The Guidance and
Counseling Program will:
See individual students referred by
teachers, administrators, parents and
student self-referral.
Conduct small group counseling sessions
as needed.
Conduct classroom guidance sessions as
needed.
Consult with parents regarding academic
and behavioral strategies.
The Guidance and
Counseling Program will:

Refer students and parents to community
agencies and other support services.
Assist with the transition from
elementary to middle and middle to high
school.
Maintain students’ permanent records
Conduct new student registration
The Guidance and
Counseling Program will:

Provide mandated and suicide training to
new and returning staff
Assist in developing strategies for
improving school climate
Coordinate test-taking activities
Coordinate the use of available career
resource activities
Coordinate Student Support Team/Tier II
Assist in school-wide programming
Response To Intervention
Use student data to collaborate with teachers,
counselors, administrators, students, and family
members to develop interventions, strategies, and
accommodations to address learning and/or
classroom behavioral concerns.
Direct informal collaboration to assist teachers in
differentiated instruction, scaffolding, and flex
grouping.
Schedule and conduct reviews of instructional
interventions with teachers to determine
effectiveness and to adjust to meet students'
academic/behavioral needs.
Conduct SST meetings with parents and teachers to
explain interventions and data results.
Response To Intervention
