2. • The film opens with an establishing/long shot of the basketball court
with KEIRAN playing basketball by himself, bouncing the ball etc.
• Next is a close up shot of LILY through the fence to the court watching
KEIRAN play. She calls his name for him to come over.
• Over the shoulder shot (behind LILY) of KEIRAN turning around and
looking at her.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN looking back at LILY before deciding to run over.
• Wide shot of KEIRAN running over towards her (it becomes a two shot). We
see the two sides of the fence in the shot and the massive height
difference between them.
• Mid-close up shot/ shot reverse shot of their conversation. LILY tells
KEIRAN that she has to go now and that she will see him later/tomorrow.
• Mid shot (ellipsis) of LILY walking away and leaving KEIRAN behind at
the basketball court.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN quickly pulling a drink out of his bag – he’s thirsty
as he has just been playing sports.
• Next is a close up shot on KEIRAN’S face and mouth of him taking a sip
of the drink from the bottle.
3. • Extreme close up shot on KEIRAN’S throat/ Adam’s apple where we see him
swallowing the drink down.
• After a straight cut, there is a close up shot of a news reporter,
warning people about the dangerous affects of the excessive intake of
this drink. He seems panicked and has a very serious tone.
• There is a fade to black transition, symbolising the channel changing
and next is another close up shot on another news reporter warning the
public about the same drink. Similarly, she is panicked and serious.
• The second fade to black symbolises the TV being switched off.
• Long shot of KEIRAN standing up in his living room, holding the TV
remote towards the TV, implying he has just turned it off.
• Long shot of KEIRAN from behind, walking out of his living room.
• High angled, almost overhead shot on the stairs of KEIRAN running up
them quickly.
• Close up shot on the bedroom door handle. KEIRAN opens the door.
• Over the shoulder shot of KEIRAN walking into his bedroom.
4. • Mid shot of KEIRAN sitting on his bed. He looks sleepy and drowsy. His
eyes are starting to close.
• Close up shot of a fist banging on KEIRAN’S bedroom door, hard. We don’t
see the person but the hand is wearing a ring.
• Long shot of KEIRAN’S door from the other side (his side of the door).
The knocking sound continues and his mum calls out to him, telling him
to go to bed.
• Close up of his face, showing his reaction. He rolls his eyes but goes
to bed anyway, irritated by his mum.
• Overhead shot of KEIRAN covering himself with the bed covers, going to
sleep for the night.
• Pan from the high angled overhead shot to a shot of the bottles on the
floor. There are loads of the same bottle spread around his bedroom-
they’re all for the drink he had drunk as the news were warning about.
• Establishing shot of the outside of the house/block in the morning to
symbolise it is the next day. It will be daylight, sun shining.
• POV shot showing KEIRAN’S eyes opening, staring at the ceiling, then
panning down as he sits up in his bed.
• Mid shot from behind KEIRAN. He shuffles to the edge of his bed,
attempts standing up but falls down right away. His legs are weak and
wobbly.
5. • Overhead shot showing KEIRAN lying on the floor from where he just fell,
we see some of the bottles lying on the floor as well.
• POV showing KEIRAN lifting himself up and heading towards the bedroom
door to leave the room. Walking typically like a zombie.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN opening the door and walking/ stumbling/ stomping out
(typical zombie walk).
• POV shot from KEIRAN walking/ stumbling/ stomping towards the bathroom
door.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN from behind, walking/ stumbling/ stomping towards the
bathroom.
• POV shot of KEIRAN’S hand reaching out and turning the door handle,
walking into the bathroom. His nails are yellow, broken and disgusting.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN from behind, looking into the mirror of the bathroom.
He stands there for quite a while, staring at himself.
• Close up shot of KEIRAN looking straight into the camera lens (as if he
is looking into the mirror). This is where we become fully aware that he
has become a zombie. His face has scars and wounds, dark circles around
the eyes, and generally looks dead and zombie-like. Hair is messy. Eyes
look lifeless.
6. • Long shot of KEIRAN standing at the bus stop, waiting for the bus for
school. It is very clear to everyone (but himself) that he is a zombie.
• Long shot, as the bus approaches he lifts his hand to tell the driver to
stop. His hand falls off. He gets confused/ embarrassed and quickly
picks it up and puts it back into place.
• POV shot, KEIRAN is looking up and the bus drives past him. When the bus
leaves he notices
• LILY on the opposite side of the road.
• Mid shot of LILY smiling when she sees him, she lifts up her hand to
wave at him.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN lifting his hand too to wave. It falls off again.
• Mid shot of LILY still waving but her facial expression looks confused
and awkward. She slowly stops waving and walks away swiftly.
• Close up on KEIRAN’S face, he looks confused and doesn’t know why LILY
acted like that.
• Long shot of KEIRAN waiting at the school gate, he has his hands behind
his back, hiding something.
• Long shot of LILY walking towards him outside of school.
7. • Two shot, both KEIRAN and LILY smile at each other.
• Over the shoulder shot, over LILY’S shoulder, showing KEIRAN. He pulls
out a bunch of flowers from behind his back.
• Close up on the flowers. They’re dead, dull and lifeless.
• Close up of KEIRAN’S face grinning, he thinks he’s the best boyfriend
ever for this gift of flowers. He doesn’t realise they’re disgusting.
• Close up of LILY’S face, frowning and looking slightly concerned as to
why he’s given dead flowers to her.
• Mid shot, she takes the flowers with a false smile and walks away from
him. The smile is a forced, awkward grin.
• Long shot from behind LILY walking up the path into the school.
• Mid shot of LILY still walking up the path, carrying on into school.
• Mid shot of LILY looking back down the path, KEIRAN isn’t to be seen so
she uses the opportunity to throw the flowers into the bin which she
passes.
• Long shot, KEIRAN walking up the same path to go into school. He glances
at the bin and notices the flowers in there. He is heartbroken by this.
Nothing seems to be going right for him.
8. • Close up on KEIRAN’S face, he looks really sad. Pouted lips and sad
eyes.
• Long shot of LILY walking down the road, after school has finished.
• Close up on LILY’S face, still walking down the road after school, she
looks to the side and notices KEIRAN and his friends.
• 2 shot, KEIRAN and his FRIEND are eating. FRIEND offers him food but
KEIRAN declines, saying he has his own. He brings out a bag full of
fingers, one of them has a ring on it.
• Mid shot of FRIEND looking horrified and disgusted, he gets up and
leaves right away.
• Next is a close up shot on LILY’S face, she looks sad and feels sorry
for KEIRAN.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN sitting down at the bus stop this time, looking
slumped and sad. He then looks up to see LILY across the road.
• Eyeline match – long shot of LILY walking by across the road. She stops
when she sees him.
• Mid-close up shot of LILY smiling and waving enthusiastically at him.
• Mid-close up shot of KEIRAN looking away and then lowering his head. He
still feels upset and saddened, and doesn’t want to see her.
9. • Close up on LILY, she looks disheartened at first but suddenly comes up
with an idea – her facial expression lights up.
• Long shot of LILY running into a local corner shop.
• Close up of LILY looking down at her phone, sending KEIRAN a text.
• Mid shot of KEIRAN staring out of a window, still looking sad and sorry
for himself.
• Close up of KEIRAN’S face. He turns when he hears the sound of a text
message come through.
• Mid shot of him taking the phone out of his pocket.
• Close up on the phone being pulled out of his pocket and held in his
hand.
• Overhead shot of KEIRAN looking down at his phone with the message on
it.
• Close up shot of KEIRAN’S phone, showing the text from LILY which says
‘I have a surprise for you’.
• Close up of KEIRAN looking excitedly at the camera.
10. • Close up shot of LILY looking down towards something in her hands. She
also looks nervous, biting her lip, looking fidgety etc.
• Eyeline match of what she’s looking down at, a close up shot of a
bottle. The same bottle which KEIRAN has in his room.
• Mid-close up shot of LILY looking at the bottle, contemplating whether
or not to drink it. There is a voiceover of her thoughts questioning
what to do).
• Close up of her lips, the drink being put to her lips and sipping the
drink from the bottle.
• Close up on her throat, mirroring how it was drunk with KEIRAN, showing
the swallowing of the drink going down her throat.
• Next is an extreme close up on LILY’S eyes, widening. She is in total
shock of what the drink is doing to her and her body.
• Long shot from behind KEIRAN walking onto the path near his home. He is
going into his house.
• Close up shot from behind KEIRAN showing his feet still walking down the
path. They stop when they meet another pair of feet which are standing
at his doorway.
• Close up on KEIRAN’S face. He looks absolutely horrified, eyes widened,
mouth open.
11. • Panning from the other pair of feet (LILY’S feet) from the bottom to the
top. Once it gets to her face (close up) we can see how ugly she has
become, she’s a zombie too after drinking the same juice that KEIRAN
did.
• Close up shot of her face, she’s grinning ecstatically, dribble etc
coming from her mouth. Generally really disgusting. She greets him with
a gross smile.
• Close up on KEIRAN’S face once again, his facial expression is still
horrified. He’s definitely not interested in her any more, even though
she’s gone to all the trouble of changing for him.
