Cadillac Fairview requested
an interactive sculpture for
the Downtown Vancouver
mall, Pacific Centre. The
Quirky Elephant was an
interactive Installation in
Pacific Centre unifying We were given the parameters of an
shoppers via audio playback interactive installation titled the “White
of unique quirks posted Elephant.” Cadillac Fairview requested
online anonymously. that we rebrand the project, define the
form, and oversee all production until
exhibition.
Finally choosing the “Quirky Elephant,”
our intent was to bring out the fun in a
predominantly business and retail locale.

donating breast milk, as well We had to create a campaign that
as a sports-inspired bustier encouraged women to donate,

trust that donated breast milk is

immune systems.
FACTS
• The Vancouver milk bank helped over 1000
children in 2010 .
• Children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit are at
the top of the list for breast milk donation, followed
by children undergoing surgery. Children whose
mothers cannot lactate are at bottom priority, and
are left with formula milk.
• The World Health Organization recommends that
every child be breastfed for the first six months of
their life at least; breast milk provides nutrients and

THE PRODUCT
Performing user testing and
first-through-third hand research, Tubes
we determined that an electric,
hands-free pump was the most
efficient product to fit into the
system, to encourage women to
donate.
Unlike existing breat pumps, the Motor
Flo breast pump fills into smaller
bags that are convenient for
storage, rather than personal use.
This encourages more women
to naturally breastfeed their
children, a healthyand natural
relationship.
