  7. 7. <ul><li>Benedict Arnold wanted to take command of Fort Ticonderoga but the Massachusetts Committee of Safety wanted Ethan Allen in charge
  8. 8. After Col. Benedict met up with Ethan Allen they reached an agreement to both command of Fort Ticonderoga </li></ul>May 9<br />
  9. 9. <ul><li>The colonist attacked at dawn for fear of losing the element of surprise
  10. 10. The only century on duty was at the south gate
  11. 11. Col. Benedict and Ethan Allen rushed to the officer’s quarters and demanded surrender
  12. 12. Ethan Allen’s words to the officer were, “Come out you damned rat, in the name of the Great Jehovah and the Continental Congress!”
  13. 13. The fort had fallen to disrepair and only 2 officers and 50 men were at the fort
  14. 14. The American Officers took the 100 cannons and the large artillery supply
  15. 15. The group of men arrived in Boston in 1776 with the supplies that would fortify Dorchester Heights </li></ul>May 10<br />
