it startsfor the crime board on the rightto the actor, Joel rockinginthe corner. We have decidedto
include eeriemusictosetthe scene forthe audience withinthe firstfew seconds. Also, forsoundwe
have decidedtoinclude Joel murmuring“I’ve letyoudown,I’msorry”to againcreate enigmaas to
whatis wrongwithhim. Also,we have diegeticsoundof some shufflingof feet. Natural lightingwill

For our thirdshotwe are goingto have a still close up.Thisisto ultimatelyintroduce the character
to the audience alittle better.Forthe soundwe will have Joel whispering“Bonnie”repeatedly. His
eyeswill thenlightuptoshowthatshe is special tohim. Thisisusedto alsoadd enigmatothe
openingasthe audience doesn’tknow whoshe isyet. Also, thereisstill natural lightingincludedfor
the realism.
The fourthshot isfrom the pointof viewof Joel seeingBonnie withinthe doorway. However, itis
alsoa longshotfromwhere Joel isandwhere Bonnie isstood. We see the silhouette of Bonnie. This
isemphasisedbyahighkeylightinorderto be able tosee justa black shadow.Withinthisscene no
soundwill be present.
3. The fifth shotwill be a longshotfrom where Bonnie isstoodtoshow Joel standingup. We will have
himstandingupbut it will looklikehe is‘drunk’(thiswill show he hasbeenlivinginisolationfora
while). Also, the lightingwill returntobeingnatural to againcreate realismbutbecause itisinthe
woodsthe lightingwillbe darkeranditwill foreshadow tothe audience thathe isn’tall he seems.
The onlysoundthat will be presentwillbe fromthe soundof hismovement.
The sixthshotwill be a longshot. Also, itwill trackJoel staggeringfromhispositiontothe doorway
that Bonnie waspreviouslypresentat.Thisshotalsoshowshissilhouettewhilsthe isatthe doorto
signifythathe isbecomingstable again(well whatthe audience willbe thinkingatthispoint). The
soundpresentedwill be fromhisfeetbeingdraggedandthe rubbishonthe floorof the buildingthat
he is steppingon.
The seventhshotwill be apointof viewfromJoel. Also, itwill be handheldtoshow thathe is
disorientated. Thiswill showJoel goingoutthe doorwaybya stepand he seesthe dressof Bonnie
justgoingroundthe corner. The lightingwill be natural againandthe soundwill be Bonnie’s
laughterwhilstshe isskippingaway.
The eighthshotis shownasa longshotof Joel fromthe behindatinthe same positionasshotseven.
Thiswill showthathe is confusedashe is juststoodstill. The soundwill be of Joel screaming

Bonnie beinghappywhilstshe skipstoshow Joel thatdeathisn’tall thatbad. The lightingwillthen
be natural again.
The eleventhshotisalsoalowangle and handheldshotof Joel’sfeet.Thiswillshow Joel still
staggeringanddisorientatedashe doesn’tknow whatisgoingonor why hischildisthere.
Therefore, itcreate more enigmaforthe audience toputupwith. The lightingisgoingtobe natural

appearnatural so it still showsthatitis realistic.
5. The thirteenthshotisof Joel’sfeetstillwithalow angle anditshowsthat he is goingupto blocks
that Bonnie hadwalkedtointhe previousshot. The shotisa close upto see whatis happingandto
focuson solelythe feet.ThisisatrackingshotwhichmoveswhenJoel takesastepup the stairs.
There isdiegeticsoundof Joel climbingupthe stairs. The lightingstillappearsnatural tobe able to
still make the audience thinkthatthe filmisreal whichaddsmore uneasytothe audience.
The fourteenthshotisof Joel at the top of the blocks. The shot isstill a close upof Joel fromthe
front.He appearsto be ina contemplationandlooksstraightforwardslookingdirectlythroughthe
noose as if he hasn’tseen. He thenmoves furtherupthe stepsand getsclosertothe noose making
himappearbiggerand the noose soit makesitlooklike whathe isabout to do isn’ta badthing.
