Provide detailed descriptions from chosen examples that establish…
Clearly state what production technique(s) you think have
been used to create specific soundtrack elements
Setting
From the sounds of the cut scene it sounds like it is based in a battle arena at the
start it has a sort of dangerous or mysterious sound which fades into a more
orchestral sound. The orchestral sound starts at 0:12 and ends at the end of the cut
scene.
I think they done this by doing a live recording of
the battle scene.
Mood
The mood of the sound makes it feel, at the start, like a mysterious sound and then
after that it goes into a loud area as the fight starts which then put the sense of
action or violence.
I think they achieved this by doing a live sound
recording.
Game genre
From the soundtrack they have it sounds like a fantasy or adventure game because
it has the trumpet sound and the swords clanging makes it sound like an action
game because it makes it sound like there is action in the game from a sword fight
which would also suggest it is a fantasy. The swords clanging sound is from 0:15 till
0:36.
From the voices in the cut scene it sounds like the man sounds shocked or surprised
after the other person pulls out his/her sword. Then during the fight scene the man
asks the other person who talked him to fight like this and the other person said
his/her farther, this makes the person think who is this persons farther is.
I think for the swords clanging I think they did this
by doing field recording. While using ambient
sound recording.
Narrative
I think for the voices they used a VST effects
plugin after they live recorded the voices to make
it suit the area they are in, they did this so it
sounds more realistic. In the voices there is a lot
of reverb because of the VST effects they have
used because this cut scene sounds like it is in a
battle arena or something
