2. Font Cover First draft
This is an image of my first draft of
my first cover, there is not enough
on the front of it to draw the
reader in no colour and there are
some feature on the right and
some on the left.
To improve I need colour and more
on the front and all my features on
the left hand side.
3. Improved Draft Of Front Cover
This is my improved front cover it
includes more colour so it is eye
catching and has more features on the
front to draw the reader in also the
features are on the left hand side
however In my final draft I will include
more colour and the main image will be
more to the right and larger.
4. Contents Page First Draft
This is my first draft of my contents page
it lacks colour and content to improve
upon this I should include more colour
and more features plus more pictures
this would make it more eye catching
and draw the reader in making them
want to read on.
5. Improved Draft Of Course Work
This my improved contents
page I have kept the same
layout and there are 3 columns
which creates structure to the
page also I have included more
images which are anchored
down by big bold page
numbers, I have also added a
lot of colour the main colour is
red which will be part of my
house style.
6. Double Page Spread Draft
This is my first draft of my
double page spread on the
right hand page there is a
sketch of ‘SUUS’ who the
article will be about the main
headline is on the top left in
big bold letters which jump
out also there is a headline
underneath.
7. Improved Draft Of Double Page Spread
This is my improved double
page it is the same layout as
my first draft but I have
added more colour which
links to the house style and
made the picture bigger
and more eye catching it
also includes a grab quote.
8. Double Page Spread Text Draft
SUUS (max Simpson) first took upon rapping at age 15, rapping in car parks in his local area against rappers much older than him,
he may not have won many but this didn’t matter soon after he broke through into the ‘don’t flop’ rap battle leagues which take
place nationwide often holding main events were the top rap battles happen.
On his debut at don’t flop he faced another rapper aged 15, SUUS said ‘me and blizzard were friends going into the battle and we
are now but when you battle you don’t hold back’ SUUS won this battle hands down showing his potential as a young rapper and
one that should be respected and feared by others, the battle how has over 36,000 views on YouTube and has many other don’t
flop rap battles up on YouTube. Following his success in the rap battle he created an official ‘Facebook’ page which has over 1000
‘likes’ where he began to post songs he had written with help from his mentor ‘Definition’
Soon after his debut on ‘Don’t Flop’ and creating a ‘Facebook’ page SUUS released an EP ‘The Prototype EP’ which included 4
songs by the rapper not quite enough for an album but he says ‘it was just a sample of what was to come’ which was proven to be
right as months went on he returned to battling in ‘Don’t Flop’ going on a winning streak until he won his place in a main event in
the ‘Don’t Flop’ calendar at ‘Grime Time’ where he battled ‘Jefferson Price’ another friend of SUUS this was the battle which
would include the famous quote from SUUS ‘Keep off the law that’s what the skate parks for’ an instant classic with the ‘Don’t
Flop’ viewers little did he know it but slowly he was working his way up the ranks.
In late 2011 now 17 SUUS released his debut album ‘Happy birthday to me’ released on his birthday, he had finally released an
album with the help off some fellow rappers who helped produce and feature on his album. The album received over 500
downloads after 2 days of been up on ‘Soundcloud’ as a free download including 11 tracks all written by the young rapper. Shortly
after this he announced he would be working on 3 new cover tracks which would be released over a few weeks the first of which
a cover of ‘paradise’ by ‘Coldplay’ which received over 1000 views in a matter of days the young rapper said ‘It was outstanding
that it got that many views in such a short period of time’ finally he was receiving the recognition he desired and deserved.
Lately SUUS has returned to his ‘Don’t Flop’ roots and now began to do live gigs in bars and other venues ‘it may only attracted
small crowds but you have to start somewhere’. Although he has returned to ‘Don’t Flop’ there are many unsure whether he will
stay on or leave as there was talk of leaving from the rapper early on in the year when we asked he replied ‘only time will tell’
whatever the case he is certainly a up and coming star and we recommend the download of his album and cover tracks that or

9. Draft Of Photos For My Magazine
This my quick draft of my photos I
would take to put in my magazine,
there is no colour on them and they
are very small. They do have a small
description next to each picture but
it is not detailed.
10. Draft Photo 1
This is my first photo of
‘SUUS’ looking away from the
camera and on a angle this
creates depth to the photo. It
is also a close up.
11. Draft Photo 2
This is a picture of ‘SUUS’ it’s
a mid shot of him with his
hands apart as later on I will
edit in the headline ‘SUUS’
between his hands. He is
looking at the camera as it is
more direct to the audience.
12. Draft Photo 3
This picture shows someone
playing the guitar they will
be on an angle and looking
at the camera as this makes
it more direct the angle
creates more depth to the
photo and the prop links it
to the genre of the
magazine.
13. Draft Photo 4
This picture is of someone
singing into a microphone as if it
is a live gig it is a close up and
the subject wont be looking at
the camera as this makes it look
more like its live.
14. Draft Photo 5
In this picture I have
drawn a picture of
‘SUUS’ for my double
page spread photo
looking directly at the
reader with his arms
folded looking ‘gangster’
15. Similar Products and Target Audience
• My magazines main influence is ‘Kerrang’
magazine as it is based on the same genre of
music and its target audience applies to my
magazine as they will want to read about the
same genre of bands which my magazine will
include also I have took ideas from the ‘Q’
magazine house style of red and white as
these stand out and are easy on the eye this
will be used through out the magazine to
make it feel familiar.
