantages: Has a lot of space and therefore I can shot my scenes as
intended.
Disadvantages:

Description of Location: A small area where there are toys and colour
which show that this is a young girl’s bedroom.

• Setting will show how Sarah is connected to the scientific side of
the film (zombie project)
Disadvantages:
• duration of which I am able to use the room.

Description of Location: Vintage/90s style street with a patch of greenery attached
to the left
Purpose of the Location: To show Sarah walking into a scary/foreign looking place
Advantages:
• Perfect location which will help capture the scenery
• Set the scene for the environment which I would like to set.
Disadvantages:
• Noise level cannot be controlled also there may be by passers in the area.
• location is outside I will need to consider the weather on the day of filming.

6. Name of Location: Abandoned old offices
Description of Location: A 4 storey building that has been left abounded for years, open
space in the front of the building and inside the building there is wood/glass and equipment
smashed into pieces all around, graffiti on the walls and burnt roof tops and broken walls.
Purpose of the Location: To film the zombie scenes
Advantages:
• Gives the ultimate scene that I was hoping to achieve with the zombie scenes- a isolated
area.
• links directly to the horror genre as one of the convention of zombie horror is open
space with damaged property.
• natural lighting is ideal for a scene that is to be filmed at sunset.
Disadvantages:
• Getting the characters to the location along with the props.
• Availability- due to current construction work and permissibility from premises which
may be an issue.
What to be aware of during production: High level of risks associated with the
environment. Location is close to a train station therefore noise levels will need to be
controlled.

Name of Location: School basement
Description of Location: Basement with open space that has no character to it.
Purpose of the Location: Replace the abandoned offices, and shot the zombie scenes to
make it look like that the room Sarah has entered is in an isolated area.
Advantages:
• Availability and duration of basement will be easy to get permission of
• Location in school therefore all props/ characters will have easy access to the location,
lightning can be adjusted to my own preference.
Disadvantages:
• Cannot use natural lighting
