1. Evaluation 5: How did you attract/address your audience?Target audience – Teenagers – Young adults
2. I think the first thing that attracts and addresses the audience is the title. I have used quite a bold and young colour to accentuate the title. Like Kerrang, the writing is chipped to reflect a rock nature, so the audience can relate to that I have put popular modern bands across the cover above the title. bY doing this, it will be one of the first things the audience will see when they go to look at the magazine. As you can see they all bands that have their own style of rock to tie in with the general theme. By putting an offer about free posters on the front, will make the magazine seem more appealing. Most teenagers and young adults enjoy having posters of their favourite band to put on their walls, so I thought this would be the best thing to offer. I have put the main image across most of the cover as I feel it will attribute to attracting the most attention. He is wearing quite trendy clothes, so the audience can relate to him and his hair is quite stylish.
3. I shot pictures of friends and made them into bands again to appeal to a young audience. They would probably not want to see pictures of an old band they hadn’t heard of. I also added unusual backgrounds behind both pictures. The language I used in the editors comment is quite conversational to make the reader feel comfortable and at ease. I also mentioned popular bands to show more appeal. I put captions underneath the captions which mock the poses in the pictures. Doing this appeals to the audiences because it is light hearted and humourus, so it doesn't come across as too serious. Again, in the contents, I put young popular bands, as I’m appealing to a young audience. I also added some made up bands, to generate curiosity and diversity.
4. I put a tagline underneath the title to attract the audience into reading the interview, By putting something short sharp and interesting. The last sentence which make the audience wonder about the subject featured. Instead of just having a normal picture, I edited it so that the subject was repeated in colours that matched his jacket. I think this appeals to the audience because it looks more diverse and modern. I have made the interview quite conversational so it puts the audience at ease with the magazine. It is more informal using swear words, but not so informal that it looks sloppy and messy.
