2. How did my thriller appeal to the
Audience
Our Audience was aged from about 16-46 male and females who like physiological thrillers.
The uses of mise en scene in our opening would have widely attracted our audience to our creepy thriller. The dark lighting and glowing lights
on the table helped add to the theme, and made the whole scene seem very creepy. This feel was also enhanced by the small cramped
room the murderer was in. The use of props in our opening would have also helped to attract our audience as it was photos scattered
all over the table that the main character was very interested in. These photos were obviously clues and would attract our audience of
physiological watchers as they would want to work out what happened and why the murder had photographed the murder for, and
what in particular she was looking for in the photos.
The story line would also appeal to our audience as there was a murder right at the beginning, which almost always in a movie lead to some
sort of investigation or reveals of the murder and what lead to it which often includes many physiological issues.
Usually its males who are attracted to psychological thrillers, but ours is both male and female, this is mainly because the male character in
out film opening (the murder) is female. Attracting the females to the audience.
3. How did my thriller appeal to the
Audience
After showing the rough cut to some of my audience, the feedback was mainly about sound (as it lacked any) they had requested sound that
would build up suspense and also help lead up to something big (the murder). In the end the sound helped to attract the audience as it
matched the genre, added suspense and lead up to the big event!
The cinema screening help to reach the audience and the response was very positive, we managed to get the exact effect we wanted. During
our film everyone was quite and drawn in waiting for the height of the scene and when the murder happened there were many gasps.
This was not only a completemt on out storyline, editing and sound but also on the acting! We got the response we were looking for.
Christabell : “I loved how
Nevin: “I liked how you used Ja’deine: “I really liked the sound it
the pictures and stuff,
was intense and powerful but did not
helped link to the title stylized editing to spilt the
over power the scene, it was very very
REMINCE! That was sick! I screen it made the movie more
good.”
want to know why intense!”
