2. Suitable Companies
Example 1 of a Comedy Horror film: ‘Shaun of the Dead.’
Produced by: Universal Pictures and Working Title Films
Distributed by: Rogue Pictures
Example 2 of a Comedy Horror film: ‘Zombieland.’
Produced by: Relativity Media and Pariah
Distributed by: Columbia Pictures
4. 20th Century Fox
The bright lights and the majestic non-diegetic music suggest that 20th
Century Fox is a sophisticated and prestigious company. The change from the
high to low angle implies that they are quite superior and the fact the spot
lights move to face the logo gives the impression that it’s almost royal and of
great importance. As the clip is drawing to a close, the pitch of the music
gets higher, and it ends with an establishing shot of the entire logo, showing
the 3D effect.
5. Lionsgate
The Lionsgate logo animation begins with an extreme close up on gears moving
around, and soon reverse zooms into an ordinary close up. A keyhole is then
revealed followed by a bright light before the company name appears. The score
music begins relatively quiet and climaxes as the door is opened. Everything
working together in the animation could symbolise how they put a lot of work and
effort into their company and how everything links together. It could also represent
how necessary production/distribution companies are to the film industry.
6. Inspiration
Things I can take from this research for my own work:
• Start of with a close up and slowly reverse zoom
• Dramatic score music
• Lights
For me, these were the main things which stuck out to
me during this research. I will consider using these
when decided on our own production and distribution
company.
