  • Businesses join various social networking sites, such as Facebook,Twitter and MySpace, as millions of people worldwide are members, therefore, more people will be able to receive and view the information instantly. On Twitter, there is a 140 character limit when composing tweets, therefore, the followers of the company, will receive short, but to the point information about the company, products and services, however, on Facebook, you can write longer messages, therefore customers will be able to receive more in depth information. Images of products and services can be posted online, so people will be able to able to view them easily, and kept up with what is going on. Website links can also be used really easily on Facebook, by just copying the link in the URL bar. On Twitter, it is more difficult because of the character restrictions, but once the link has been entered, the use of t.co, automatically shortens the link. Another way to shorten the link, is the use of the bit.ly. If it is a small business that has just recently been set up, or if it is relatively unknown to the public, creating a social network account, such as Facebook or Twitter. Companies such as Dell have known to post job advertisements on social networking sites, because they know that the people that regularly keep up to date with the company are interested, and therefore would know what they are talking about.

    1. 1.  Millions of people are on social networking sites worldwide, so they will beable to receive and view the information instantly. Customers and clients are able to view short, but to the point pieces ofinformation. Images of products and services can be uploaded online. Website links can be shown quickly and instantly. It raises awareness about the actual company. People can receive upgrades on the progress of a product. Customers have a direct link to businesses, as they have the ability toeither Direct Message them or tweet them directly, if they are using Twitter. Businesses post information about employment opportunities on socialnetworking sites. Businesses can promote actual products and announce new ones that maybe coming up in the future. They may also use it for market research to find out what the customersactually want for a product. They can announce company initiatives.
