 OLT: Central Office Node
 ONT/ONU
    ONT: single integrated unit that terminates PON
     network.
    ONU: PON-side half of the ONT, terminating PON
     network and may present one or more converged
     interfaces such as xDSL or ethernet. ONU typically
     require a separate subscriber unit.

    Dapat mendukung λ 1550 nm untuk RF

GPON  Gigabit Passive Optical Network.  Standar ITU-T G.984.  Evolusi dari APON  BPON  Model paketisasi data menggunakan GPON Encapsulation Method (GEM) untuk membawa layanan TDM dan packet-based.  Data rate :  Downstream 2.5 Gbps  Upstream 1.2 Gbps  Mendukung transmisi analog/digital video.  Support legacy layanan TDM.

GPON Component Active Component  OLT: Central Office Node  ONT/ONU  ONT: single integrated unit that terminates PON network.  ONU: PON-side half of the ONT, terminating PON network and may present one or more converged interfaces such as xDSL or ethernet. ONU (1) Umum:  Applikasi di perumahan, kantor, atau pada building (HRB) dan curbs.  Dapat dimanage secara lokal dan remote melalui OMCI sesuai dengan G.984.4  Menggunakan fiber optik single mode bidirectional untuk 1310 nm (upstream) dan 1490 nm (downstream)  Dapat mendukung λ 1550 nm untuk RF video.

ONT (1) Umum:  Aplikasi tipe pelanggan perumahan.  Dapat di-manage secara lokal dan remote melalui OMCI sesuai dengan G.984.4  Menggunakan fiber optik single mode bidirectional untuk 1310 nm (upstream) dan 1490 nm (downstream)  Mendukung layanan dengan λ 1550 nm untuk RF video. Konstruksi Fisik :  220Vac ±10% 50 Hz auto ranging.  Sistem proteksi dari tegangan dan arus liar.
