                  Help!!! There is trash everywhere in our school. How are

     Title        1. You will read “Fight Waste at School” and “Zipper’s
 Introduction        Green Tips.”
     Task         2. Next you will answer the following questions:
                       a. What is recycling?
   Process
                       b. What does reduce mean?
  Evaluation           c. What does reuse mean?
  Conclusion           d. What are some ways we can recycle items?
                  3. Next, you will visit “Ollie Saves The Planet” and
                     explore and the different items that can be recycled.
                  4. After, exploring the website, you will create posters
                     in groups for recycling bins that are placed around
                     the school. Group 1 will do plastics, Group 2 will do
                     paper, and Group 3 will do cans.
                  5. After the bins are set-up we will go each Friday and
                     collect and sort the items.
                  6. Next as a group, decide on a craft to make out of the
                     items.

  Conclusion      In addition to addressing state standards, this lesson also taught
                  students about teamwork, critical thinking, and creative production.
                  Students will accomplish teamwork by working in groups to create
                  pieces of art from recycled material. Students will also use critical
                  thinking to conceptualize, apply, and synthesize information gathered
                  from the provided websites. Students will also use creative production to
                  produce their own pieces of artwork using recycled materials.
