himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers,
unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 ‘I fast twice a week;
I pay tithes of all that I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector, standing some

17. 7 Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this
reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in
the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me—to keep me from
exalting myself! 8 Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that
it might leave me. 9 And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for
you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will
rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may
dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with
insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s
sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

20. 11 When Peter came to himself, he said, “Now I know for sure that the
Lord has sent forth His angel and rescued me from the hand of Herod
and from all that the Jewish people were expecting.” 12 And when he
realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John who
was also called Mark, where many were gathered together and were
praying. 13 When he knocked at the door of the gate, a servant-girl
named Rhoda came to answer. 14 When she recognized Peter’s
voice, because of her joy she did not open the gate, but ran in and
announced that Peter was standing in front of the gate. 15 They said to
her, “You are out of your mind!” But she kept insisting that it was so.
They kept saying, “It is his angel.” 16 But Peter continued knocking;
and when they had opened the door, they saw him and were amazed.

thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2for kings and all who are
in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness

Savior, 4who desires all men to be saved and to come to the
knowledge of the truth.

Prayer in the 1st cent was more than a mere “item” included in a worship routing.
Many today warn about a church growth the frear of “growing to fast”
Churches that I have know that were growing in number were devoted to prayer!
Churches that I have know that were growing in number were devoted to prayer!
For our prayers to be effective we must make sure that we are right with the Lord
For our prayers to be effective we must make sure that we are right with the Lord
Prayer is also a test of our humility
Prayer is also a test of our humility
Prayer is also a test of our FAITH. The CHURCH DIRECTORY is a great PRAYER TOOL! Some may ask, “WHAT IS PRAYER?”-->
In both Philpians and 1 Timothy passages speak of prayer along with supplications, intercessinons and giving of thanks. Prayer in these verses seems to suggest simply talking to God ->
David is not interceding or giving thanks, he is simply talking to God. Often Jesus would talk with the Father through prayer. There are several types of prayer -->
Short, sentence prayers. prayers of thanksgiving before a meal, prayers prayed in the morning or at the end of day, Group prayers that are prayed together which are different from personal prayers. The brother leading such prayers should be aware of his reponsibility to speak to the Lord for the whole group not just himself. Such prayers should not be extremely lengthy and hard to follow making it difficult for others to say the amen. There are private prayers alone in silence -->
It must have been difficult for Jesus to find a private placed to pray, for sometimes He had to arise early in the morning and go out of the house to a secluded place to pray mk 1:35 -->
IF Christ needed it surely we do!!! This showed His close relationship with the Father! WE NEED TO MAKE A PRAYER LIST (for all those we promised to pray for). Sometimes prayers just helps us accept the will of God - >
Sometimes God conditions His will on our having enough faith to ask ->
