Cloud for Digital Citizenship
WhytheCloudinEducation?
Cloud computing is being adopted across all sectors.
Education needs to take into consideration these ground-

providing an affordable route to learning in innovative ways
via customized solutions.
WhatisSchoolontheCloud(SoC)?
SoC is an ICT network aiming to explore new
dynamic ways to educate. This aligns with
the way we think, share, learn and colla-
borate, across various education
sectors, by exploiting the opportunities
rising from Cloud environments.

WhatistheaimofeachWorkingGroup?
i-ManagerWG1 examines aspects of educational leadership, management
and organizational change in an era of Cloud-based developments. The goal
is to identify and share technological, social, economic, cultural and other
experiences in different educational contexts.
i-TeacherWG2 explores the impact of the Cloud on the roles of teachers and
trainers in Education and discusses how we can use new technology
and Cloud applications as a value-added component in Education.
It also explores teachers as innovators. It will review learning
and teaching approaches and provides practical and
essential guidance for teachers and teacher
educators.
i-LearnerWG3 will bring together teachers and edu-
cators, schools, colleges and adult education to ex-
ploit the opportunities resulting from both formal
and informal learning situations. It will define persona-
lised learning, develop a manual on how to implement it
and demostrate existing good-practice case studies.
i-FutureWG4 will deal with topics like: the role, processes and impact of
open (education) resources through the Cloud, the availability of free and
available information using the Cloud, new generation tools for the Cloud,
communicating and publishing on the Cloud and the resultant issues
such as ethics and IPR.
