Current Projects
1. Optimization of water management decisions at
Lake McConaughy (multi-year scale)
2. Loup River Hydroelectric Project - water
management activities and species monitoring
3. Reviewing effects of fish entrainment in large
cooling water intake systems along the Missouri
River

Future Activities and Interests
1. Multi-objective optimization of water management actions at Lake
McConaughy (multi-year and within year)
• Operational decision support models.
• Climate prediction models to improve decisions.
2. Model cumulative effects of water management actions in central
Platte, Loup, Elkhorn, and lower Platte.
3. Discharge-temperature models for Elkhorn, Loup, Niobrara, and
Platte rivers
• Predict effects of flow alteration and climate on stream
temperature.
• Effects of water management actions in minimizing lethal
temperatures.
