2. Mainstream companies:
• Universal
• Paramount
• New Line Cinema
• Warner Bros
• Sony
A big way it is advertised is through film festivals such
as the London Film Festival and the New York Film
Festival. These festivals can generate publicity for the
films and awards can come out of them, which would
make the film more popular and make the films gross, a
lot bigger. Some cinemas are independent film only
cinemas, so the films that are shown there, can be
advertised through the cinema company.

Mainstream Films can be
advertised through media online
and offline. When they include
popular stars, sequels of famous
films or a gripping narrative
advertisement through billboards
and posters are just as effective in
getting the audiences attention than
online advertisements.
3. When I searched films Paramount have distributed, the majority of the results
were thrillers and sci-fi films thus proving that our film is more likely to fit in this
film distribution company.
4. Our film, in particular, is mainstream as our main distribution company is
Paramount. We felt like our film would fit as a mainstream film as it shows
similarities within the narrative in popular mainstream films and also the fact
that our opening title sequence is Non-Linear. Brick (2005) , distributed by
Focus Features, has an opening title sequence that is Non-Linear which shows
events that take place later on in the film i.e the murder of the main female
fatale. Despite the fact that the distribution company is an independent film
company, the film in general and the narrative have similarities to our film
such as the build up to the mysterious murder and the story to how the victim
ended up dead/murdered.
