2. Analyze the Audience
The children are special needs 10 boys, 7 girls. 70% white, 20% African-
American, and 10% Latino. 7 students have ADHD
3. State Objectives
Students will recite the months of the year through the use of drawings,
videos, readings, and songs, by the end of the month with 100% accuracy.
4. Select Methods, Media and
Technology
I would use YouTube, Posters and WebQuest . YouTube would be used for
finding songs and videos. Students would create a poster and then use
Webquest to find more fun facts about the months of the year.
5. Utilize Media and Materials
YouTube will be used in class so that the students can listen to fun songs about the
months of the year. We will listen to songs about the months of the year as well as
informational videos. Students will be allowed to get up and dance during the songs
as well as be encouraged to sing along.
After we watch the YouTube videos students will then begin to create a poster about
the months of the year. Each student will talk about the months of the year on their
posters by using pictures and words or phrases that are related to each month.
As another tool to help children create their posters they will be guided to the
WebQuest that I have created for them. In the webquest will be links to the previous
YouTube channels we have watched as well as links to websites they can go to, to
help them find pictures and words about each month individually. The webquest will
tell them, what I expect, how they will be graded, and encourage them to do their
best!
6. Require Participation
I would make sure to come to class upbeat so that all students can feel the
motivation to learn. The students would work together majority of the time
so that students feel the need to be involved in learning and participation.
Also supporting the students making sure they know they are doing a
great job and should keep trying. If the students get stuck or confused
they know that I will always be there for them to help them learn about the
months of the year.
7. Evaluate and Revise
I would watch all students and their own personal progress with the
months of the year by going up to them once a week, every week and
having them tell me or show me the months of the year through the
material they have in front of them or just by reciting them too me.
The main evaluation would be their poster project that is about the
months of the year.
I would see what methods students grasped on too the most and what
ones students didn’t really connect with to well.
