2. Target audience Recap
As said in my pitch, my target audience is young
people aged 16- 24, with interests in film and
music.
3. Front cover
To attract and appeal to my target audience on my front cover, I put a large
image of one of my models looking successful and carefree. It is a medium
shot, so you can see what they are wearing and their attitude/position. My
models clothing is similar to the clothing worn by the majority of females
aged 16 – 24. her pose is casual, with her hands in her pockets, giving of a
carefree, relaxed atmosphere to the image. Both of these things help attract
my audience because they will see someone who is similar to them and
acting casual and relaxed, so it will encourage them to buy the magazine.
4. Front cover
My articles are about people and things that would relate to my
target audiences age group, such as films and people their age
who have done well in their profession. The film reviews and
charts would attract the audience because as I said in my pitch,
they are mainly students so would have little money, so would
want to know if a film or album is worth seeing or buying.
5. Contents page
In my contents page I put lots of detail about what was in the
magazine to attract my target audience. The audience would
want there to be a lot in the magazine so it would be worth
buying. Included content about up and coming films, such as,
Deadpool, Suicide Squad and Captain America: Civil War. I also
included content about music, such as new releases, chart music
and playlists for all occasions.
6. Contents page
My contents page is split into four sections, the first has some of the cover
articles, the middle two have information on contents and the fourth has an
image relating to one of the articles and contact information for the
magazine. This arrangement would appeal to audience because it would be
easy to navigate . All the article information pieces are numbered meaning
that they can be found easily, so the reader doesn’t have to look through the
whole magazine to find what they want.
7. Contents page
I used colours such as red, black and white to connote
sophistication and give the whole magazine a more grown up
feel, because if the minimal colours were replaced with brighter
colours the magazine may look like it was more aimed at
children, also due to the carefree, happy looking models in the
imaged.
8. Double page spread
The title of my article has a bold font, to add to the words in the
title such as ‘never ending’, this would help the article attract the
audience because the piece is about a horror/ action film
director, and if the font was happier and had more flow, it would
not connote the atmosphere and meaning of the article.
9. Double page spread
The colours I have used on this page are similar to that of the
contents page, red, black and white. This would connote a sense
of familiarity so would attract the audience because it would
make the magazine seem as a whole and not just random pieces
put together.
