How would you feel if you find out all the pictures you took didn't actually go to the receiver you
sent? I'm sure all of you are familiar with snapchat right now and I know all of us sent many
pictures to our friends just for their own amusement and to make their life better with our amazing
faces.
I'm sure we have all heard though whatever we post online will stay with us forever, but snapchat is
safe because their policy is to allow a temporary picture, right? Today I will explain how their
pictures actually stay with you forever, with snapchat basic policy, how it affected one college
student and ways to protect yourself. So, Snapchat pictures disappears in 10 seconds or less right?
Not really! I mean of course there is a screenshot and we are notified when that happens. And our
generation we all have this app. In fact this app has 100 million users as of May last year according
to Craig Smith a writer for the digital assistant on apps. And it has being very enjoyable to us, cause
their policy even states that this is an amazing thing, it makes our lives better and its very enjoyable.
But I'm sure we all want to know if our pictures did disappear, in their update say allow for the
picture to actually not disappear, they say that whatever we snap is inevitably theirs. And their latest
policy they say to clear up the rumors as of March 29th of 2016 that whatever we post, we give to
them. Not only do they have our private pictures but they have our private information, they

Nancy Parsons Exotic Dress
After reading a description of the portrait painting, such as the one written above, or simply by
looking at it, one might be confused as to how Nancy Parsons in Turkish Dress displays this person's
role as a courtesan. This is due to the fact that there are no overly overt signs for the modern viewer
to understand immediately without some in–depth research. For instance, she is not shown partially
or completely nude to indicate her selling of sexual services. Yet, when one understands the
traditional interpretation of a direct gaze at the viewer or the hidden meaning behind Parsons' exotic
dress within its historical context, it becomes quite clear that she is a courtesan. Nancy Parsons
stares out at the assumed male audience with a passive

Dragonborn Alternate Ending
It was changing out there. Just like last time. The Elves could feel it in the air. The Mages could see
it in their crystal balls. The farmers crops died while the cows no longer gave milk. With the lands
barren, and the rivers almost dry caused a world wide search to begin. Where was the Dragonborn?
The hero who slayed Alduin. They searched for many moons for the famed Dragonborn yet not a
single soul had seen him since the fall of Alduin. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into
months causing the good people to abandon all hope. Winter was coming. It was right around the
corner. Soon the barren lands were covered in a thick blanket of frozen water. People were dying
from starvation. The animals froze, yet still the Dragonborn had yet ... Show more content on

Tossing it over her shoulder, she exited her house through the hidden entrance, and walked down a
long dark tunnel. An hour later she was standing outside in a large vast meadow with the city of
Whiterun behind her. Letting a long sharp whistle escape her lips, she smiled slightly as
Shadowmere appeared before her. Throwing one leg over, Rozen was off riding towards the north.
Two months later, she stood inside a small shack with a frown on her angelic face. The dress she
wore was two sizes to small. It clung to her curvy toned frame like a glove, and caused her large
breasts to nearly spill out over the top. Letting an angry sigh escape her pale pink lips, she placed
her leg on the edge of the wooden chair causing her pale leg to appear. Slipping a small sharp dagger
into her boot, she reached for her cloak, tossed it over her shoulders, and then stepped out into the
world beyond.
It was a gray dreary day when she chose to break into Winterfell. The storm clouds where heavy
over head, and thunder rumbled in the distance. Pulling her cloak tight against her body, she hurried
along the dirt road, and only stopped to admire the castle before her. Within seconds she was in the
kitchen, hanging her cloak on the hook, and before she knew it she was within the stone halls of

The Curse Of Sleeping Beauty
Picked mostly on a whim, I was kind of excited to watch this to trash talk it as what reviews I had
seen weren't very kind. But The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is actually really watchable. Of course it
isn't great, but it's certainly not the train wreck I was led to believe. Parts were actually scary, with a
bit of a silent hill vibe to them and while the ending is more than a little on the predictable side of
things. That in no way hampers the enjoy ability of watching it all play out.
Thomas Kaiser (Ethan Peck) is an artist and a recluse with few friends. Since childhood he has had a
reccurring dream with a sleeping woman, Briar Rose (India Eisley). Though he always awakens
before he can kiss and wake her. One day he inherits an old mansion estate from an uncle he never
knew he had and goes to have it appraised for sale. Though things change after inherits the property,

Though I have a feeling that was kind of the point of the performance, it just doesn't play that well
of Natalie Hall and Bruce Davison's more serious and focus approach. India Eisley is also bland,
well right up until twist at the end when she actually does a fair amount of shinning.
My one of my two issue's with The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is that it's a bit to slow to get going.
Though once it got going it was great. My other being the predictability of what's going to happen.
Maybe I'm just jaded from seeing to many horror films over the years, but I saw the twist from
about the thirty minute mark.
Final thoughts, overall I really liked it. Was it a masterpiece? No, of course not as few films are. But
it was entertaining and I don't consider watching a complete waste of time. The visuals are nice, the
pacing is solid and it has a great dread location that is dripping with atmosphere. Would I
recommend it? Yes, I just recommend going into with an open mind and a six–pack.

The Reason Behind Discovery
The Reason behind Discovery Once I found this painting my initial reaction was that I wanted to be
able to see his face and was extremely bothered by the apple in the front. As I continued to look at
the photo I soon realized that I could actually see both of his eyes to the slightest extent. After
noticing this I was somewhat relieved that I could at lease see a small amount. The piece of the
painting that drew most of my attention simply because I felt that it was completely out of place.
Therefore by it being there I was both confused and upset at the same time. At this point I had not
reading the meaning behind why the author had decided to place it there and therefore was confused
and began to think that I was possibly looking at a modified painting of some kind. The man can be
seen as a problem and the apple can be seen as a distraction from the problem. There are several
techniques that were utilized the artists in order to cause the viewer to react in specific ways. One of
these is by making the painting completely balanced by placing the man and the apple in the direct
center of the painting. Not only did the artist place the object in the center but he also made the rest
of the objects in the painting significantly lighter. By doing this it causes the viewer to put more
focus onto the man and the apple. In terms of dominance, the artist made it so the man is the largest
object inside of the photo and therefore most of the attention goes towards him. The

Themes In Among The Hidden By Margaret Peterson Haddix
Risky for a Reason Like a ghost, he hides all the time and is afraid of the light. Among the Hidden is
a fictional book by Margaret Peterson Haddix that takes place in a dystopian society. The story is
about a boy named Luke Garner who does not legally exist. There is a law that families are not
allowed to have more than two children, and Luke has two older brothers. Therefore, Luke has spent
his whole life in hiding. Luke had never met anyone except his immediate family, until now. When
Luke sees another third child's face in his neighbor's house he decides to risk his life to go meet her.
Taking risks can be scary, but can change the way the life path twists forever. A static character is
someone who stays the same throughout the whole book. Once Luke finally sprints to the neighbor's
house, he discovers another third child whose name is Jen. Jen is a static character in Among the
Hidden. Luke and Jen almost instantly become friends. Jen is a very confident girl; she is confident
in everything she does and believes in. She is also outgoing. Plus, Jen has a one track mind. For
example, "'Stop Jen? That's like trying to stop the sun,'" (Haddix 127). Lastly, Jen is a leader. She
runs the whole rally to free all third children. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jen explains to Luke when he is too scared to go to the president's house; "You can be a coward and
hope someone else changes the world for you," (Haddix 111). In this quote, Jen declares to Luke
that sometimes you have to take a risk to change everything for yourself. Luke can not just let other
people fight for him. He has to take action for himself. Luke ends up taking action and it works out
for him. He gets to go to school and meet other children. Margaret Peterson Haddix sets an
inspirational tone for this section of the story. With Jen's powerful words and Luke's brave actions,

Perowne's Rationality
Ian McEwan's novel, Saturday, takes place on a single day, Saturday February 15th, 2003, and
follows the events of middle–aged man, Henry Perowne. Perowne lives a comfortable and
privileged lifestyle. He works a high paying job as a neurosurgeon, owns a nice house, and drives an
expensive car. He is happily married to his wife, Rosalind, and he has two talented children, Daisy
and Theo. Although he seems to live a "perfect" life, he is flawed by being primarily driven by his
rational thoughts. McEwan writes, "Perowne, the profesional reductionist, can't help thinking it's
down to invisible folds...written in code" (272). This mindset limits his capacity to feel and leads
him to a simple way of thinking, which makes him unable to fully connect with his surroundings. In
the novel, he experiences a series of events that makes him question his set way of thinking.
Through his two interactions with a young thug named Baxter, Perowne's rationality is challenged
which ultimately makes him change his perspective on his privileged life by the end of the novel.

The novel ends this way because it shows that even though Perowne is back to his clear thinking, he
has still changed due to his interactions with Baxter, who he calls his "unpickable knot of affliction"
(272). Perowne does not press charges on Baxter because he thinks he has a "diminishing slice of
life worth living" (278), and he asks himself, "Is this forgiveness...or is he the one seeking
forgiveness?" (278). Baxter helped him realize that he can be wrong and does not always have to
have control. If Perowne had not encountered Baxter, he would have not known how lucky he is to

Exages And Disadvantages Of Outsourcing
Many Companies nowadays have engaged outsourcing strategies to reduce cost. Instead of doing it
by their own staff, buying machines for fabrication. they engaged vendor to do it for them. There are
pros and cons when dealing other company to provide/manufacture/assemble goods. Advantage of
outsourcing is that It's undeniably true that it's cheaper to rent a factory –– and its workers –– than to
maintain them yourself. Good outsourcing must have a very good planning to overcome some
changes. The contract must be very well done, well define to adopt changes and will not result to
unexpected rise of cost. Rise of unexpected cost is then called the overlooking hidden cost. Some of
the hidden cost are as follows:

Retirement costs, Many companies having error of still paying retired and terminated employee due
to recording problem and lack of monitoring. This overpayment can cost hundreds of thousands of
dollars a year in foregone savings.
7. Planned headcount reduction, Most companies plan to reduce headcount through outsourcing, but
they usually end up keeping some employees to help in the transition – and the cost of extended
period of employees is not accounted for and adds on as hidden cost.
8. Poor change communications, poor communication about the changes in outsourcing is extremely
complex and burdensome. If you do it poorly and unplanned, some employees may leave before the
transition. Or, if you fail to give enough notice, some employees or union workers may stay too
long. In this case, you won't be able to reduce your manpower headcount in time, which means
you'll end up paying your employees and your service provider for the same work.
9. Shadow organizations, retained employees in the organization who continue doing old way things
almost always exist in an outsourcing relationship.
10. Staff augmentation, unanticipated hiring and training costs is the backfill position to those
employees leaving early before the

Introduction. My Relationship Development Paper Is About
INTRODUCTION
My relationship development paper is about a girl named Breana Young; our friendship was for
about 3 years. The current stage is terminated.
INITIATING
I had first met Breana in the fifth grade; although we weren't in the same class, I had met her at
recess. The elementary school we went to was pretty small so everyone in the same grade nearly
knew everyone. We would occasionally make awkward eye contact but never have actual
conversation. Fast forward to the eighth grade, Breana was friends with an old friend of mine named
Nina, so I was seeing her more and more often. Now that Nina and Breana had become friends,
Breana would sometimes eat lunch with Nina and I. She seemed pretty cool; I didn't know her very

Although we had two of the same classes and saw each other every day, we'd only speak in forensic
science because we sat next to each other. Throughout forensic science we'd exchange laughs about
the teachers we had and other students. One day Breana called me by surprise, I wasn't expecting
this because we usually only spoke in school or texted each other about school work. During the
conversation we were discussing the upcoming homecoming dance and we began to talk about our
family dynamic and what our home life is like. As we were on the phone Breana asked me to join
her at Eleanor Roosevelt's homecoming football game, this was the first time we had ever hung out
with each other outside of school. After the game her mom picked us up, this was the first time I had
ever met her; after her mom picked us up we had gone to her aunt's house where I had met more of
her family.
According to Johari's window the open box has grown larger because we are now exchanging
personal information and more details about each other. The hidden box is still there because I'm not
fully comfortable with her yet and haven't spent much time with her outside of school. The blind
box exists because it contains Breana's first impression about me and other feelings about me that
I'm unaware of.
INTENSIFYING
As my junior year was coming to an end I realized that I made a new friend, Breana. It was to my
surprise because I had a

Her placid facial expression, pastel costuming and low angle shot illustrates her individual freedom
as well as her freedom from worldly desires. She is seen to leap from the mysterious Wudang
Mountains and disappear into the clouds, symbolic of her tranquil mindset when taking a 'leap of
faith.' It is a choice which resonates with the Daoist philosophy of absolute non attachment and a
pure moral action.
The non–diegetic music in the scene of Jen taking a leap of faith sets a dreamy mood, suggesting
Jen has followed her dreams by 'flying' free from societal expectations and a male dominated
country. This enables the audience to feel a sense of hope for Jen in seeking her wish of being
together with Lo in the future.

Hidden Truth In C. S. Lewis Till We Have Faces
Roland Barthes once said that "Literature is the question minus the answer." This is a statement that
applies nearly perfectly to some novels: for example, Atonement questions what redemption really is
and The Picture of Dorian Gray questions what beauty really is, but neither novel provides a definite
answer to their respective questions. It cannot be universally applied in its entirety, however; though
Till We Have Faces is centered around a difficult question, it does end with a definite answer. C. S.
Lewis's Till We Have Faces uses the Greek gods as a symbol to ask why the Judeo–Christian God –
the God C. S. Lewis believed in – never seems to speak clearly and holds the answer in the meaning
of the work as a whole: the hidden truth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book she is given to read at her trial of the gods is very different from the book that she has
spent her entire life crafting; instead of a complaint against the hiddenness and silence of the gods, it
is a selfish, bitter complaint against the gods taking Psyche away from her and giving Psyche
happiness that Orual could have no part of. After she reads it, Orual says "There was given to me a
certainty that this, at last, was my real voice" (Lewis 292). What Orual sincerely believes to be her
honest and just complaint against the gods is nothing more than a smokescreen for her own greedy
possessiveness of Psyche. Her decision to convince Psyche to betray her husband was not "a
decision based on that love which springs from an honestly skeptical heart" (Elgin 99) as the reader
first believes it is, but is instead a willful ignorance of the truth due to selfishness. This truth is her
answer; the gods do not need to defend themselves against Orual's accusation because in reality the
only person she is accusing is herself. This is the meaning of the novel: the silence of God is not
because God does not have an answer, but because humanity does not understands the questions it is
asking. A complaint of the unfairness of God reveals more about the complainer than it does about
God, just as Orual's complaint of the selfishness of the gods reveals her own self–centeredness
instead of proving that of the gods. The actual question being asked behind the self–justifying
façade is in fact the real

Outsourcing, The Corporate Buzzword Of The Nineteen...
This issue facing my organization is outsourcing. Outsourcing, the corporate buzzword of the
nineteen–nineties through today, is a popular business approach utilized by companies focused on
lowering their cost structure, gain entrance to new markets, and expand and build capabilities.
Defined as, the strategic use of outside resources to perform activities traditionally handled by
internal staff and resources [Handfleld, R, 2006]. Initially, outsourcing targeted non–critical and
non–core activities such as facility maintenance and cleaning and security. Later the industry focus
began to include the core processes of manufacturing, logistics, and back office support functions. In
my experience, the term outsourcing strikes fear into the minds of employees and managers and
represents dollar signs to executives and investors. Open communication during change is critical
and to eliminate disconnects and misunderstandings. The objective of this paper is to describe both
sides, delve into the communication middle ground, and expose the avoidable hidden costs that exist
and provide possible solutions to reduce or avoid these hidden costs in value, human capital, and
knowledge. The origins of many outsourcing endeavors begin as part of a strategic planning session
during a period of lean years for a company or anticipation of a prolonged impending down–cycle.
This is a time–period when the organization does not have a viable competitive product to offer in
the market or the

Narrative Essay About Disneyland
My summer was really great this year, we went to Disneyland for my brother and I's birthday. It was
a really long drive to get to the Disney hotel that we were staying at, but it was totally worth the wait
though. While we were driving we saw a bunch of beautiful and fascinating things. We left earlier in
the Morning so we got to see the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was amazing, one of the prettiest
things I had ever seen. We stopped by a few places at the beginning of our trip so we could pick up
some snacks to eat on the way. My brother, Kristopher, fell asleep within the first hour we were
driving. I was listening to music, looking out the window, and snacking on a small bag of Takis. My
dad surprised us on the way when we went to go eat pizza from Little Caesars. I know that doesn't
sound like much of a surprise but I absolutely love Little Caesars pizza. I probably like it more than
most people to be honest. We finished most of our pizza taking the leftover pieces with us back to
the car. I was feeling pretty tired so I dozed off while listening to Shawn Mendes. I woke up to a
louder song blasting through my headphones. I turned down my volume and switched the song. I
checked my Google Maps and it said that we were about halfway to the park. After than I checked
my Snapchat and opened a Snap from Gabby. The bright pink words across a picture of her and her
sister read, "Can't wait to get to Florida!" I quickly take a picture of myself with my Florida,

Hidden Figures is a box office success representative of the socio–political climate of the modern
cinematic developments in the West. With the Hollywood stamp of approval, so to speak, Theodore
Melfi's directing and the diplomatic writing of Margot Lee Shetterly expose a 'hidden' moment in

Katherine vehemently debases Harrison of his public condemnation for her frequent absences.
Katharine speaks to the distance she travels each and every time she needs to relieve herself. She
expresses the burden of these prejudices, which obstruct her work, her livelihood, and her
responsibility as a single mother to provide for her daughters. The following scene is a touching
demonstration of breaking racial boundaries. Harrison knocks the "coloured" sign down and asserts,
"Here at NASA we all pee the same colour." Hidden Figures embeds a powerful theme for change.
This film addresses the endurance of principles impeding change, including, amendments in politics,
and democratic systems. Paul Strafford, a NASA engineer undervalues Katherine's work. Refusing
to let her sit in on the editorial meeting of John Glen's fast approaching mission. Strafford's

Literary Elements In Araby
James Joyce's literary work Araby is a well written piece that contains so many different elements of
literature, such as imagery, allusions and the use of symbols. By using these different elements, he is
able to paint a well, drawn out picture for the readers depicting the tripartite psyche that Freud
defined as the Id, Ego and Super–Ego. The main character in Araby is a young boy living with his
aunt and uncle who wants to attend the local bazaar which is called Araby in the piece of literature.
He is late going to the bazaar when his uncle comes home late from work with the money he is
allowed to use, fearing he will be late and the bazaar will be closed or nothing left to buy. He finally
arrives after all the trouble of rushing and catching trains to get there to only leave empty handed
and disappointed. This boy in the story represents an idea that is so much bigger than one orphaned
boy living with his drunk uncle trying to impress the girl next door. Expressed in Karen R. Smith's
article Ethnic Irony and the Quest of Reading: Joyce, Erdrich, and Chivalry in the Introductory
Literature Classroom she briefly highlights that Joyce who has an Irish background, "easily
represents the pinnacle of the primarily British and American movement of high Modernism." After
taking this into consideration and re–reading the story, the readers can easily recognize the

Hudsucker Proxy, No Country For Old Men And The Coen Brothers
The movie "The Hudsucker Proxy, No Country for Old Men, Blood Simple and Raising Arizona"
were all directed by the "Coen Brothers" a duo of filmmakers. Every film that the Coens have made,
the story usually starts out with an average Joe who gets involved in a complex scheme that appears
to be simple at first, but, in all reality, is totally beyond them. Violence, death, and murder are
usually common within their films as well. In "No Country For Old Men, the middleman kills
almost every single person that stands in his way. In the movie "The Hudsucker proxy" a business
man committed suicide by jumping out of a window within the first ten minutes of the movie. The
Coen Brothers have proven to fit the Auteur Theory because of the similarities of their films that
they have directed and written as well as their consistency. The movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden
Dragon" is a motion picture fantasy drama that falls under the Genre action/adventure. The film
gained so much popularity in Asia, managed to make its way to the United States and win four
Academy Awards. One could compare it to the movies "Kill Bill Vol 1, Kill Bill Volume 2, and The
Gladiator". In all three movies, swords of different styles are used in multiple ways. Each individual
film includes scenes of vengeance, assassins, battles, murder and triumph. "Crouching Tiger, Hidden
Dragon" is an example of "Classical" in the cycle of Genre's, because the film sets a tone for the

Persuasive Essay About Makeup
According to Shaun Dreisbach, 97% of women will be cruel to their bodies today. This statistic is a
surprisingly high amount of people and I was quite shocked to see this result. When I think about
other women hating themselves, it saddens me, but when I think about my own low self–esteem, it
seems warranted. Now knowing this statistic, it does not surprise me how often girls use makeup to
cover up their insecurities. Makeup can be used as a mask to cover up the blemishes that lay across
the face of any human (BE11). The small conundrum with this mask is that many people will never
feel comfortable with taking it off. We use makeup so often to cover up the things we feel are subpar
that we are never able to fully embrace what we were given naturally. This is why for my thirty–day
challenge to push the limits, I decided to no longer wear makeup. Ever since I was a young girl,
makeup has been a tremendous part of my life (BE2) I do not remember one day when I would bare
a clean face in the seventh and eighth grades. Wearing makeup made sense in my head. If I darkened
and lengthened my eyelashes, that would lead to more boys showing me affection. If I gave myself a
blush tint to my cheeks, it would lead to more of my fellow popular girl peers showering me with
compliments. And if I filled in the sparse hairs that laid upon my forehead, I was more likely to gain
the attention of people looking for friends.
In 2016, I turned seventeen. It was during this year of my life that my makeup habits became
extreme. Primer, foundation, concealer, powder, contour, bronzer, blush, highlighter, eyebrow
pencil, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, setting spray were all tools I used to create a face I felt was
superior to the one I was given (SC4). Instead of accentuating my facial features, I would try and
create completely new entities. This was not positive on my mental health: I was part of the 97% of
women who are cruel to themselves every day (SC3). The more I participated in the action the more
I favored hating the way I looked in the mirror every morning. It was only a year ago when all of
these events took place. To this day I still find myself falling back into the push and pull of disliking
myself.

There were two variables installed, one of which focused on a photo stimuli and the other using a
phrase provision, wherein the students that contributed happened to have gone through multiple
tasks that led to them gaining hidden information. Using something called probe study, the students
were then randomly assigned either levels of constraints in which they enacted upon the tasks at
different intervals and sessions using something called familiar or unfamiliar methods. As stated
earlier, multiple probe methods were used during the tests varying in degree to the order in which
participants went through the tasks. The students, 36 of them, went through photographs of faces on
the photo constraints and a couple were chosen at random to observe said faces in a limited amount
of time. After the observations were over, the students were asked questions regarding the faces
they've seen, specifically any changes in mood and facial structure. As the start of the procedure,
this portion was done so multiple time in reordered sections so as to remove any validation issues,
and then moved on to a rating section wherein they scored the faces based on looks. In the second
constraint, the rest of the participants worked on different words and, like the earlier photo variable,
there were students picked at random to participate in a smaller probe in which they were revealed
particular words and asked to memorize the order in which they were given out. They

Union University Art Gallery Analysis
Union University Art Gallery plays host to several different artists' galleries throughout the year, for
free and open to the public. Currently on display is "Hodgepodge", a collection of about ten
canvases by Brian Bundren. While Bundren has been painting and displaying his artwork for quite
some time (his first gallery was in the mid–1990s!), "Hodgepodge" contains paintings only from
2013–2016. All of the artwork shows great precision and attention to detail. The colors are vibrant
and rich. That is not to say the colors were bright or cheerful (only one painting was particularly
"bright"), but the colors were all pure and distinct. Most of the paintings, in my opinion, would fit
under the umbrella of surrealism. Walking into the gallery immediately starts to produce feelings of
unease and perhaps feelings of being threatened. The individual objects in the paintings are very
realistic but mashed together in unnatural ways. Only one painting, "J.V.'s Thunderbird", felt "calm";
it did not cause me to personally feel discomfort, even though it was not peaceful. It was a large
canvas displaying an underwater scene in bright blue. A Thunderbird was half–visible along the
bottom edge of the canvas. A deep sea diver was present, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There is a muzzle, open and snarling, behind a few peonies. At first glance, it appears to be the
muzzle of a dog, but careful inspection of the shape of the nostrils, mandible, and placement of what
appears to be the eyes, it looks more to be a baboon, one of the great ape family. Pink peonies (there
are two in full bloom and one bud) commonly represents love and honor, while white peonies (there
is one at the bottom) represents shyness or bashfulness. For me, this painting shows that for every

Course Description: Academic Coaches/Leaders
You will attend four face to face (F2F) Professional Learning days. During those days you will be
actively engaged as a learner. Your engagement will happen along two different paths. First, you will
be reading, thinking, collaborating, and writing reflections about mathematical domains,
professional journal articles, and or the mathematical practices. Secondly you will be actively
engaged in learning about and doing hands–on AIMS math tasks.
Once the Face 2 Face Learning day is completed and upon returning to their school, academic
coaches and academic leaders are expected to observe the implementation of ONE AIMS math task
in a math class, and submit TWO written reflections of the experience in an organized manner by
using the Haiku online site. One of these reflections will be visible only to the AIMS F2F
Facilitators and the AIMS Online instructors and one will be visible to all of the AIMS Instructors
and all of the participants in your academic coaching and academic leaders group to encourage
collegiality, connection, and to create and maintain a learning community.
For the purposes of this project the academic coaches and academic leaders will use "An

Understanding The Hidden Layers And Complexities That Lie...
II. CASE STUDY ANALYSIS:
1.
2. According to Cloke and Goldsmith (2011), "one way of understanding the hidden layers and
complexities that lie beneath the surface of our conflicts is by using the metaphor of the iceberg" (p.
66). Just like an iceberg, there are layers in conflicts. What we see is only a portion of what is
happening. Below the water line, is much more. In fact, the portion that we see on the surface is the
current issue at hand. The issue is usually easy to observe. On the other hand, there is always things
that is happening under the surface. They are usually less easy to point out. Beneath the surface,
there are personalities. People behave, communicate, and get things done in different ways. After,
there is emotions. To reach the best resolution we can, each party in a conflict should be true about
their emotions by bringing empathy into the picture. Next, there is interests, needs, and desires. This
is where each party should be curious. It is important to ask questions in order to find out the needs
and concerns behind people's action. Also, self–perceptions and self–esteem. In the iceberg of
conflict, there are hidden expectations. Here is when the conflicting parties should use their active
listening skills to figure out the missing links. They should listen and try to understand the other
party perspectives. Lastly, there is unresolved issues from the past. Keeping an open mind is critical
in this stage. If you are still angry, it is wise to calm

The Art Of Resistance Hidden Transcript
James C. Scott The art of resistance: Hidden transcripts explains the modes of discourse employed
by the power holding groups of society. The public transcript describes the dominant groups policies
and how the oppress groups feel about them. The difference in these two groups is the dominance
that one places over the other in society. The oppress feel as if they don't have power to act or
change what the "powerful" dominant groups hold. The hidden transcripts are created from those
who find themselves subjects of the social, political and economic classes that dominant their
society. The purpose of the hidden transcripts take up a model of communication in the public
atmosphere that address the individuals who struggles with disparity, power and privilege in their
communities and societies overall. According to Scott "The highly charged atmosphere created by
the open declaration of the hidden transcript may produce social effects that bear the marks of
collective madness" (Scott 222). By opening the hidden transcript it could led you to more
individuals who share similar views as you do. Sometimes when it looks like nothing is happening
sometimes is happening. However, in the groups of the offstage individual there is very much a
change happening amongst the conversation that are had but they is no action to enforce that
change. The only thing that is lacked in these transcripts is the confidents to act upon what the ideas
in those conversation create. Ultimately, there is

To help bring awareness to their campaign Hidden Valley made use of their Facebook page and

Hidden Valley created limited edition bottles to help bring awareness to the problem and donate the

people they could have reached with this campaign. They really limited their reach and did not
consider their offline clientele when they planned the campaign.

Dystopian Novel : Among The Hidden By Margaret Peterson...
The SEEALL Academy Dilnura Turakulova

Among the Hidden "Among the Hidden" is a dystopian book written by Margaret Peterson Haddix.
Luke Garner is a 12–year–old illegal boy in his family according to their society. In Luke's society
third child's or as I may call it shadow children were illegal. However, if the government found out
you had a third child the child was to be eliminated. Luke was raised in a farm near the woods. In

Matthew and Mark. From the start of "Among the Hidden" Luke had a frequent roller coaster of
emotions, sensitivity, and understandings. In the beginning a change happened that got Luke
suspicious and upset. In the start of the novel The Garners woods were sold. When Luke asked why
it was sold their parents got upset and answered that the government wanted it. Throughout this
novel Luke was lonely and obedient. For instance, on page 20–21 the author states, "Luke, honey?
Can you eat sitting on the bottom step there?" "What?" Luke asked. Mother looked beseechingly

Analysis Of Juan De Pareja
Juan de Pareja is a piece of art which rebels against the standard of art for the time and shows the
inner thoughts and humanity of people, whether that be the subject, the artist, or the audience. An oil
on canvas painting made in 1650 by the Spanish painter Velazquez, the piece depicts his enslaved
assistant, Juan de Pareja. When an audience sees this painting, they are sure to be astounded by the
true beauty and suffering withheld in the piece, taken aback by the wrath hidden within, and morose
about the implications made of the society it was contained in. The first thing we are bound to notice
when viewing Juan de Pareja is his face. The main object by which the light in the painting
illuminates, it is also the most important part of the work. From afar, we can see pride and self–
confidence in a man with an upright posture. But, as we take a second and closer look, the picture
becomes much blurrier. Literally. The separation between light and color becomes much clearer, but
the facial expression is harder to fully make out. We move away from pride and see a contained
sadness with the facial features of Juan de Pareja. The bags underneath his eyes become clearer, the
spark of light contained within his pupils are visible, his pressed lips start to appear as a frown. We
may hurriedly pull away from such a graven image, when we see the full face in context. When
viewing the juxtaposition of Juan de Pareja's watery eyes and upright posture, a sort of bored
suffering is

Abstract–This paper purposes to implement iOS class CIImage into a face detection and human face
expression capture and virtualization. With the front camera on iPhone, we are able take photos and
record real–time videos. We use the front camera on iPhone to capture human face and build a
virtualized face on screen to mimic the real–time expression of the human face in front of the
screen. We create an interesting virtualized face on screen and then evaluate the accuracy of human
face expression capture using camera with the framework CoreImage.

1. Process of data transmitting in this software[6]
In order to avoid taking too much time on main thread, we need to build up a buffer that store video
data stream temporarily and then put these image data into face detector to do some image
processing. After that, information that was detected will be transmitted to the first view to control
the movement of that virtualized face. For now, there have been several kinds of face recognition
applications online, however, most of them are used for capturing face when taking photos. There
are also some application to create the illusion of real 3D on iOS devices[8] .There is still no try on
virtualization of human expression application.
II. PROJECT PLAN
A. Subject Searching
During this period, I analyze the possibility of implementing human face expression and decide the
topic of this project. The deadline for searching project topic is October 23rd.
B. Initial Literature Search and Reading
Searching on the relative class reference to use camera on iPhone[7] and reading materials on face
recognition and expression recognition[6]. The deadline for collecting and reading reference
materials is November 5th.
C. Program Work and Result Evaluation
Goal of this period is to complete programming and debugging then figure out the way to optimize
the result. The final aim of this project is to virtualize human expressions on iPhone. Realizing this
function and build up demo for this project.

Beowulf : Character Analysis Of Shakespeare's 'Grendel'
1. Grendel is a character in who poses more capabilities than a normal human being. The
presentation in the novel portrays him as a demon. The novel makes him look like the devil himself
is controlling him. The novel has a hero who is Beowulf. Ironically, Grendel also has his own
powers and acts which make him seem like a hero although he is not the main hero in the play. He
uses his powers and little intelligence to threaten and instill fear in others, such as Danes, so that he
can win. Grandel is not absolutely immortal, but his qualities are beyond those of an ordinary human
being which makes him be a hero although he does the opposite of what a hero does and Beowulf
defeated him.
Grendel perseveres the anger passed to him by God. The anger controls his actions, and he is only
interested in turning against the normal ways of life. Grendel is a person who eats children to instill
fear in them just because they ignored the instructions from their mother. This is not a heroic act
although it is something he has to put up with for him to become the hero he thinks he deserves to
be. Eating children makes Grendel achieve his objective of intimidating the children and making
them obey their parents. The parents have rights over their children, and he is using threats to make
children obedient to their mothers. However, Gredel's way of correcting the children is not the best,
but it can be attributed to his monster–like behavior which portrays him as a person controlled by

Analysis of the movie Juno
Plot
The movie follows a sixteen year old teenager named Juno. She often hangs out with her best friend
Leah and a guy named Paulie Bleeker, however after an "accident" with Bleeker, Juno finds herself

they soon find an ad in a newspaper, Juno decides to contact them and later she meets up with them.
They seem like the perfect parents but after a dramatic turn she finds out that they may not be what
she once thought. The big turning point for me would be when Mark reveals that he is going to
break up with Vanessa. After this Vanessa gets her heart shattered and Juno wants to help them out.
This led to Juno having to make many difficult decisions, even the whole plot changed from one

to put this thing aside as evidenced during one of the running segments. These two are the main
characters since I think the film is mainly about the relationship between both of them. How Juno
and Bleeker's relationship is presented towards the audience takes a turn during the ending sequence
in which it is revealed that both of them had developed feelings towards each other. In the beginning
however it's shown that Bleeker may like Juno in this way but it appears as if he would not have the

Theme Of Silence In Silence
Silence by Endo Shusaku is portrayed from a cultural and religious suffering during the 1600s in
Japan. The whole trip is carried out with a missionary enthusiasm for the hidden Christians of Japan
but also for a personal curiosity to confirm if the stories of Priest Ferreira's apostasy was real.
During his missionary trip, Rodriguez felt like his visit was a bringer of suffering rather then to
bring the gospel in Japan. The supposed triumphant missionary trip in God's name has arose demise
of the devotees, not redemption. Rodriguez witnesses no sign of change during the death of
numerous christians as martys. Endo uses Rodriguez to purpose 'Why God had remained silence all

He committed such action in order to partake the role of God. He might have trampled, but not
apostatising. Instead he declared for the vocation of God. As Rodrigues sacrifices himself, including
his pride and place as an upstanding member of the clergy, in order to participate with God in a
redemptive suffering that seeks the ultimate liberation of the peasantry. Though Rodrigues' turmoil
over stepping on the fumie was intensely personal, Endo's vision of the gospel is not an
individualistic idea, for it ends with the Church in Japan passing on traditions and forms suitable to
the Japanese. The priests affirms that "Even now I am the last priest in this land. But our Lord was
not silent. Even if he had been silent, my life until this day would have spoken of him." Silence is
about Church and culture, triumph and suffering; most of all, silence is about presenting human
nature bent toward God, and a God toward people. Thesis: The silence of God might seem like
ignorance upon suffering of christian followers but it is actually a way for Rodriguez to identify God
in a special way that the christ also is longing for a relationship with

To The Black American Troops Analysis
The end of World War II and the start of the Algerian War of Independence defined France during
the mid 1900s. Many black intellectuals, including poet Léopold Sédar Senghor and writer William
Gardner Smith grappled with the war, colonialism and racism that permeated French culture,
whether overtly or subtly. Despite the similar imagery within their prose, the authors showcase two
distinct points of view. Both authors describe ugly, inhuman visages, but in Senghor's work, these
twisted faces are merely masks, as removable as the humanly–constructed horror of the era, whereas
Smith sees the twistedness as fully ingrained in the human countenance.
Senghor's poem "To the Black American Troops," recalls the bitterness of World War II for black ...

The speaker says, "Oh, Lord, take from my memory France that is not France, / This mask of
meanness and hate on the face of France / This mask of meanness and hate that I can only hate"
(Senghor 71). Like in Senghor's other poem, the speaker describes the negative impressions and
actions taken by France as a mask. Masks can be removed, much like the uniforms in the first poem,
revealing a face underneath. Additionally, the speaker believes the face underneath to be the real
France. A chance at redemption is proposed by the speaker when the speaker says, "O bless this
nation, Lord, who seeks her own face / Under the mask, yet barely recognizes it / Who seeks You in
the cold and the hunger" (Senghor 72). The passage offers hope for redemption because France
seeks its own face hidden beneath the mask. However, unlike Senghor's first poem, the speaker here
suggests that the figure beneath the mask is mutable. France's face has changed while the mask has
been obscuring its view. Despite this difference, the mere fact that France seeks a god–like figure
within a frozen wasteland hints at the possibility of redemption for its misdeeds in Algeria.
Redemption in this poem requires more work on the behalf of the country.
William Gardner Smith, in his novel The Stone Face, continues to employ the use of faces as a
literary device that explores the possibility for redemption. The Stone Face differs slightly from
Senghor's works by using the image of a face rather than a mask. A face first appears near the
beginning of novel in one of Simeon Brown's paintings. Simeon describes the face he paints as

Rocio is writing about Diana and Eloisa as she sees them as an adult instead of the insecure girl she
once was. Rivera also brings up the importance of girls like Eloisa and Diana. One of the first things
Rivera brings up the girls' importance to Rocio. To Rocio, Eloisa and Diana were the embodiment of
womanhood. They stood for everything that Rocio desired to be. They were beautiful, confident,
and mysterious. Rivera also brings up the fact that even the girls' names were created to exemplify
beauty. For example, Eloisa is compared to the goddess Venus. Diana is named for the goddess of
the moon. The names were created on purpose to show the girls' beauty and mystery. In the end,
though, Rivera states that Chavez twists the plot around by showing Diana when she gets older.
Diana is no longer this beautiful goddess. She is, at the end, a wrinkled, moustached, old maid. In
the end, Rocio no longer sees these girls as romantic figures to be adored, but as real women with
tragic lives. Another important point that Rivera brings up is Chavez's unique literary style of
meshing together the English

Persuasive Speech On Privacy

  • 1. Persuasive Speech On Privacy How would you feel if you find out all the pictures you took didn't actually go to the receiver you sent? I'm sure all of you are familiar with snapchat right now and I know all of us sent many pictures to our friends just for their own amusement and to make their life better with our amazing faces. I'm sure we have all heard though whatever we post online will stay with us forever, but snapchat is safe because their policy is to allow a temporary picture, right? Today I will explain how their pictures actually stay with you forever, with snapchat basic policy, how it affected one college student and ways to protect yourself. So, Snapchat pictures disappears in 10 seconds or less right? Not really! I mean of course there is a screenshot and we are notified when that happens. And our generation we all have this app. In fact this app has 100 million users as of May last year according to Craig Smith a writer for the digital assistant on apps. And it has being very enjoyable to us, cause their policy even states that this is an amazing thing, it makes our lives better and its very enjoyable. But I'm sure we all want to know if our pictures did disappear, in their update say allow for the picture to actually not disappear, they say that whatever we snap is inevitably theirs. And their latest policy they say to clear up the rumors as of March 29th of 2016 that whatever we post, we give to them. Not only do they have our private pictures but they have our private information, they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Nancy Parsons Exotic Dress After reading a description of the portrait painting, such as the one written above, or simply by looking at it, one might be confused as to how Nancy Parsons in Turkish Dress displays this person's role as a courtesan. This is due to the fact that there are no overly overt signs for the modern viewer to understand immediately without some in–depth research. For instance, she is not shown partially or completely nude to indicate her selling of sexual services. Yet, when one understands the traditional interpretation of a direct gaze at the viewer or the hidden meaning behind Parsons' exotic dress within its historical context, it becomes quite clear that she is a courtesan. • 9. Dragonborn Alternate Ending It was changing out there. Just like last time. The Elves could feel it in the air. The Mages could see it in their crystal balls. The farmers crops died while the cows no longer gave milk. With the lands barren, and the rivers almost dry caused a world wide search to begin. Where was the Dragonborn? The hero who slayed Alduin. They searched for many moons for the famed Dragonborn yet not a single soul had seen him since the fall of Alduin. Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months causing the good people to abandon all hope. Winter was coming. It was right around the corner. Soon the barren lands were covered in a thick blanket of frozen water. People were dying from starvation. The animals froze, yet still the Dragonborn had yet ... An hour later she was standing outside in a large vast meadow with the city of Whiterun behind her. Letting a long sharp whistle escape her lips, she smiled slightly as Shadowmere appeared before her. Throwing one leg over, Rozen was off riding towards the north. Two months later, she stood inside a small shack with a frown on her angelic face. The dress she wore was two sizes to small. It clung to her curvy toned frame like a glove, and caused her large breasts to nearly spill out over the top. Letting an angry sigh escape her pale pink lips, she placed her leg on the edge of the wooden chair causing her pale leg to appear. Slipping a small sharp dagger into her boot, she reached for her cloak, tossed it over her shoulders, and then stepped out into the world beyond. It was a gray dreary day when she chose to break into Winterfell. The storm clouds where heavy over head, and thunder rumbled in the distance. Pulling her cloak tight against her body, she hurried along the dirt road, and only stopped to admire the castle before her. • 13. The Curse Of Sleeping Beauty Picked mostly on a whim, I was kind of excited to watch this to trash talk it as what reviews I had seen weren't very kind. But The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is actually really watchable. Of course it isn't great, but it's certainly not the train wreck I was led to believe. Parts were actually scary, with a bit of a silent hill vibe to them and while the ending is more than a little on the predictable side of things. That in no way hampers the enjoy ability of watching it all play out. Thomas Kaiser (Ethan Peck) is an artist and a recluse with few friends. Since childhood he has had a reccurring dream with a sleeping woman, Briar Rose (India Eisley). Though he always awakens before he can kiss and wake her. One day he inherits an old mansion estate from an uncle he never knew he had and goes to have it appraised for sale. Though things change after inherits the property, in that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Though I have a feeling that was kind of the point of the performance, it just doesn't play that well of Natalie Hall and Bruce Davison's more serious and focus approach. India Eisley is also bland, well right up until twist at the end when she actually does a fair amount of shinning. My one of my two issue's with The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is that it's a bit to slow to get going. Though once it got going it was great. My other being the predictability of what's going to happen. Maybe I'm just jaded from seeing to many horror films over the years, but I saw the twist from about the thirty minute mark. Final thoughts, overall I really liked it. Was it a masterpiece? No, of course not as few films are. But it was entertaining and I don't consider watching a complete waste of time. The visuals are nice, the pacing is solid and it has a great dread location that is dripping with atmosphere. Would I recommend it? Yes, I just recommend going into with an open mind and a six–pack. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. The Reason Behind Discovery The Reason behind Discovery Once I found this painting my initial reaction was that I wanted to be able to see his face and was extremely bothered by the apple in the front. As I continued to look at the photo I soon realized that I could actually see both of his eyes to the slightest extent. After noticing this I was somewhat relieved that I could at lease see a small amount. The piece of the painting that drew most of my attention simply because I felt that it was completely out of place. Therefore by it being there I was both confused and upset at the same time. At this point I had not reading the meaning behind why the author had decided to place it there and therefore was confused and began to think that I was possibly looking at a modified painting of some kind. The man can be seen as a problem and the apple can be seen as a distraction from the problem. There are several techniques that were utilized the artists in order to cause the viewer to react in specific ways. One of these is by making the painting completely balanced by placing the man and the apple in the direct center of the painting. Not only did the artist place the object in the center but he also made the rest of the objects in the painting significantly lighter. By doing this it causes the viewer to put more focus onto the man and the apple. In terms of dominance, the artist made it so the man is the largest object inside of the photo and therefore most of the attention goes towards him. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Perowne's Rationality Ian McEwan's novel, Saturday, takes place on a single day, Saturday February 15th, 2003, and follows the events of middle–aged man, Henry Perowne. Perowne lives a comfortable and privileged lifestyle. He works a high paying job as a neurosurgeon, owns a nice house, and drives an expensive car. He is happily married to his wife, Rosalind, and he has two talented children, Daisy and Theo. Although he seems to live a "perfect" life, he is flawed by being primarily driven by his rational thoughts. McEwan writes, "Perowne, the profesional reductionist, can't help thinking it's down to invisible folds...written in code" (272). This mindset limits his capacity to feel and leads him to a simple way of thinking, which makes him unable to fully connect with his surroundings. In the novel, he experiences a series of events that makes him question his set way of thinking. Through his two interactions with a young thug named Baxter, Perowne's rationality is challenged which ultimately makes him change his perspective on his privileged life by the end of the novel. • 33. Exages And Disadvantages Of Outsourcing Many Companies nowadays have engaged outsourcing strategies to reduce cost. Instead of doing it by their own staff, buying machines for fabrication. they engaged vendor to do it for them. There are pros and cons when dealing other company to provide/manufacture/assemble goods. Advantage of outsourcing is that It's undeniably true that it's cheaper to rent a factory –– and its workers –– than to maintain them yourself. Good outsourcing must have a very good planning to overcome some changes. The contract must be very well done, well define to adopt changes and will not result to unexpected rise of cost. The current stage is terminated. INITIATING I had first met Breana in the fifth grade; although we weren't in the same class, I had met her at recess. The elementary school we went to was pretty small so everyone in the same grade nearly knew everyone. We would occasionally make awkward eye contact but never have actual conversation. Fast forward to the eighth grade, Breana was friends with an old friend of mine named Nina, so I was seeing her more and more often. Now that Nina and Breana had become friends, Breana would sometimes eat lunch with Nina and I. She seemed pretty cool; I didn't know her very well so ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although we had two of the same classes and saw each other every day, we'd only speak in forensic science because we sat next to each other. Throughout forensic science we'd exchange laughs about the teachers we had and other students. One day Breana called me by surprise, I wasn't expecting this because we usually only spoke in school or texted each other about school work. During the conversation we were discussing the upcoming homecoming dance and we began to talk about our family dynamic and what our home life is like. As we were on the phone Breana asked me to join her at Eleanor Roosevelt's homecoming football game, this was the first time we had ever hung out with each other outside of school. After the game her mom picked us up, this was the first time I had ever met her; after her mom picked us up we had gone to her aunt's house where I had met more of her family. According to Johari's window the open box has grown larger because we are now exchanging personal information and more details about each other. The hidden box is still there because I'm not fully comfortable with her yet and haven't spent much time with her outside of school. The blind box exists because it contains Breana's first impression about me and other feelings about me that I'm unaware of. • 50. Hidden Truth In C. S. Lewis Till We Have Faces Roland Barthes once said that "Literature is the question minus the answer." This is a statement that applies nearly perfectly to some novels: for example, Atonement questions what redemption really is and The Picture of Dorian Gray questions what beauty really is, but neither novel provides a definite answer to their respective questions. It cannot be universally applied in its entirety, however; though Till We Have Faces is centered around a difficult question, it does end with a definite answer. C. S. Lewis's Till We Have Faces uses the Greek gods as a symbol to ask why the Judeo–Christian God – the God C. S. Lewis believed in – never seems to speak clearly and holds the answer in the meaning of the work as a whole: the hidden truth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The book she is given to read at her trial of the gods is very different from the book that she has spent her entire life crafting; instead of a complaint against the hiddenness and silence of the gods, it is a selfish, bitter complaint against the gods taking Psyche away from her and giving Psyche happiness that Orual could have no part of. After she reads it, Orual says "There was given to me a certainty that this, at last, was my real voice" (Lewis 292). What Orual sincerely believes to be her honest and just complaint against the gods is nothing more than a smokescreen for her own greedy possessiveness of Psyche. Her decision to convince Psyche to betray her husband was not "a decision based on that love which springs from an honestly skeptical heart" (Elgin 99) as the reader first believes it is, but is instead a willful ignorance of the truth due to selfishness. This truth is her answer; the gods do not need to defend themselves against Orual's accusation because in reality the only person she is accusing is herself. This is the meaning of the novel: the silence of God is not because God does not have an answer, but because humanity does not understands the questions it is asking. A complaint of the unfairness of God reveals more about the complainer than it does about God, just as Orual's complaint of the selfishness of the gods reveals her own self–centeredness instead of proving that of the gods. • 54. Outsourcing, The Corporate Buzzword Of The Nineteen... This issue facing my organization is outsourcing. Outsourcing, the corporate buzzword of the nineteen–nineties through today, is a popular business approach utilized by companies focused on lowering their cost structure, gain entrance to new markets, and expand and build capabilities. Defined as, the strategic use of outside resources to perform activities traditionally handled by internal staff and resources [Handfleld, R, 2006]. Initially, outsourcing targeted non–critical and non–core activities such as facility maintenance and cleaning and security. Later the industry focus began to include the core processes of manufacturing, logistics, and back office support functions. In my experience, the term outsourcing strikes fear into the minds of employees and managers and represents dollar signs to executives and investors. Open communication during change is critical and to eliminate disconnects and misunderstandings. The objective of this paper is to describe both sides, delve into the communication middle ground, and expose the avoidable hidden costs that exist and provide possible solutions to reduce or avoid these hidden costs in value, human capital, and knowledge. The origins of many outsourcing endeavors begin as part of a strategic planning session during a period of lean years for a company or anticipation of a prolonged impending down–cycle. It was a really long drive to get to the Disney hotel that we were staying at, but it was totally worth the wait though. While we were driving we saw a bunch of beautiful and fascinating things. We left earlier in the Morning so we got to see the sunrise, and let me tell you, it was amazing, one of the prettiest things I had ever seen. We stopped by a few places at the beginning of our trip so we could pick up some snacks to eat on the way. My brother, Kristopher, fell asleep within the first hour we were driving. I was listening to music, looking out the window, and snacking on a small bag of Takis. My dad surprised us on the way when we went to go eat pizza from Little Caesars. I know that doesn't sound like much of a surprise but I absolutely love Little Caesars pizza. I probably like it more than most people to be honest. We finished most of our pizza taking the leftover pieces with us back to the car. I was feeling pretty tired so I dozed off while listening to Shawn Mendes. I woke up to a louder song blasting through my headphones. I turned down my volume and switched the song. I checked my Google Maps and it said that we were about halfway to the park. After than I checked my Snapchat and opened a Snap from Gabby. The bright pink words across a picture of her and her sister read, "Can't wait to get to Florida!" With the Hollywood stamp of approval, so to speak, Theodore Melfi's directing and the diplomatic writing of Margot Lee Shetterly expose a 'hidden' moment in American history. This film promotes hope in a time of political confusion, i.e. the construction of a wall to illustrate Donald Trump's xenophobic approach "to making America great again." The sixties is a strategic backdrop for interweaving three distinct stories, accounting for each woman's experience and service to NASA. These women's legacies contributed to the launching of John Glenn into orbit. Their minds are the metaphorical shields to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She expresses the burden of these prejudices, which obstruct her work, her livelihood, and her responsibility as a single mother to provide for her daughters. The following scene is a touching demonstration of breaking racial boundaries. Harrison knocks the "coloured" sign down and asserts, "Here at NASA we all pee the same colour." Hidden Figures embeds a powerful theme for change. This film addresses the endurance of principles impeding change, including, amendments in politics, and democratic systems. Paul Strafford, a NASA engineer undervalues Katherine's work. Refusing to let her sit in on the editorial meeting of John Glen's fast approaching mission. Strafford's behaviour is telling of his insecurities and fear of competition. He personifies those who aim to preserve the distinctions between the public and the domestic. The trivialization of Katherine's role is challenged when Strafford says, "There's no protocol for women attending," and Katherine's responds, "There's no protocol for a man circling Earth either, sir." • 66. Literary Elements In Araby James Joyce's literary work Araby is a well written piece that contains so many different elements of literature, such as imagery, allusions and the use of symbols. By using these different elements, he is able to paint a well, drawn out picture for the readers depicting the tripartite psyche that Freud defined as the Id, Ego and Super–Ego. The main character in Araby is a young boy living with his aunt and uncle who wants to attend the local bazaar which is called Araby in the piece of literature. He is late going to the bazaar when his uncle comes home late from work with the money he is allowed to use, fearing he will be late and the bazaar will be closed or nothing left to buy. He finally arrives after all the trouble of rushing and catching trains to get there to only leave empty handed and disappointed. This boy in the story represents an idea that is so much bigger than one orphaned boy living with his drunk uncle trying to impress the girl next door. Expressed in Karen R. Smith's article Ethnic Irony and the Quest of Reading: Joyce, Erdrich, and Chivalry in the Introductory Literature Classroom she briefly highlights that Joyce who has an Irish background, "easily represents the pinnacle of the primarily British and American movement of high Modernism." After taking this into consideration and re–reading the story, the readers can easily recognize the relationship the oppressive government and the oppressive situation that the boy in the story is in and how the ... Hudsucker Proxy, No Country For Old Men And The Coen Brothers The movie "The Hudsucker Proxy, No Country for Old Men, Blood Simple and Raising Arizona" were all directed by the "Coen Brothers" a duo of filmmakers. Every film that the Coens have made, the story usually starts out with an average Joe who gets involved in a complex scheme that appears to be simple at first, but, in all reality, is totally beyond them. Violence, death, and murder are usually common within their films as well. In "No Country For Old Men, the middleman kills almost every single person that stands in his way. In the movie "The Hudsucker proxy" a business man committed suicide by jumping out of a window within the first ten minutes of the movie. The Coen Brothers have proven to fit the Auteur Theory because of the similarities of their films that they have directed and written as well as their consistency. The movie "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" is a motion picture fantasy drama that falls under the Genre action/adventure. The film gained so much popularity in Asia, managed to make its way to the United States and win four Academy Awards. One could compare it to the movies "Kill Bill Vol 1, Kill Bill Volume 2, and The Gladiator". In all three movies, swords of different styles are used in multiple ways. • 74. Persuasive Essay About Makeup According to Shaun Dreisbach, 97% of women will be cruel to their bodies today. This statistic is a surprisingly high amount of people and I was quite shocked to see this result. When I think about other women hating themselves, it saddens me, but when I think about my own low self–esteem, it seems warranted. Now knowing this statistic, it does not surprise me how often girls use makeup to cover up their insecurities. Makeup can be used as a mask to cover up the blemishes that lay across the face of any human (BE11). The small conundrum with this mask is that many people will never feel comfortable with taking it off. We use makeup so often to cover up the things we feel are subpar that we are never able to fully embrace what we were given naturally. This is why for my thirty–day challenge to push the limits, I decided to no longer wear makeup. Ever since I was a young girl, makeup has been a tremendous part of my life (BE2) I do not remember one day when I would bare a clean face in the seventh and eighth grades. Wearing makeup made sense in my head. If I darkened and lengthened my eyelashes, that would lead to more boys showing me affection. If I gave myself a blush tint to my cheeks, it would lead to more of my fellow popular girl peers showering me with compliments. And if I filled in the sparse hairs that laid upon my forehead, I was more likely to gain the attention of people looking for friends. In 2016, I turned seventeen. It was during this year of my life that my makeup habits became extreme. Primer, foundation, concealer, powder, contour, bronzer, blush, highlighter, eyebrow pencil, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, setting spray were all tools I used to create a face I felt was superior to the one I was given (SC4). Instead of accentuating my facial features, I would try and create completely new entities. This was not positive on my mental health: I was part of the 97% of women who are cruel to themselves every day (SC3). The more I participated in the action the more I favored hating the way I looked in the mirror every morning. It was only a year ago when all of these events took place. To this day I still find myself falling back into the push and pull of disliking myself. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Currently on display is "Hodgepodge", a collection of about ten canvases by Brian Bundren. While Bundren has been painting and displaying his artwork for quite some time (his first gallery was in the mid–1990s!), "Hodgepodge" contains paintings only from 2013–2016. All of the artwork shows great precision and attention to detail. The colors are vibrant and rich. That is not to say the colors were bright or cheerful (only one painting was particularly "bright"), but the colors were all pure and distinct. Most of the paintings, in my opinion, would fit under the umbrella of surrealism. Walking into the gallery immediately starts to produce feelings of unease and perhaps feelings of being threatened. The individual objects in the paintings are very realistic but mashed together in unnatural ways. Only one painting, "J.V.'s Thunderbird", felt "calm"; it did not cause me to personally feel discomfort, even though it was not peaceful. According to Cloke and Goldsmith (2011), "one way of understanding the hidden layers and complexities that lie beneath the surface of our conflicts is by using the metaphor of the iceberg" (p. 66). Just like an iceberg, there are layers in conflicts. What we see is only a portion of what is happening. Below the water line, is much more. In fact, the portion that we see on the surface is the current issue at hand. The issue is usually easy to observe. On the other hand, there is always things that is happening under the surface. They are usually less easy to point out. Beneath the surface, there are personalities. People behave, communicate, and get things done in different ways. After, there is emotions. To reach the best resolution we can, each party in a conflict should be true about their emotions by bringing empathy into the picture. Next, there is interests, needs, and desires. This is where each party should be curious. It is important to ask questions in order to find out the needs and concerns behind people's action. Also, self–perceptions and self–esteem. In the iceberg of conflict, there are hidden expectations. Here is when the conflicting parties should use their active listening skills to figure out the missing links. They should listen and try to understand the other party perspectives. Lastly, there is unresolved issues from the past. Keeping an open mind is critical in this stage. • 106. The Art Of Resistance Hidden Transcript James C. Scott The art of resistance: Hidden transcripts explains the modes of discourse employed by the power holding groups of society. The public transcript describes the dominant groups policies and how the oppress groups feel about them. The difference in these two groups is the dominance that one places over the other in society. The oppress feel as if they don't have power to act or change what the "powerful" dominant groups hold. The hidden transcripts are created from those who find themselves subjects of the social, political and economic classes that dominant their society. The purpose of the hidden transcripts take up a model of communication in the public atmosphere that address the individuals who struggles with disparity, power and privilege in their communities and societies overall. According to Scott "The highly charged atmosphere created by the open declaration of the hidden transcript may produce social effects that bear the marks of collective madness" (Scott 222). By opening the hidden transcript it could led you to more individuals who share similar views as you do. Sometimes when it looks like nothing is happening sometimes is happening. However, in the groups of the offstage individual there is very much a change happening amongst the conversation that are had but they is no action to enforce that change. This campaign did not include demographics/audience identification. They only said that their demographic was the consumers. They needed to be more specific when stating who the consumers are. Hidden Valley also did not do any research or list any competitors that they may have or if it even concerns them or threatens their campaign. For over 50 years Hidden Valley has built up a very high and good reputation with consumers, and because they have been around for so long they are knowledgeable in the food industry. To help bring awareness to their campaign Hidden Valley made use of their Facebook page and eBay when starting their campaign. The Taste Not Waste campaign got the attention of many bloggers and news sources like MSNBC and the Washington Post which is a big deal. People were even posting recipes on Pinterest for ways to use the unlovable fruits and vegetables. Hidden Valley created limited edition bottles to help bring awareness to the problem and donate the proceeds to support Great Nation Eats. The bottles were sold only on eBay where people could bid in order to receive the bottle. I don't feel as if Hidden Valley really utilized or considered their customers when they came to the decision to only sell on eBay. I think they could have raised more money and awareness and even had more success with the campaign if they would have sold the limited edition bottles in stores rather than just on eBay. They did not consider how many more people they could have reached with this campaign. They really limited their reach and did not consider their offline clientele when they planned the campaign. The two agents laughed and placed the three of them back to back between the beds. As soon as they touched, the three went into their childhood dreamland and Zeus explained everything to both Anya and Zeus. Along with showing them the castle and all that he saw inside it. When Anya saw a picture of a woman who was the wife of a disowned duke that originally owned the estate she noticed a slight similarity. So she decided to alter her dream self to see what was the difference. She lengthened and braided her hair and removed about 5–10 pounds. They were all amazed after the changes and discovered that she looked exactly like the woman in the portrait. So amazed at that fact that they jumped awake and were stunned to see that she had kept the changes in the real world. Anya slipped out of her ropes and untied Jeff and Zeus just before she felt the effects of so drastic a changed hit her system. • 126. Analysis Of Juan De Pareja Juan de Pareja is a piece of art which rebels against the standard of art for the time and shows the inner thoughts and humanity of people, whether that be the subject, the artist, or the audience. An oil on canvas painting made in 1650 by the Spanish painter Velazquez, the piece depicts his enslaved assistant, Juan de Pareja. When an audience sees this painting, they are sure to be astounded by the true beauty and suffering withheld in the piece, taken aback by the wrath hidden within, and morose about the implications made of the society it was contained in. The first thing we are bound to notice when viewing Juan de Pareja is his face. The main object by which the light in the painting illuminates, it is also the most important part of the work. From afar, we can see pride and self– confidence in a man with an upright posture. But, as we take a second and closer look, the picture becomes much blurrier. Literally. The separation between light and color becomes much clearer, but the facial expression is harder to fully make out. We move away from pride and see a contained sadness with the facial features of Juan de Pareja. The bags underneath his eyes become clearer, the spark of light contained within his pupils are visible, his pressed lips start to appear as a frown. We may hurriedly pull away from such a graven image, when we see the full face in context. When viewing the juxtaposition of Juan de Pareja's watery eyes and upright posture, a sort of bored suffering is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 135. Beowulf : Character Analysis Of Shakespeare's 'Grendel' 1. Grendel is a character in who poses more capabilities than a normal human being. The presentation in the novel portrays him as a demon. The novel makes him look like the devil himself is controlling him. The novel has a hero who is Beowulf. Ironically, Grendel also has his own powers and acts which make him seem like a hero although he is not the main hero in the play. He uses his powers and little intelligence to threaten and instill fear in others, such as Danes, so that he can win. Grandel is not absolutely immortal, but his qualities are beyond those of an ordinary human being which makes him be a hero although he does the opposite of what a hero does and Beowulf defeated him. Grendel perseveres the anger passed to him by God. The anger controls his actions, and he is only interested in turning against the normal ways of life. Grendel is a person who eats children to instill fear in them just because they ignored the instructions from their mother. This is not a heroic act although it is something he has to put up with for him to become the hero he thinks he deserves to be. Eating children makes Grendel achieve his objective of intimidating the children and making them obey their parents. The parents have rights over their children, and he is using threats to make children obedient to their mothers. However, Gredel's way of correcting the children is not the best, but it can be attributed to his monster–like behavior which portrays him as a person controlled by ... She often hangs out with her best friend Leah and a guy named Paulie Bleeker, however after an "accident" with Bleeker, Juno finds herself pregnant. At this time Juno knew she had to do something so she went to the nearest Women's Clinic, but soon she changes her mind and gives it up for adoption instead. With the help from Leah they soon find an ad in a newspaper, Juno decides to contact them and later she meets up with them. They seem like the perfect parents but after a dramatic turn she finds out that they may not be what she once thought. The big turning point for me would be when Mark reveals that he is going to break up with Vanessa. After this Vanessa gets her heart shattered and Juno wants to help them out. This led to Juno having to make many difficult decisions, even the whole plot changed from one thing to the other. How Juno and Bleeker's relationship is presented towards the audience takes a turn during the ending sequence in which it is revealed that both of them had developed feelings towards each other. The whole trip is carried out with a missionary enthusiasm for the hidden Christians of Japan but also for a personal curiosity to confirm if the stories of Priest Ferreira's apostasy was real. During his missionary trip, Rodriguez felt like his visit was a bringer of suffering rather then to bring the gospel in Japan. The supposed triumphant missionary trip in God's name has arose demise of the devotees, not redemption. Rodriguez witnesses no sign of change during the death of numerous christians as martys. As Rodrigues sacrifices himself, including his pride and place as an upstanding member of the clergy, in order to participate with God in a redemptive suffering that seeks the ultimate liberation of the peasantry. Though Rodrigues' turmoil over stepping on the fumie was intensely personal, Endo's vision of the gospel is not an individualistic idea, for it ends with the Church in Japan passing on traditions and forms suitable to the Japanese. The priests affirms that "Even now I am the last priest in this land. But our Lord was not silent. Even if he had been silent, my life until this day would have spoken of him." Silence is about Church and culture, triumph and suffering; most of all, silence is about presenting human nature bent toward God, and a God toward people. Thesis: The silence of God might seem like ignorance upon suffering of christian followers but it is actually a way for Rodriguez to identify God in a special way that the christ also is longing for a relationship with ... • 147. To The Black American Troops Analysis The end of World War II and the start of the Algerian War of Independence defined France during the mid 1900s. Many black intellectuals, including poet Léopold Sédar Senghor and writer William Gardner Smith grappled with the war, colonialism and racism that permeated French culture, whether overtly or subtly. Despite the similar imagery within their prose, the authors showcase two distinct points of view. Both authors describe ugly, inhuman visages, but in Senghor's work, these twisted faces are merely masks, as removable as the humanly–constructed horror of the era, whereas Smith sees the twistedness as fully ingrained in the human countenance. Senghor's poem "To the Black American Troops," recalls the bitterness of World War II for black ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker says, "Oh, Lord, take from my memory France that is not France, / This mask of meanness and hate on the face of France / This mask of meanness and hate that I can only hate" (Senghor 71). Like in Senghor's other poem, the speaker describes the negative impressions and actions taken by France as a mask. Masks can be removed, much like the uniforms in the first poem, revealing a face underneath. Additionally, the speaker believes the face underneath to be the real France. A chance at redemption is proposed by the speaker when the speaker says, "O bless this nation, Lord, who seeks her own face / Under the mask, yet barely recognizes it / Who seeks You in the cold and the hunger" (Senghor 72). The passage offers hope for redemption because France seeks its own face hidden beneath the mask. However, unlike Senghor's first poem, the speaker here suggests that the figure beneath the mask is mutable. France's face has changed while the mask has been obscuring its view. Despite this difference, the mere fact that France seeks a god–like figure within a frozen wasteland hints at the possibility of redemption for its misdeeds in Algeria. Redemption in this poem requires more work on the behalf of the country. William Gardner Smith, in his novel The Stone Face, continues to employ the use of faces as a literary device that explores the possibility for redemption. The Stone Face differs slightly from Senghor's works by using the image of a face rather than a mask. A face first appears near the beginning of novel in one of Simeon Brown's paintings. Simeon describes the face he paints as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is one particular statement that Rivera makes that was interesting, which is that "memories are represented in Rocio's home by these forgotten objects, these fragments of past lives" (7). She also brings up that the past in "Shooting Stars" is best described as a memory that is constantly changing. Rocio is writing about Diana and Eloisa as she sees them as an adult instead of the insecure girl she once was. Rivera also brings up the importance of girls like Eloisa and Diana. One of the first things Rivera brings up the girls' importance to Rocio. To Rocio, Eloisa and Diana were the embodiment of womanhood. They stood for everything that Rocio desired to be. They were beautiful, confident, and mysterious. Rivera also brings up the fact that even the girls' names were created to exemplify beauty. For example, Eloisa is compared to the goddess Venus. Diana is named for the goddess of the moon. The names were created on purpose to show the girls' beauty and mystery. In the end, though, Rivera states that Chavez twists the plot around by showing Diana when she gets older. Diana is no longer this beautiful goddess. She is, at the end, a wrinkled, moustached, old maid. In the end, Rocio no longer sees these girls as romantic figures to be adored, but as real women with tragic lives.
