“IP video streaming helps people watch videos anywhere, any place on
their preferred device (TV, tablet, phone, laptops etc., aka multi-screen
market). To achieve this, RiverSilica PIXFIX* uses innovative mathematical
algorithms by transcoding ‘maximum number of streams’ sent at the ‘best
perceptible quality’. PIXFIX utilizes all Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2697 v3
accelerators, including Intel® Advanced Vector Extensions 2 (Intel® AVX2),
and this reduces the cost-per-stream.”1

 The Envivio* HEVC software encoder and the Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2697
v3 with 14 cores, 35MB of cache and DDR4 memory, supports both live and
on-demand compression in HEVC format, supporting multiple channels of
multiple resolution up to 4K. The HEVC standard reduces bandwidth
consumption compared to MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) by up to 50%, improving the
video experience and reducing cost of operations for both Ultra HD broadcast
and multiscreen video delivery.2
 Bandwidth improvement is made at the cost of a 4x to 10x increase in
processing resources needed for the video compression compared to H264.
This makes the design of a HEVC real-time transcoder a real challenge for the
telecom industry in particular when reaching 4K resolution.

Performance tests and ratings are measured using specific
computer systems and/or components and reflect the
approximate performance of Intel products as measured by
those tests. Any difference in system hardware or software
design or configuration may affect actual performance. Buyers
should consult other sources of information to evaluate the
performance of systems or components they are considering

Relative performance is calculated by assigning a baseline
value of 1.0 to one benchmark result, and then dividing the
actual benchmark result for the baseline platform into each of
the specific benchmark results of each of the other platforms,
and assigning them a relative performance number that
correlates with the performance improvements reported.

Any difference in system hardware or software design or configuration may affect actual performance. Buyers should consult other sources of information to evaluate the performance of systems or components they are considering purchasing. For more information on performance tests and on the performance of Intel products, Go to: http://www.intel.com/performance/resources/benchmark_limit ations.htm. and www.intel.com/software/products Intel does not control or audit the design or implementation of third party benchmarks or Web sites referenced in this document. Intel encourages all of its customers to visit the referenced Web sites or others where similar performance benchmarks are reported and confirm whether the referenced benchmarks are accurate and reflect performance of systems available for purchase. Relative performance is calculated by assigning a baseline value of 1.0 to one benchmark result, and then dividing the actual benchmark result for the baseline platform into each of the specific benchmark results of each of the other platforms, and assigning them a relative performance number that correlates with the performance improvements reported. NAVER*: 1. Search Server Test: There are test clients and servers (search and document servers) and test clients generates the workload with given query sets. On throughput, the test clients write data of the requests into the log file and evaluate the number of successfully finished requests per seconds. Two types of servers were tested with one server type at a time. Each server has its own type of data (index and document volume) and clients can generate two types of query for load generation: search requests and document requests query. 2. Indexer Test: Indexer reads input document collection to be searched later and create index data as the result, it was tested how much time each indexer take for indexing. Performance metric is second (Lower is Better).
