Sometimes its journey is unimpeded, or its content increases with rainSometimes its journey is unimpeded, or its content increases with rain

PATIENCE INPATIENCE IN – Striving diligently to avoid committing sins ;– Striving diligently to avoid committing sins ;
refraining from following our desires (refraining from following our desires (HAWA’HAWA’) and evil temptations) and evil temptations
which directs towards disobedience (which directs towards disobedience (MA’-SIYAHMA’-SIYAH))towards Allah’s))towards Allah’s
command; avoiding company and occasions (gatherings) whichcommand; avoiding company and occasions (gatherings) which

This requires firstly knowledge of theThis requires firstly knowledge of the Shari-’ahShari-’ah, as well as, as well as
knowledge concerning the (knowledge concerning the (HAALHAAL) state of our) state of our NaNafsfs (Self). With(Self). With
these, a constant struggle must be waged to submit it to the Will ofthese, a constant struggle must be waged to submit it to the Will of

PATIENCE INPATIENCE IN – Facing whatever difficulties and hardship which– Facing whatever difficulties and hardship which
Allah’s test determines; to bear the pain and suffering from people orAllah’s test determines; to bear the pain and suffering from people or
others who oppress us just because of our upholding our religiousothers who oppress us just because of our upholding our religious

This requires commitment, preparedness and readiness to makeThis requires commitment, preparedness and readiness to make
sacrifices. Thus the importance of knowledge of Allah, His promise ofsacrifices. Thus the importance of knowledge of Allah, His promise of
reward and warning of punishment – paradise or Hell-fire in thereward and warning of punishment – paradise or Hell-fire in the
eternal Hereafter; the life of prophets, those who are true, martyrs andeternal Hereafter; the life of prophets, those who are true, martyrs and

PATIENCE INPATIENCE IN – Not giving up the cause of obedience; never to– Not giving up the cause of obedience; never to
slacken in our devotion and worship; in speaking for the truth alwaysslacken in our devotion and worship; in speaking for the truth always
determine to eradicate falsehood and evil; being true to our promisedetermine to eradicate falsehood and evil; being true to our promise
