3. Front Cover
My target audience for my magazine is
mainly aimed at the younger teenagers that
are interested in the pop genre. We have
aimed the age group around years 11 to 17,
as we feel like they will be more interested
the in pop genre, and fashion trends, which
will be the main features in my magazine.
The colours and font attract the target
audience, as they are typical girly colours,
such as purple, the writing font style is also
interesting and big to draw attention to the
audience. The model on the front cover is
looking directing in to the camera which is
advertising for the customers, whereas, if
the model was not looking into the camera,
it would look less professional. ‘Gossip you
NEED to know’ attracts the audience as it
makes it seem mandatory and if they don’t
know the gossip they will definitely be
missing out!
4. Front cover
I have used the stereotypical
colours of purple to attract the
target audience, of young
females. The colour is
particularly feminine which will
address the girls that are
interested in magazines. The
‘easy ways to look like’ will
attract the audience as the word
easy will advertise the
audience, as the magazine will
tell the audience tips on how to
look like a pop star. It is
appealing to the audience as it
is not difficult, as the pop stars I
have used are attractive, such
as Jessie J.
5. Contents page
The heading for my contents page is ‘inside the
mag…’. It is presented in fancy writing to appeal
to the target audience. Also, instead of using a
plain ellipse, the full stops have been changed
to love hearts, to avoid the page looking boring.
The love hearts have been used throughout the
page, as the titles for each sections of the
magazines, have been changed to ‘love’ to a
heart. The headings relate to teenage females,
as girls are interested in boys, shopping and
fashion. Typical girly subjects. This will attract
the audience, as they would be interested in
reading about topics that they find interesting.
The contents page, is the same house style to
the front cover, as it is more professional and
appealing. The text type is different throughout
the contents page, however each font is fun and
attractive, it is also easy to read. The bold
headers make the audience find it easier to find
what sort of article they want to read about. The
different models presented on my contents
page let the readers know that the magazine
includes different pop stars, and not just one,
which makes it more interesting to read about.
6. Double Page Spread
The quote is the main text that attracts the audience to read about the article. Therefore to
make this stand out I have used a black background and a white text as this makes it stand
out more, and attracts the reader. However, to avoid the page looking boring, I used pink
text, and title, which will also still attract the audience, as pink is a girly typical colour. The
quote also summarises what the article is all about. I used a quote the celebrity I chose said
herself, as it will be more interesting for the audience, to know what the article is about. The
Image of the model is looking directly into the camera which attracts the audiences
attention. The smaller image on the left is used to advertise the article more. The images of
a celebrity holding a baby, lets the readers know the article will be baby related.
7. Double Page Spread
Instead of using the celebrities name, I wrote the title as ‘pop sensation tells juice about her
motherhood’. The pop sensation will advise the readers to read the article as they would
like to know what pop sensation. It also relates to any pop star, and because the article is
heart warming, it will advise the readers to buy more magazines, as anything can happen to
celebrities. Whereas if I used a name for the pop star, readers will automatically think it is
just the pop star only. The pink headings is used to show that the article is aimed at
females, and that they will be more interested in reading the article. In my group, we have
all used the colours black and pink on our double page spread, is does not stick with the
house style, but it shows that the double page spread is the most interesting and
important page in the magazine.
