4 Days recommended, one or two days a week for two to four weeks to learn how to set
up and learn how to use Edmodo. After that time use of Edmodo should be fully
implemented by teacher and students in daily/weekly class use.

Lesson Plan Sequence of Events – give day-to-day details:
Day 1) Teacher should begin the first lesson with internet use reminder’s (follow district
guidelines found in student binder reminder). Proper etiquette when using social media is
reviewed in a short classroom discussion.
Utilize the “Welcome to Edmodo – Day 1” Teacher Presentation
Sign Up – Teacher will introduce students to Edmodo have them sign up. The
teacher will use the “Welcome to Edmodo” presentation slide show to guide students
while the students complete each step on their own computer.
Profiles – Teacher will guide students in completing their own profiles and
posting a short note to the class wall (front page).
Day 2) Utilize the “Edmodo – Day 2” Teacher Presentation
Turning in an Assignment/Attaching a Document – The teacher will post the following
assignment on Edmodo prior to the students arriving to class.
2. Write a short paragraph about what you did over summer vacation and include a
picture in a Word Document. Then “attach” your Word Document using the
“attach: file” link.
Using the presentation slide show, the teacher will guide students in creating a word
document that includes a short paragraph and picture. The student will then attach the
document to the teacher’s wall and “turn in” the assignment.
Day 3) Utilize the “Edmodo – Day 3” Teacher Presentation
Using www.schooltube.com or another approved web site the teacher will guide students
in how to find an appropriate short video to embed onto the class Edmodo wall. Students
will watch other videos posted by their classmates and comment on at least three of the
videos.
Day 4) Utilize the “Edmodo – Day 2” Teacher Presentation
Using www.google.com to another approved search engine or website the teacher will
guide students in how to find an appropriate science web site to link to the class Edmodo
wall. Students will follow links posted by their classmates and comment on at least three
of the websites.
Students will familiarize themselves with the Edmodo calendar and learn to post a new
event to the calendar by adding their birthday.
