This is Jay Z’s tour date advert for his Magna Carta
World Tour.
The first thing I noticed is that it is in black and
white and the image in the background is of two
statues. This has been done because Jay Z has
managed to build a prestigious reputation with his
fans and the statue represents history.
Another thing I noticed is that the font is also in
black and white but the thing that makes it stand out
is the fact that it is in bold. This has been done so
that the person reading it would be able to see.
The think with Jay Z is that he doesn’t have to use
his picture for the tour date poster or show his name
in full as he is well known around the world.
Furthermore, that is the same font and image that is
used for his album cover so his fans would be able to
identify whose tour it is.
This is a half-page advert for Rihanna’s ‘Loud’
album.
The first thing I noticed was the colour scheme and
it is mainly red but in different shades. From my
own knowledge, I know that she had made her hair
red for this era.
The font is very simple and you clearly see the name
of the artist, the name of the album and when it is
going to be released and has an exclusive image
from the photo shoot for the album.
With the album artwork itself you can see a close up
of her face; this has been done so that the focus
would go on her and from my own knowledge, I
know that she loves to have close-up and half-shot
photos as her album artwork.

2. This is Robin Thicke’s tour advert for his Blurred
Lines Tour.
The first thing I noticed is the simplicity of the
poster. The main colours are red, black and white.
This is effective because it represents his simplicity
in style and his vocals. His name and the names of
the supporting acts are in bold and is easy to read.
Another thing I noticed is the way the information
provided is very limited; the only thing it give you is
information on which artist it is, the names of the
artists supporting the tour and the social networking
sites where his fans could find him. From my own
knowledge, I know that this has been done because
he is a well-known artist that hasn’t made an album
in nearly 3 years and as he is very popular, it would
make his fans want to research more on when he is
coming to a city near them.
This is a half-page advert for R&B artist’s Tamar
Braxton’s ‘Love & War’ album.
The first thing I noticed was that her name, her
album artwork and her promotional image are the
main things you can see in the advert. Her album
artwork is the only section of the advert that has
colour in it. This is effective because it makes it
stand out and is the purpose of the advert.
Another thing I noticed was the fact that it was a
online advert and that her fans can create their own
album cover like how her one is like. This is
effective because this would make the fans feel
engaged and apart of this era and experience.
In addition to this, there are share links to social
networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter: this
is effective because this would allow her fans to
spread the word about Tamar’s album to their
friends and family.

3. This is Rita Ora’s tour date advert for her The Ora
World Tour.
The first thing I noticed is that the colour scheme is
red, black and white. This is effective as they are
very simple and is not blinding on the eyes,
In this tour date advert, I can see pictures of Rita Ora
and her supporting acts Iggy Azalea and Havana
Brown. This is effective because it would allow her
fans to see who is going to be performing on her tour
and get to see who they are as individual artists.
Another think I notice is that the actual tour dates are
in white and are the only text in white. This is
effective because that would make the readers
attentions automatically focus on the dates.
Finally, I noticed that her official website and her
supporting act’s official websites has also been
included at the bottom. This is effective as her fans
will be able to get to know who they are as
individual artists and could gain more fans from this.
